Kids have no fear when it comes to tring new things...this kid knew he knowed the Metallica songs...I like seeing kids playing guitars instead of setting infront of a game....I hope more start playing music... Rock especially...it was like when I grew up the 80s had EVH...so rock was dying but then the 90s hit and I was a 15 year old kid being turned on to AIC...STP...NIRVANA...PEARL JAM...Weezer...Cranberries...Alanis morsette...and list goes on but the only band I Can think of that came out after the millieum was FFDP...Nickleback...but thats all I can think of at that era...I was so fortunate to be a teen when all the band came out of the 90s...I play guitar for a hobby and can play any song from the 90s...only problem most songs were tuned half a step down...then just a few standard like sabbath...pink Floyd...

He made that kid's life. I just hope he got to keep it and that the parents were strapped for cash or something thus necessitating needing to sell the guitar. But with the video as provenance he could easily sell that guitar for $10 thousand if not more. Take that money and you can buy any guitar/amp setup you want. I'd never sell it though if I had a choice, even though I don't really like that kind of guitar. I'd keep it anyway.

I haven't seen another band that is so interactive with the audience and fellow musicians. I love it

Many artists may have taken offence that he didn't know any of THEIR songs. But he handled it gracefully. This made my day. But probably not as much as it made Collin's & his mom's day. What a great moment for this young man.

I was here live to see this. You cant tell from this video but this was tear jerking and gad the entire sprint center blown over from emotion from this incredibly young and talented kid!

Kid goes back home, later decides to ask parents "Why did the tickets cost so much, I'm like 11 and they're not much better than me!"

Kid takes ones of the greatest musical talents to his knees and just continues to rock it like its a normal day at school for him.. SWEET

What a class act! Makes you believe in humanity again. Wonderful to witness a turning point in that young man's life. Outstanding the way the drummer jumped in and played with the kid and not over him. Classy!

Brandon Grover Agree, it’s something you can only get once. Depends on the money though. I wouldn’t sell it for 10k, but at 100k we’re talking business. You can pay a third of a proper house with that. Life will be easy and there are more guitars on the world to play music on.

How cool of you to give that boy the guitar. You just changed his life into a dedication of music that will shape his life. Good job brother.

I hate to say it but --- Just about EVERY musician (Me included, I play Bass) that plays Rock, == KNOWS == Enter Sandman. It pretty much is a STAPLE STANDARD.

This man along with Bruce Springsteen are 2 of my favourite celebs, the joy and time they give their fans is delightful, that kid will remember that day for the rest of his life. You are a great man Dave, never change!!

Ohhhhhh...that my friend is a shot! And I wholeheartedly agree. I've played drums since I was 9 and my dad introduced me to Buddy Rich playing on The Johnny Carson Show. The old man woke me up at midnight, I was 10... He said, "You want to see a REAL drummer?".

Dave Grohl is the man without a doubt.

Watching Nandi play and the joy on her face lifts my spirits. After the song is over and watching her on the edge of the stage with her hands raise, all I can think is "good for you girl, take it in. You deserve it."

I gather Foo Fighters do this on most of their concerts; bring a youngster up, let them play and give them the guitar. It's such a small gesture for them, but leave a positive impression on both the kid and everyone else there. This is what being a celebrity is about.

Thank you YT rec for never forgetting how much I like this video popping up. Also, just wanted to point out, the kid ends Sandman so smoothly and flawlessly that he deserves an applause for that.

I don't particularly like the Foo Fighters music but damn if Dave G isn't one of the nicest guys! He does this stuff more often than people know and I admire him for it. I love to see things like this. Just awesome.

This may be the coolest thing I have ever seen. Dave was gracious and that boy has a lifetime memory.

Why is this just now showing up recommended? This was really cool. A band that doesn’t get enough recognition.

You ask why the thumbs down from those folks it’s because they are jealous that the kid had more poise In confidence with the guitar then they ever did in the 50 years of existence

When you're already rich and famous, being gracious to a young fan is one of the best things you can do. He created a memory that kid will never forget.

I just watched a half hour of Foo Fighter vids where Dave Grohl is doing unparalleled acts of kindness. I am convinced he cannot be human. Beware people.....decency might be the new way.

Taylor Hawkins is the real deal.

My son who’s 35 has a shipping company near SeaTac airport in Seattle and he’s been shipping Dave’s equipment for years. A couple years ago Dave made all the guys tacos when they delivered his new guitar he had custom made. He’s a great guy! Very humble man.
