The graphics are so mind-blowing in this movie. I love how they actually made Kong look like a real gorilla (just super sized and battle scarred), even more astonishing to me is that the same man who played Gollum in The Lord Of The Rings trilogy and Caesar from Planet Of The Apes did the motion capture acting for Kong in this movie. Andy Serkis is amazing at what he does.
36:22 This part gets me the most; the absolute defeat on Kongs face :( Just like "how did I even get here?"
The old scool kong movies are coolll butt the ending alwayes brakes my heart.👊🏻
Such a depressing ending always gets me teary eyed 😿
Andy Serkis as Kong was expectedly fantastic! No surprise given his performance as Gollum in The Lord of the Rings; and also a precursor to his work as Caesar in the Planet of the Apes films.

@@jian5568 - It's his mocap work in general that was the force behind getting those movies started (plus the WETA technology to allow it), but his training and research as Kong was surely of incredible use.
1976 was the first remake, done in a modern NYC. The original was from 1933, and this one was a throwback to that era.

Both 1933 and 1976 were contemporary films, set at the time they were filme. 2005 was a period film, set 70 years before it was filmed.

Beautiful reaction
Jackson's valentine to the original KING KONG is extraordinary - it was that film that lit his love for movies and to be a filmmaker (he even made Super 8 films about Kong as a kid). You so need to see the original as well as its first remake in 1976 with Jeff Bridges and Jessica Lange (in her film debut).
Before I start watching, I predict that the "Game Over" count will be...6. 😂

Nice one! One of my fave movies of all time! I love Peter Jackson as a director
Long live Kong! Great reaction ❤️
This King Kong was played by Andy Serkis who played Caesar in the reboot planet of the apes franchise Rise, Dawn and War using the motion capture technology again. Take care 😘🏴
this is real King Kong! Great movie!❤️
The KIng Kong ride at Universal Orlando has you riding in an RV being attacked by these dinosaurs and Kong.

It’s pretty gruesome,to be sure.
I love this movie so much it was the greatest movie I ever seen to me
Carl is not totally evil, remember he tried to actually safe his cameraman and when he catches Kong with the bottle of chloroform he put his own life at risk. Just like Kong is not completely good as he kills innocent humans. One could even see them, Carl and Kong, as mirror images of each others. Carl is possessed of fame and money for his own enjoyment, and Kong is obsessed of Ann. Carl says at the end that beauty killed the beast not the airplanes, Carl's inside beast may have been killed by her empathy to Kong as well. I like it when movies don't always have happy endings, when they are good you try to understand why all went wrong and maybe dive into deeper meanings. IMHO, this movie is very underrated and stays in my heart as the best interpretation of the King Kong story.
Good reaction yall ✌. I remember watching this movie back then too.. on DVD. I watched this movie over and over again..but I would fast forward it to the action part starting after the 3rd time I had watched it. They did a good job with the storyline and the music in this movie too though. Even though the Action was my favorite part.
Fav king kong movie
I highly recommend the original film from 1933. You’d be surprised to learn that this film is the 2nd remake of King Kong. The first one was actually back in 1976. I’d curious to see what you both think of that one also.
46:00 Kong was alone. He didn't die alone.
"It was beauty killed the beast" is from the original 1933 King Kong film. And it's right up there with Sunset Boulevard's "Alright Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my closeup" and Casablanca's "Louie, I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship" when it comes to most famous iconic closing lines in a movie.
One of the bests Kong movie!
Now you should watch the REAL King Kong from 1933. 🙂

For the mid 00s it was a uniquely cinematic, immersive and intense game that could get pretty scary as Jack. Played when it came out and was legit terrified because Skull Island's atmosphere was way more eerie and sinister than in the movie.
The 1933 King Kong is really good.
The original 1933 film is my favorite. The 1976 remake was also good. ✌️
i love how the list keeps getting longer of who gets the proceeds of their film
Check out the movies Alien Vs Predator(2004) and Anaconda(1997).

Hi everyone!
Godzilla vs kong . Do that please
The original is still the best. However, I like this version much better than the one from the 70’s. The original was one of the biggest influences on Peter Jackson. Kong Skull Island is a surprisingly good move. Godzilla vs Kong isn’t bad. I haven’t seen the latest one yet.

@@courtneywallace871An opinion shared by many. And shared by all with objective brains. Most characters in 2005 are completely miscast. The film is too long, with too many unnecessary scenes and bloated nonsense. It can't even make up what film it wanted to be. It turns into a cringe inducing chick flick buddy movie half way in, totally against the spirit of the original. Some of the action scenes are not only ridiculous but downright stupid.

@@lyndoncmp5751 good for them. They’re all allowed their opinion and I’m allowed mine. The 1976 version is cheesy blech. The best thing about it was it introduced us to Jessica Lange. And some of your criticisms are valid. I’m in no way saying it’s a great movie. Just saying that I like it better than the 76 version.

This is the basic King Kong storyline. You should expect this ending.
You gotta watch Jack Black again in Jumanji, Goosebumps, & Tropic Thunder. It's totally worth it 👌.
I've always felt this movie was a passion project for Peter Jackson compared to Lord of the Rings. The original King Kong is what inspired him to become a filmmaker. He even almost directed Tim Burton's Planet of the Apes remake, too.
