Automation and AI in the workforce will help China to continue growing despite a shrinking population. The world needs fewer people, not more, so countries like India and Nigeria need to implement population controls, IMO!

Education and training are the key. Quality of the workforce, not quantity anymore.

Growth of 6% based on consumption would be tremendous. Growth of 6% based on credit expansion would be a disservice to the people.

That's exactly one of the problems with China's growth after the 2008 financial crisis. The chances that the Chinese market will achieve consumption-led growth is very low. Even then, "consumption" will likely mean that their middle class is spending its discretionary income on apartment speculation. Analysts like Kishore can talk all day about the overall trend as a whole forest, but quite a few of the individual trees are terminally rotting. His book is outdated already, even considering the implications of COVID alone on issues such as the current and projected quality of growth.

"Analysts like Kishore can talk all day about the overall trend as a whole forest" - He isn't an analyst though. He is a diplomat and that's exact how he talks. What he says depends on who he is talking to.

If China can have a 1 child policy. Why can’t China have a 3 to 4 child policy?

In 10 to 20 years time A.I and Robotics will help China overcome many economic problems. Those nations that are over populated are the one that need to be concern. Jobs in the future will be getting lesser, competition for jobs and businesses will be fierce.
