Kip C. giving a POWERFUL talk at an AA Meeting 12-Step Recovery

I had the privilege of meeting Kip a couple of years back, he is a really great guy. Wonderful example of AA, and living proof of the program's effectiveness. Enjoy the tape, it is a really good one (its a bit long, but WELL worth it :)
Addiction treatment WORKS! The Twelve Step Model has been utilized as a treatment for alcohol abuse and alcoholism since 1935. It is extremely important to know that help IS out there and addiction recovery is possible. If you are battling alcoholism, drug addiction, addiction or any other form of addictive behavior, there are people who know EXACTLY what it is like!
You can find out more at: www.aa.org - Alcoholics Anonymous Official Site - As should be blatantly obvious, we are in no way affiliated with them or any other Twelve Step Program. We are just looking to provide hope to those suffering from alcoholism or addiction.
It is important to note there are several ways for one to address his or her alcohol abuse treatment. Substance abuse is a very serious condition and has become an epidemic in today's world. Many people suffering with substance abuse need treatment, such as inpatient stays, rehab, or counseling. The importance and purpose of this video, and all our other videos, is to show that recovery IS possible and to give hope to those who are struggling with alcohol and drug addiction issues. Help IS out there!
From the book Alcoholics Anonymous: "In spite of the great increase in the size and span of this Fellowship, at its core it remains simple and personal. Each day, somewhere in the world, recovery begins when one alcoholic talks with another alcoholic, sharing experience, strength, and hope."

Kip was my first cousin. We were 9 months apart and pretty much grew up together. ( We were those dark haired dark skinned kids he mentioned) He was something. He came here to OK to visit my mom and I in Dec. just few months before he died. Hearing this today brought back so many memories. I miss him and this helped my heart today to hear his voice. Please keep his daughter Jana in your prayers. She lost her dad Kip and recently her Mom Cathy passed away also.

Came across this meeting by accident, while listening to it I heard things that made me stop in my tracks . Completely zoned into this mans Message of hope, honesty, humility. Cried, listened, cried, listened and realized I have to do everything the program suggests, because I’m not, & I know by doing so is the only way to complete happiness & freedom from this spiritual sickness I still feel even though I’m sober I’m on suboxin and people in NA make me feel like I don’t belong with them & im still using even though I’ve changed my life. I know in my heart right now I’m ready to get off them, not because my boyfriend tells me I’m still using, & throws it in my face every day, makes me feel excluded and uncomfortable in my everyday life. I had a spiritual experience listening to this I was walking my dog & walking through a graveyard, I actually was so focused on this message I sat down in the graveyard & talked to god, it started pouring raining out I felt gods presence so powerfully I had a spiritual awakening& now feel I know who I am, god loves me, and I will be ok. Thanks to this man who spoke! I’ve heard thousands of speakers in my life but never has someone’s message affected me so deeply! God Bless you Kip I think you may have changed my life

If you could sum up the horrors of alcoholism and the hope of AA in 1:40 I can't imagine it being done any better nor with more heartfelt sincerity and wisdom than Kip Collins does here. I regret we never met in person.

I love when Kip said that the priest told him to read page 62 in the B.B. "This is the how and why of it. First of all, we had to QUIT playing God."

Most people who arrive on AA’s doorstep, want to know what the solution is, but aren’t willing to put forth the effort. They then go out and say it DOESN’T work. For every alcoholic it comes down to this...Live in the problem, or live in the solution. Simple as that!
