Watching one pocket for the first time.... This is an amazing style... Mesmerizing!!

I've watched more one pocket than I ever played. It's a thinking person's game that often triggers a spark of creativity. I enjoyed the match and look forward to more accu-stat video matches. Thanks Pat.

Come on!!! It was never about mental, and it's all about physicality and you have to be good at geometry. 🤣🤣🤣

It was very competative game, both players played great. Even though i'm a fan of Efren Scott Frost made Efren worked for the win.This is the first time i watched this one-pocket game.

For all the people complaining, who is holding a gun to your head to make you watch this? There's only millions of hours of content on KZread, maybe watch something else?... Pretty wild thought I know.

At 9:40 in the video. Efrens bank shot reveals that the table was not playing level near his pocket. That is huge, when playing one pocket in my opinion.

Plus, we get stream of consciousness from DI Liberto- haters stifle yourselves- Danny gives options and observations from 50+ years of being a billiard wizard. The thing about options and moves and how Danny points those out is why we leave the audio loud.

Danny has knowledge more than any other commentator. Who ever said something against that he doesn’t know anything about pool. What a great calls he did specially when Efren plays,and usually execute these calls which approves how mindful danny is.

Commentary is fine, not stellar, but not bad either...

♥♥ NOTE: At the 1:13:35 mark in the video, they reset the shot clock, which gives Efren 60 seconds to shoot. BUT, the referee hasn't even spotted the ball that Scott had made in a neutral pocket. That shot clock shouldn't start UNTIL the referee finishes spotting the ball.

you are right. doesn't matter for Efrens shot though, he didn't had to rush. but he gave the red a sideway glance I noticed the second time around I watched this. Thanks to you. thanks LOL

just looking at the spectators, i see rapt attention from old guys who know what they are observing, and being offering a master class in one pocket, mistakes and scratches nonwithstanding.

So many times the older commentator WAS MADE A FOOL for doubting Efren's shots.

'The older commentator' aka Danny diliberto, billiard congress hall of fame, one pocket hall of fame and the straight pool hall of fame, so I think he's entitles to disagree from time to time 🤣

Second time watching this game and I’ve learned a lot, patient is first technic to master

That bottom-right pocket is tilted away from the camera. There've been a couple slow rolls that curved away from that pocket. Just saw another at about 30:50. You can see it on the shooter's face after the miss. I pulled a few frames from the shot and lined up the left-hand-side of the ball. The line created in the first half-second of the roll does not predict the line taken for the rest of it. The deviation is less than a centimeter (he would have missed, anyway) but it's there.

Reyes still playing great matches in his 60s. Pretty awesome! Wish we could have young efren and earl playing these young stars nowadays! Would be fun to watch.

I think efren has improved with age to be honest just with having more shot knowledge and experience

Many of these shots seem unremarkable but executed under pressure. These guys are still great players to me.

To see those carems kisses and banks takes a genius to perform is the excitement of 20 yrs. practice. Great players learn from each shot.

The one commentator literally knows nothing lol. Kept trying to judge their shots prior and was ALWAYS wrong.

That describes exaclty the difference between pool and snooker. No professional snooker player would ever continue playing after comitting a foul on 2 balls. Crude vs. refined.

If you think one-pocket is not exciting, let tell me about Reyes fighting back from way down to make it 6-6, then Frost getting and making a difficult long shot cut bank for 7-6, and an absolutely fabulous cue ball kick into a length-of-table one-rail bank to win the game 8-6 - but it just fell short by six inches. After trading safeties Frost had a sensational shot for the win: a twice-length-of-table double bank for the win. Whooie. Frost made the shots look easy, and I guess they might be easy for him (and Efren, too) since they are common one-pocket shots, but still low percentage, especially that kick-bank from the head of the table into a corner pocket nine feet away, and the winning shot a backward double bank twice the length of the table.

1st time I watched a 1 pocket, dunno how to play it but now I know and I like it. I like the safety game in 9 or 10 ball and this game has lots of safety shots and strategy

Thanks Pat, always enjoy watching Efren. Scott is a great one pocket player, but he is always whining, and making excuses when shots don't go his way. Efren didn't seem to have any problems.

@@AccuStats Actually, looking at it again - there are THREE fouls. One on the stripe as he bumps it with the cue. The second and third are both touches on the 8 ball. I hadn't noticed before that the 8 moves twice. How the hell did a ref not catch this? Given the bridging challenge on the shot, there is NOTHING else more important for the ref to have been watching for and he missed three fouls?

Yeah I made a pro con list and age was one of the cons for me. I am in my early 30's. most pool players are older than me.

Frost is a jerk and a cry baby, he thinks he is the best 1 pocket player in the world, when he is not, Efren is better than he is. He is walking around the table after he shoots, and he even stood behind Efren when Efren was waiting to shoot. If I were Efren I would have told him to sit his big ass down after his shot is over, and tell him to stop standing behind him.
