So basically how The Spirit Of Vengeance works is it should be inside a vessel. Frank Castle was the vessel to keep The Spirit Of Vengeance in check and to limit itself. So if Frank Castle were to die... That means there is no vessel to hold The Spirit Of Vengeance anymore. The true form of The Spirit Of Vengeance will take over and is pretty much impossible to kill. It happened with the Johnny Blaze version where Johnny Blaze died and The Spirit Of Vengeance took over, literally becoming the only unstoppable thing walking the universe. So if The Spirit Of Vengeance came out in this comic, he'd make both Thanos his pets.

Not all variants of the Hulk are the same. No point being salty in this version. Thanos practically killed all Avengers in that universe. This variant was insanely powerful.

@@alibibeats2 , I would’ve been ok with him being killed. Him being held prisoner and being tortured and abused and just accepting it and wanting to be killed doesn’t make sense for that character. The Hulk is a character who evolves and not just for mere survival, but to overcome. And as the beyonder stated in his observations about The Hulk, he has “an infinity of power with no finite element inside”. This isn’t Reek from Game of Thrones. It’s not someone who’s helpless. He literally has an infinite source of power from which to draw upon to help himself. Furthermore, he has dissociative identity disorder, something he developed due to trauma early on in his life. So, he also already has a system designed for dealing with/ managing abuse in such a way that he can partition the stress and trauma of it all off into a sector of his mind, leaving room for other personalities to do whatever needs to be done to resolve a situation. None of that guarantees he won’t be killed, but I would argue he’s virtually designed to prevent this particular kind of outcome. It’s as I said about the mcu making gamma radiation HURT the Hulk in Endgame when we all know gamma makes him stronger(which is why he said it was like he was made for this in the film when it came time to put the gauntlet on and bring everyone back from nonexistence). If you’re gonna write a comic or make a movie where kryptonite actually makes superman stronger when for the better part of a hundred years of Superman stories, kryptonite weakened him, you need to at least explain WHY. Because it’s a core element of his character. If that’s not explained then that makes me think that’s not really superman. It’s just someone who looks like him.

No one can convince me that Thanos holding Hulk captive like that ain't some fucked up S&M thing...

Thanos is nothing compared to Dr Doom. And you could say the same about Loki because the current Loki in the comics would humiliate King Thanos in a fight but they never let Loki be a villain no more.

One thing about being a comic book creator would be seeing all the different takes new writers come up with for a character you created. It has to be kind of difficult to see someone you created become something completely different and new with contradicting qualities as new writers get tasked with writing stories for you creation. Imagine if you made a character that you specifically made vulnerable to electricity and for whatever reason a writer 30 years later makes a way for your character to now be one with electricity basically doing away with the one weakness that gave the character depth. Now 2 of his main villains are useless because they were tied to electricity and his sidekick that helps repel electrical attacks at the main hero is irrelevant. All because some fanboy decided to make your character impervious to his main weakness. And you gotta be professional and say you like it to appease the Comic book company

I liked this story but it had glaring plot holes that made it hard to read. Mostly I couldn't fathom how a worthy SS scaled above the likes of living tribunal but I guess we arent supposed to look that deep into it...

@@lancekemal8989 Youre absolutely right but thats only because he got nerfed really bad after the beyonders (the species, not the singular entity) killed him. But he's still universal-ish. Protégé is actually pretty powerful tbh. Thanos being so strong also makes sense because I think at one point we're led to believe Old king Thanos was the same Thanos who concurred the God quarry. But SS never got any upgrades on that level that I'm aware of so I just can't digure that one out. Oh and the part where he (thanos) killed those three celestial he apparently used blackbolt's voice so I guess when he's getting brutally tortured, he's almost universal somehow. Seems dumb but there it is.

@@97Kakarot97 Losing to the Beyonders is even worse considering their recent showings. Beyonders has kinda like punching bags to show how powerful a character is these days. Like look how powerful this character has become, they just destroyed a Beyonder, Loki, Dr Doom etc. And it's not that i'm saying Protege ain't very powerful just that Living Tribunal is supposed to be 2nd only to his master. And both King Thanos and regular Thanos are pretty overrated in power . Not all Celestials are created equal, some are bellow Skyfather whilst others are insanely op and Thanos wouldn't last even a nanosecond against them. Being the same race doesn't make them all equal beings.

@Lance Kemal recent showings is the key word here, all of those situations are extremely contextual. Its all about the writers. I'm glad you brought up doom because that's a perfect example, he didn't beat them so much as he stole their powers. and literally became unstoppable afterwards. I'm gonna long story short it because I get excited and could talk all day, but basically the reason why the LT lost to the beyonders in the secret wars era was because A) They are actually extremely powerful in their own right. Each one is relevant to an abstract in power. B) As you said, The living tribunal was the most powerful entity in our multiverse, second only to TOAA. However, LT couldn't exercise his full authority over them because they weren't from OUR multiverse. They literally came from the beyond. Basically like a 4th (5th?) Dimension. Multiple beyonders basically jumped the living tribunal in thousands of universes simultaneously and also its really important to note They didn't completely defeat him, manily aspects of the Tribunal were unharmed as mentioned by Thanos, they just did enough to sabotage his authority. After all of this happened TOAA basically realized their were beings beyond our reality who's authority the LT couldn't effect so he's like, yeah you suck at your job. You're fired. Fast foward a couple decades later and Adam Warlock is actually the new LT, because reasons. he exists outside time and space (it's way more than that but it's a whole nother story line) and basically he's not as powerful as the original Tribunal, he's still a forced to be reckoned with, just not second in the hierarchy of power. As far as the celestials vs Thanos go, absolutely there are some who are far beyond the others. Namely the Fulcrum and Tiamut. But almost all of the 35 known celestials, even the weakest scale at or around a fully fed galatcus. The reason why I say that Old King Thanos scales above the celestials is because afyer concurring the God Quarry (a really good story line you should definitely check it out) he EASILY overpowers his son thane, empowered by the PHOENIX FORCE BABY! It was so awesome to watch. The phoneix force is at or around the celestials in power with the white crown overtaking them handily. Anyways that was a young King Thanos who had barely even grown into his new powers. So seeing him one shot galactic and eat celestials like breakfast makes perfect sense in that context. TL:DR its all based on the writer but in the context of the situation it usually makes sense. Still, in all of this, I cannot fathom how SS reached these levels of power. He must have done gravity training or something
