Isn't it so rewarding to find that you don't have that much to let go of and to know that you love, want, and/or use every single thing in your possession? We have reached that point in our decluttering/minimizing journey, and I am so grateful. Thank you so much, Steph. You are a bright shining light and encouragement to us all!
Finally, my husband came home and I was ready! I had every single cord and electronic item was on the big dining room table. What do we absolutely need to keep? We went from a box and a tote full to a shoe box! We got rid of 4 old laptops! I felt like that task had been hanging over my head since the cord declutter video. ✅ cords ✅ electronic devices ✅ Mini drawers in master bathroom
This is great! You have taken me from being so overwhelmed with every inch of my house to being confident that I can tackle it all, bit by bit. Thank you!!!
A decluttered kitchen makes life so much easier.
I watched with my nearly 9-month old grandson and he was mesmerized by your voice!
Having a paired down kitchen makes all the daily food prep so much simpler!
Ah, today I was out of the house from 8a-10p, helping a friend post knee replacement surgery. In addition to transporting them to/from physical therapy appointment, an errand, and picking up food, I also helped them declutter their DVD/movies. My young-adult kiddo has been helping me do big overall decluttering over the past few weeks. They've been really helping to pull things out and move things around, freeing me up to do more of the deciding and less of the doing. It's worked great. We finally have a process that clicks and makes progress. Today my decluttering wasn't on my home, I was able to help pay it forward and help my friend with doing the movement/boxing of stuff while they did the deciding. You help keep me motivated and doing a step at a time, even though I'm almost always on a different step than you - it's all progress.
It’s my birthday! So finishing up this whole house declutter is the PERFECT gift to myself 🥰❤️

Being a short person, I’ve found over the years that when you have deep cabinets, like your food storage container cabinet, the best solution is to buy bins that fit on the shelf and put the containers in the bins. That way you save time having to dig everything out just to find the right container or lid. You just pull out the bin, as you would a drawer, and the containers are readily visible.

I just left a similar comment before seeing yours! I 100% agree! This is a game changer! I did this in January of 2021 and it has kept the Tupperware cupboard in check without much maintenance.
I work so much better when my kitchen is decluttered. Homemaking in general is so much more enjoyable when our spaces are simplified. Thanks!
You are right when you say ‘there is always something’ I have found something every time I declutter in the kitchen
I like the way you don’t feel the need to have an elaborate organizational system with bins, baskets, color-coding, etc. You make decluttering seem very manageable.
I really love that decluttering and reorganizing the kitchen cabinets is simply that. No need for bins, pretty labels, Pinterest or Instagram - worthy after photos. Thanks for keeping it real.
I did a massive declutter and reorganisation of my kitchen at the end of March 2022. I was so stuck in my ways regarding where things were located, that I just couldn’t see that it would function better with things in different locations. It took me 15 years of being in the same rut, but my kitchen is now so much more functional, and I just love it! This series has been so motivating to me, but also reaffirms that I’ve been on the right track with all my decluttering this year, whilst highlighting areas I still need to do.
I find that the kitchen is one of the most challenging places to declutter. Over the past few years I have been trying to declutter things from my home. There is always things to give or throw away.
Don't forget those things on top of your cabinet. 😃 You have been such an inspiration to finish up the last spaces that need to be decluttered and organized. I've put it off for MONTHS! Thanks Steph! 🤗
This series brought up several points that I need to focus on right now. I retired and am renovating the house, re-evaluating unfinished projects, homeless objects and so on. You and spring bring great motivation. The biggest weight in my kitchen are the tupperware collections, which I do use for freezing. There are so many that I filed the lids in a container, vertically and in order of size. Very practical. Grateful for all the inspiration I always find in your channel. ⚘😍🙏🇵🇹
Look forward to your videos every day! I'll be sad when this month is over and we don't get our daily dose of motivation and good content 😆 but thank you SO much for all your hard work for us all.
I am moving into my parents home. I have decluttered my home of 28 years, now am focused on decluttering their home of 40+ years. It is hard, but it does become easier as time goes by.
This area is decluttering some of my fantasy self. I don’t bake, I don’t even like to bake. Good to get it to someone who will use it.
“You are probably never gonna need 100 Tupperware containers!” Bahaha! True story! Thanks for keeping us motivated, Steph. Blessings!❤️
I just helped my mom declutter her containers last night. There was quite a big mess in three large cabinets. We were able to fill two boxes of donations plus a whole trashbag of mismatched pieces which she was having a hard time parting with but I've learned so much from your videos that I was able to push her to make the hard decisions and clean out those cabinets. The before and after pictures were so satifying!
I’m blessed that my husband loves to cook and is excellent at it, but it also means that although I prepare meals too, the kitchen and what seems like lots of extra gadgets to me fall mostly into his territory which means I’m hampered by Rule #1. It definitely helps when I remind myself to focus on the bigger blessings and appreciate the progress in areas where we can agree.
I donated ALL my plastic food storage containers and replaced them with matching glass clip top containers and I’m sorry I waited so long! Bonus they all fit in a drawer. No more crawling on the ground deep diving into a cave to find a darn a lid! Life changing.
Tackling such a massive job in small sections has made the process pretty simple!
I've been working on the kitchen off and on throughout the month. What a difference it makes once you decide to declutter! I have a very manageable amount now since starting my journey 2.5 years ago and you have been helping me all through that time! Thanks Steph!
Storing lids and containers together is a game changer. I do it in 1 bin for the kids for school - just need to do it in the other area. Would make my life better that's for sure.
The frequency of these videos is so inspiring to take a look at spaces that go unchecked because they function just well enough as is.
The thing I like about kitchen decluttering is that people can usually use the extras I get rid of!
Thanks for all of your ideas. I have tried several and they are working for us. Yahooo!! We did try something different in our kitchen. We gave away all of our storage containers and bought the rubbermaid containers with the thick dark red lids. The lids and the containers all stack together and we keep them side by side. It used to take a huge area of our cabinet to store the containers but now it's actually a very small area. We are thrilled with this. It was first of all very inexpensive ($20.00 a box with multi sizes). We love not having to search for the container or the lid. It's all together and easily accessible. These containers even snap together in the fridge so they don't crash and fall over. Super easy to pull out left overs to reheat the next night. These are also amazing to freeze meals in as well. So thank you for the encouragement to clean and declutter the kitchen. It has really changed the flow and use of our kitchen. We love it!!
I love decluttering my kitchen. It's so freeing not having to dig any time I need something.
This series really has been perfect timing for me. We moved into a new house last month, and your videos have really helped me get and stay motivated to organize and declutter. It's been amazing how much more peaceful our new home feels with letting go of things we don't need, and organizing the rest in ways that make sense. Thank you!
I have found that keeping lids on containers is the best solution ever. I don’t even miss the frustration of trying to match the lid with the container. 🤣 Bizarre to think I spent years doing just that.
This is the day I've been dreading. Definitely my biggest project.
Clean kitchen cabinets make me so happy.
Some time ago I couldn’t sleep. So instead of watching tv in the middle of the night, I went through all my kitchen cabinets. Next Day I delivered a lot to the lokal thrift shop. It’s the Best feeling, to let things go to some other, who might be happy for it. And recently I changed all my flat dinner plates with “new” plates from a swift shop, because they were too big for my dishwasher. I think, I have too many frying pans, so that I Will look at , when I’m home later. Thanks for inspiration. ❤️
I've jumped back on the Fly Lady band wagon, after falling off a few times 😉 I'm totally the person who wants to do EVERYTHING day #1 then I get overwhelmed and just give up. This time I've decided to give myself some grace (I'm proud to say, my bed has been made for 2 weeks in a row!). I LOVE my timer. I have been shocked at how much I can get done in 10-15 minutes. This week I'm starting zone cleaning and 15 minute decluttering! I'm actually really excited. I've been rewatching your videos to help keep me motivated and I am already seeing a transformation in my house and my mental well-being ☺️ Thank you for keeping it real!
I am loving this challenge! I agree.... sometimes just easier to tackle the whole thing all at once, just get it done! If you just START, keep working on it, in the end it feels SO good, and you realize it really didn't take that long either!!!
My container and casserole cupboard is my most urgent kitchen declutter - cupboard here I come!
Everyone knows I love to cook so I get a ton of kitchen items as gifts. Been decluttering it in yearly sessions for awhile, slowly letting go of the guilt and the clutter. Was feeling energetic today so also cleaned out my recycling and garbage bins 😊
I just love how you're breaking this HUGE goal into *reasonable* pieces, Steph! We're doing it! 💪
Decluttering the kitchen is a constant battle at my house! Thanks.
Decluttering overwhelms me so much But sinse watching these it's helped cause I'm going room by room instead of being scattered
Tupperware consultant here and I love that you have the Real Tupperware!!! There is only one Tupperware ;)
All of these projects have added up and my house feels so much better already. If I can just get the garage done in time for our neighborhood garage sales I'll be ecstatic. Thanks, Steph!
Yay, I’m 2 days ahead!! I did a huge whole kitchen declutter on Saturday. My biggest take-away (literally) were my spices. My mom used to save spices so long that I think her spice cans could be labelled “vintage” if not “antique”. I, in turn, tended to keep spices too long - but no more. I’m off to a local store to buy some smaller portions of bulk spices… and, only what I really need. The compost now is a lovely mix of spices and discarded bread, veggies, and anything that was even a bit “off”. I’ve even gone minimalism-ish with our dishes. I love the room. It leaves lots of space to breath which will be fragrantly filled from fresh spices. 👃 If you choose me, I’m off to my local store NU. See you tomorrow. 😊🇨🇦
Kitchen decluttering done. Since I found you and Flylady two and a half years ago, I have been doing my decluttering in the zone that I’m in. Not every time, but enough to where it’s getting easier and faster to do. It’s never going to end! Life!
I have been with you since day one. I knew you were someone special then as I do now. Thanks for all you do to keep us all motivated to keep our own homes decluttered!
Sometimes when you go to declutter, you just don't get rid of that much! I love how you showcased that, because sometimes I feel a bit guilty because the pile I want is different than the pile I end up with. Big piles deserve celebrating but small piles or even just singular items do too. Just going through everything and getting it all straightened up and cleaned feels sooooo much better.
I moved into a house with a small kitchen (two upper and two lower cabinets) so while we wait for a kitchen Reno I was tempted to put things in storage. Then I realized that if it could wait in storage for a year, I really didn’t need it anyway. My kitchen is now very minimal!
One way I have improved my food storage organization is buying one two different sizes of storage. They nest, so I just have a few, neat piles in the cabinet. I occasionally wish I had a different size storage container, but the tradeoff is completely worth it for my sanity!
Love the idea to keep a few containers to take to someone and not expect back.
I always find decluttering the kitchen so satisfying.
Just did my kitchen cabinets and drawers right before Christmas. So I'm tackling the area under the sink.
We're decluttering our magic bullet next donation run. We've already donated pots and pans, baking sheets etc. We've decluttered a lot from the kitchen but there's always more.
Keeping the lids on the containers was a life changing hack for me! I thought it would take up so much space, but it didn't. Thanks for the motivation!
We’ve narrowed down our kitchen supplies to what works for us too but I agree it feels good to just go through it, organize it, and tidy the space!
I've sorted every cabinet except the one over the fridge. Guess I know what I'll get done today! Thanks for the boost!
This was one area I didn't need to do because I covered it not too terribly long ago. I did, however, have a box with kitchen/misc stuff in it that was overdue to be tackled. I ended with a bag of garbage, a bag of donations and some interesting finds. I'll be sad when this challenge ends. I've really enjoyed it.
Watching this is so inspiring. One tip for you.... I got some big bins to go in my lower cupboards to hold my tupperware containers That way I don't have to get down on the floor to see what's in that cupboard. I just pull out the bin and it's easy to see what I have. Nothing gets shoved to the back. 😉
Idea for your tupperware cupboard: two big plastic storage bins minus their lids, treated like two drawers. (Or smaller bins side by side to create even more "drawers"). Helps with both containing everything, organizing everything, and being able to pull them out part way like drawers to access things in the back more easily. Can't take credit for this idea - I saw it on Pinterest about 7 years ago, and I did it in all of my lower kitchen cabinets because the cabinets were super deep. It worked GREAT!

P.S. I used shallow (about 5-6 inches deep), somewhat translucent containers, from either Target or Walmart, and stored the lids away, and then used the bins and lids as moving containers when I later moved.
We are adding on to our house this year, ourselves, and your whole series this month has been a blessing to get me into the swing of decluttering before I move into more rooms-so that we can have “less is more” with our addition-thanks!!
Good advice to periodically go through your things and declutter. I've done this for years, donating to work or goodwill. The sense of peace at a uncluttered space is amazing! Thanks for your encouragement.
Decluttered the cutlery drawer! Found more to get rid of than I thought I would. I agree, it’s nice to have things tidy. Thanks for the motivation - I would never have done this today otherwise! The whole series has been very motivating - thank you for putting it on KZread.
We finally have our rubber ware under control. We have a set of rubbermaid that fits inside each other and then reuse the sandwich meat containers and they all stack together. That drawer used to be a nightmare.

My biggest hurdle… all the kitchen gadgets from parties-Pampered Chef, Tupperware… I think I have it all from at least two seasons of their catalogs! I love kitchen stuff
cupboard by cupboard is certainly an easier way to go. I make way less mess this way. Last time I tried, I emptied every cupboard at the same time! Such a disaster. Thank you for the inspiration.
I was sick this weekend, and still recuperating, but I amsothankful for ur previous videos, where I learned so much, and flylady Diane!! My house stays tidy...mostly....thank you so much!!!~~Susan Kauffman
I decluttered coffee mugs, extra mixing bowls and some plates that I didn't use. Our house was built in the 70s as well. Our kitchen lights were just like yours before we remodeled.
I would like to have seen the final pile of decluttered items. I always find that so satisfying when watching a decluttering video.
Totally agree with your suggestions for Tupperware cupboard! Reduce the amount and put lids with containers. The other thing that has saved me from losing things in the depth of the cabinet is putting everything in larger bins that can slide in and out like drawers. Limits the number of each that I can keep as well as keeping things from getting lost in the back. Loving this series!!!
I love the feel of a freshly decluttered kitchen!
Oh my the kids are going fast!!! I have loved watching you - two years on my fly sink is cleaned out almost every nite! It’s a huge difference in my morning stress
I conquered my Tupperware years ago. Now that my kids are grown, I use glass containers with plastic lids, and I got rid of a ton of them. If I am going to need to take or send things, I plan ahead and go to the dollar tree for containers.
The Tupperware cabinet is an ongoing project. It never stays organized for long.
I don’t want my name added to gift card drawing but I just want to thank you for doing this. It is so much more fun when you know others are joining in the cleaning/clearing process! My BIG project is the storage totes and shelf under my basement steps. 😳😬 It’s very daunting but I will be happy when it’s done!
This series has helped me to avert chaos over Easter and family complications. Many thanks!
A hack for the "rubbermaid" cupboard....I've used (clean) kitty litter boxes (cheap ones) as pull out drawers so things don't get lost at the back of the shelf. They work great!
Love this series! The plastic container cabinet though. I get the shivers when I think about my Mom's Tupperware cabinet that threw up all over the each time you open the doors! No plastic ware in my house except some for takeaway for guests. I have all glass containers, all sizes with locking lids. I can see what I have as leftovers and stack them in the cabinet easily.
I'm still amazed how few items I use regularly in the kitchen!
I love your pull out shelves. That's something that should be in every kitchen! This has been so very helpful... my back is out and I haven't been able to walk or stand well at all... but with things in place it's made life alot easier! Thanks so much and since this is the last week I can't wait to see what you come up with next. Your videos are so helpful for me... taking small tasks and being able to get things done instead of feeling overwhelmed. Thank you💗
My kitchen is like an ongoing decluttering project! Seems like I do this room more often than the others.
This is making a huge difference! I love seeing my kitchen drawer so organized!
It was funny to have this as the declutter for today since that's what my husband was doing this morning.
I devout here's my coffee cup cupboard two weeks ago. How many coffee cup does a household need anyway? I counted some 40ish!! 😲 Sheesh!! 🙄 Now I have a sensible number of 8! Today I'll tackle my ridiculously overcrowded recipe book cupboard! Yep, the whole cupboard!! I only use, like, four or five books! So, here goes and wish me luck!! 📚📚📚🙁
Last night I tackled a bookshelf and moved cookbooks back into the kitchen. I also began reading a book I had i tended to read two years ago.
Great inspiration! I’m packing to move and can only keep “out”what we can initially fit into a tiny house. I also like to keep a couple of disposable random takeout containers to send food away in...it is nice to not need it back.
My kitchen is the one part of my house that still consistently frustrates me! It’s also the only area where I seem to keep re-buying things I have decluttered. I think I’m expecting it to magically become easier to keep tidy, but I also use it a TON so my expectations aren’t totally realistic.
This task was not too hard ,my Tupperware is my problem area area but I have found a place in my pantry to keep it. My large task which is my office/craft area area is Finished. Hallelujah
Thought I would find nothing to declutter here but saw with new eyes today. Thanks
I’m anxious to get to this task. I moved 2 years ago, and everything was pretty organized, but now I see things need to be culled and straightened up. Also, 2 years of crumbs and dust are starting to show! Thanks for the inspiration!
I use four dollar store dish pans for the Tupperware cupboard. I keep the food containers and lids together according to general size or purpose. The bins slide in and out easily so I can find the containers that would otherwise end up in the back. Four bins/$1.25 each = $5.00 and simplified cupboard! Sweet.
Yay! I just finished my laundry room cupboards which are difficult because it's mostly my husband's repair things. I grouped them into plumbing, electrical, wood stains, etc... And labeled. And moved all the misc screws to his garage workshop. That feels good!
I wish I could post pictures here. I decluttered a little plastic rack that was in our kitchen. I got so much stuff out of it that I was able to get rid of the rack entirely! I love having that space free.
The timing of this is perfect! We're having a Garage Sale next weekend and I still need to go through my whole kitchen. I've been dreading it, but you make it look so easy and actually fun! LOL! So maybe it won't be so daunting after all. Thanks, Steph!
I did it! ☀️ Cleared out Tupperware AND freezer section from the other day’s challenge when I just tackled refrigerator section. Feels good! The funny thing is I was also somehow inspired to vacuum out underneath the floor vent registers. Dust, crumbs, Pine needles, dog hair, small leaves and a felt chair pad. Fun!! 🤣 love this - thanks Steph!
Decluttering the kitchen is my favorite place to start!!
I have enjoyed this series so much. I have been on top of my home for the first time in many years, but all these little "prompts" have given me ideas as to where to go next My kitchen is brand new and the major remodel just ended a few weeks ago. I have slowly (but surely) been putting things back in. It was all boxed up and stuck in the basement since Dec 2020. We lived without these items for well over a year. As I unpack each box, I am amazed at how much I am getting rid of. Keep it up, love your vids
We just moved to this house a few months ago and I'm still deciding the best homes for things, especially in my kitchen. If something isn't working for me, I'm don't hesitate to rearrange and try somewhere else. Of course, my hubby is convinced I just move things around so he can't find anything.
I have a lot of deep shelves like that in my kitchen and I just use cheap plastic bins with labels on them to keep them semi organized. I really love how clean everything is when it’s decluttered! Thank you!
