If you take too much of a bite on tall grass, especially if it is wet, the sheer bolt or the belt may break. Aside from that my king cutter finish mower 72 inch behind a 55 hp Rural King tractor is great.👌

I've been really considering a finish mower. I was debating between the brush hog and finish mower and I think I would get more use from the finish mower. This video gave me good insight into a finish mower in use.

These are so fun to use because you can take the loader off because the mower supports itself unlike a rotary cutter where the tractor supports the impliment.

Isnt it mean to be a "finish mower" not a field cutter. That grass is kinda long for that tool. Like using a tack hammer when you need a sledge hammer. Duno.

Finishing mowers will cut some tall grass if you take your time. Otherwise you’ll burn the belt up.

@@travisricks3436 True. But if you hit something hidden in the tall grass you are much more likely to damage a finish mower. The rough cut is made to hit stuff to a degree. The blades are not the same, nor how they are attached.

@@flynryan3053 I have a rough cut and a finish mower. They are both good units. They will cut some grass for sure. I would NEVER put my finishing mower in brush. Grass only.

That tractor should have plenty for that mower yet u can hear it bogging down on the hill

The grass was really tall, it's a little better for normal height mowings.

rb30533 I'm just saying for something that is pushing 72 inches of cut grass out one side I believe it's better to have it spread behind than all shot out one side! It seems to spread it out pretty well when its thick.

Wouldn't say better but a 6 ft deck its best to go out the back. I am no expert but I think zero turns have a side discharge mainly so you can add a bagger.

Because the drive wheels are behind the cutting deck on zero turn so it can't possibly be rear discharge. I would think that would be obvious.
