@@shineything4444 Image stabilizing in phones isn’t new it’s been around for years. Probably over a decade now. All smart phones have that and it’s not that great. Especially if the image youre recording is at distance or you use the zoom option. It can actually make it worse as it either uses a gyroscopic algorytum which will result in a jumpy mess as it attempts to adjust the image on the fly, or lens focus motion blur. Which only benefits pictures not videos. Image stabilization for video is like autotune, you still have to have a good voice for it come out well.

Man I remember seeing this live, it was a magical experience. The video doesn't show it, but the guy was holding a big sign with "I CAN PLAY THE DRUMS" written on it when Dave Grohl called him over. After he played the song, Dave talked about having asked the guy before playing if he knew the song, and apparently he told him "I know all the songs." Legendary stuff.

this is so fucking cool to see. He is just himself in that moment. Music is a million different languages and everyone on the stage is fluent in rock. The way the bring it down and crank it up, the audience taking over the chorus, what an experience. Richard put on a masterclass here. It is one thing to have the technique to play this and confidence to sit down behind that kit, but also having the right nature to express himself, go with the flow and play around with the other musicians is absolutely legendary. I come back to this video so often, because it makes me feel like we are all going to be ok. Despite all the shit that is going on.

Well said! Did you ever see the college kid who had the balls to play piano with Billy Joel? Billy was at Vanderbilt University in the US, performing a little and was in a Question and Answer phase of the night. People in the audience asked him questions. Well, this one dude stands up, gets handed the mic in the audience for questions, and he goes "Umm, my favorite song of yours is New York State of Mind, umm..I've been very fortunate to play in New York city, and I was wondering if I can play it with you?" Audience gasps a little bit. On stage, Billy fiddles with something in his hand, not answering, and he looks at the kid. The kid says "I would accompany you, that is". Billy goes ".....ok", and accepts. The kid walks up, crowd is lit-up! As he gets on stage Billy is asking him what key he plays it in, kid goes "any key you want it in" :) It's pretty magical. On youtube search for "Billy Joel - Q&A Can I play on New York State of Mind" Enjoy :) (not providing link as some video delete comments with links)

Dave was in awe because Tom Petty was one of HIS idols growing up. And at a point in Tom Petty's life, he was playing with Roy Orbinson, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and others who were Tom's idols. No real point to my comment except to point out that perhaps in the future you will be someone's idol. Conduct yourselves accordingly :P

When he's at a party and people start breaking out the "I bumped into Bill Murray" stories this is exactly the story he should tell instead. If you're wondering, everyone bumps into Bill at least once. You'll probably miss it, but if you pay attention it will happen. Mine happened on a midnight flight from Chicago to Charleston and I have the selfie to prove it. He was absolutely hammered and couldn't have been nicer. When we boarded the plane in Chicago he was the only one on the plane and sitting in what is now known as "The Bill Murray Seat." It's the only seat without a seat in front of it (emergency exit) and I sat next to that space. Basically, I sat next to Bill Murrays' feet.

May your grief over Taylor and the cancelation of the 2022 tour, not end your talent for good. This concert is a testimony to what it means to be a musician. Formed in Seattle, we are proud of you and what you have accomplished. Don't let the pain of loss dampen the flame of passion. Artists of your caliber should always strive forward for yourselves and your fans. It is not a job, it is not a concert, it is a way of life. This was a beautiful reminder that you never know who is in your audience waiting to get up and perform. Keep inspiring.

If the kid couldn’t play, it would look like they were making fun of them and could potentially damage the FF brand. The money handlers would never go for it unless the person chosen was planned for at that particular show. Most likely someone the band knows personally or a mutual friend. Basic risk analysis plays heavy into pulling stunts like this. I would even hazard there was a contract involved to protect parties from potential litigation. It’s not conspiracy, it’s salesmanship.

Musicians work their asses off and aren't really counted as essential to any culture and to top it off, if they manage to get famous, they also lose pretty much all of their privacy. So they essentially trade away everything they love, just to give people a great time. It's not uncommon for musicians to spend 60-80 hours a week on their music, whether it being producing a new song or album, preparing for touring or getting ready for a play somewhere. On top of all that time spent on music, they also have to spend time on meetings with their managers and record labels, as well as studios and meeting with fans. Dave always tells the story of how when he was a teenager, he always dreamed of the moment he would be in a concert and someone would come at the stage and say "Our drummer cannot play tonight, the show is canceled. Unless we have someone who knows all the songs" and then he would show up and save the day. The fact that after all these years, he creates this magical moment for his fans over and over just shows the amazing down to earth man he is. This video made my day! Already my favorite, along with Kiss Guy. The funny thing is that Dave’s dream did come true. He was the unknown drummer of Scream with a scheduled concert in Toronto. When they were setting up the equipment, they found out that Iggy Pop would play there in a private event before their gig. But the production didn’t let them participate, so they went back to their Van to wait until the hour of their concert, really sad that they couldn’t see Iggy. After a while, someone knocked in the window and asked if the drummer was interested to play with Iggy Pop! And the rest is history. Dave tells these stories in his book, the Storyteller.
