Yeah...
Born into the world of hatred
We are born free
From the restrains of this society.
Helpless to what is instilled
Yeah...
To all those who raise us,
Mold us and shape us.
There is a time to separate from this
A reason why, a state of mind.
There's a disconnection.
A judgement made
Fueled by hate. It's your mistake.
It's a choice you made.
It's tearing us apart!
Hate
Hate by design
Is destroying our lives
Seek to find some understanding.
Redefine your life!
Consequence
Affected in a life that is rejected.
Anger misplaced a burden on our hearts that's keeping us apart.
No love, no understanding.
What we design is hate inside.
A misconception, a judgement made.
It's our mistake we create when we lose compassion.
It's tearing us apart!
Hate
Hate by design
Is destroying our lives
Seek to find some understanding.
Redefine your life!
Redefine your understanding.
Redefine your own life!
Hate
Hate by design
Is destroying our lives
Seek to find some understanding.
Redefine your life!

They're both amazing singers, I honestly don't even know why this is a thing now. People getting all worked up in the debate of which one's better. Jesse respects Howard a great deal and he can't tolerate when people say Howards sucks. SO we as audience should just be greatful that we get to witness such awesome variants and the band is still fucking rocking.

Honestly, all three of them(Howard, Jesse, and Adam) are absolutely amazing, and when you got all three of them singing in the band, there's nothing else that can top it! It's too bad that Howard decided to leave at the time that he did, I would have loved to hear more songs with him and Jesse doing the vocals, but Howard was wanting to branch out, and I can respect that.

Killswitch = my therapist. Literally, saved my life about 20 years back, been paying it forward ever since. Thank you, Jesse, for your messages and bringing awareness. Jesse or Howard, this band has withstood change and time because of great singing, powerful messages people can relate to, solid drumming, and Adam's f*cking insane riffs and shenanigans. That's exactly what's happening. We completely ignore this or that because we have to label and categorize and pick sides. We have become as divided as we were before the civil war. Everyone is taking their corners ready to fight, yet we're ignoring the real problem that is killing all of us, republican or Democrat: GOVERNMENT. One government or another has killed literal billions, directly or indirectly.

Killswitch encapsulates what music should be about. It's about speaking to something that is important but also having fun with the music process. You can tell that they enjoy playing music with each other and the time it takes to make the music. I think Jesse coming back to the band revitalized them. I'm not saying Howard brought it down in any way, they have great songs together. The big thing about them is that they don't take themselves extremely serious. I am sure it is all business in the studio but on stage they break rules and that makes it unique. They kind of remind me of Pantera in that respect.

Solid track. Not only do these guys always bring a great kaleidoscope of musicianship, but they always strive for ,not only positive lyrics, but just great subjects in general; present song included. I hate how the radio thinks people only want to hear songs about heartbreak and 'how much a person can give into debauchery'. Can't we celebrate and enjoy music with more meaning from time to time. I know it can be a buzz kill mentioning topics as such in the mainstream media but songs like this should make people realize to be a bigger person, and evolve beyond old social constructs that should have been abolished years ago. Hope this gets plenty of radio play. Great job, gentlemen. Great Job!

I used to not appreciate Jesse's work... but I have to say, after several years, I am ready to completely think differently about him. He's got some powerful vocals. I used to write him off and say, "Well, I' miss Howard, and want him back." But honestly, I get two versions of one of my favorite bands. Howard is just as much a part of KSE as Jesse, and vise versa. They have both made incredible contributions to the realm of metalcore/metal. I love both of their work.

Born into this world of hatred. We are born free from the restraints of this society, helpless to what is instilled. (Yeah) To all those who raise us, mold us, and shape us: there is a time to separate, from this. A reason why, a state of mind, there's a disconnection. A judgement made. Fueled by hate, it's your mistake, it's a choice you made. It's tearing us apart. Hate, hate by design, is destroying our lives. Seek to find, some understanding. Redefine your life! Consequence, effected in a life that is rejected, anger misplaced. A burden on our hearts, that's keeping us apart, no love, no understanding. What we design is hate inside, a misconception, a judgement made. (a judgement made) It's our mistake, what we create, when we lose compassion, it's tearing us apart. Hate, hate by design, (hate by design) is destroying our lives Seek to find (we'll seek to find) some understanding, redefine your life! Redefine your understanding. Redefine your own life. (go!) Hate, hate by design, (by design) is destroying our lives, (our lives) seek to find, some understanding. Redefine your life

By design is right. It used to be outright ignorance. Now it's more sneaky and almost subliminal in some ways. The push for identity politics being shoved into everything culture marxist indoctrination from kindergarten up through college. Social media algorithms with the flat out intent stir up negative emotions and further divide the public. A constant barrage of dishonest news meant dehumanize others. I feel sorry for younger people where social media has been there since they were young children. It's hard enough seeing through the bullshit at 39.

So I never really got into Killswitch Engage before. I heard My Curse on guitar hero years and years ago, but being a metalcore guy, I just never really came across them again. But I've been listening since the passed 2 months now (still haven't gone through all of it), but I love the album in 2009 all the way through, As Daylight Dies and Incarnate so far. The singer thing.. Idk, I love them both. I wouldn't call one better than the other. The music's kind of different with either singer, so it's like 2 bands in 1. Why complain?
