Kia Ceo: ''Our New $25,000 EV SUV Shocked The Entire Industry!
-----------------------------
Is this what the EV market desperately need? This is truly making waves and the EV2 is not just like the normal, overpriced EVs that are full of useless features. In fact, Kia is selling this with a starting price of $25,000. Surprisingly, that is not the most interesting part. If we are being honest, we are all tired of the same useless copy-paste EVs. And the industry itself is suffering for it, but Kia seems to know that. While most people were focused on the battle between BYD and Tesla, the Korean underdog seems to be winning for more reasons than one. And it all starts with one thing.

Online ordering sucks. You need a place where you can go get one right away and not have to Waite.

The problem for Kia/Hyundai is that they may have the most beautiful cars, but they simply cannot deliver them in a timely manner. I live in canada and have been waiting for an ionuq5 ultimate for 25 months. I cancelled my order yesterday and ordered a Tesla Y instead which will be delivered Feb 20th. Not even 2 weeks! I have driven 6 Hyundai in the past 25 years and was sold to their brand. They don’t seem to be able to put their act together to deliver their hybrid/Ev cars. That’s a shame.

The sooner they get the KIAEV2 to market without compromising in the reliability , the better. I also believe any slow down in EV sales is due to the soon to be available new models, range and price. The KIAEV2 is my pick at the moment.

I agree, but for many the high current prices is the big factor. Not only the initial outlay but the depreciation. Lower sales prices means they won't drop in value as much. Range is secondary to me as many people don't do long car journeys and use the car for local commutes, shopping and visiting friends and family. Renault, Citroen and Dacia are releasing EVs around the £25k or under price in 2024. Tesla model 2 next year. So this will explode the market hugely. I predict that ICE cars will decline rapidly as we reach 2030. Supermarkets will solve the charging issues for apartment owners. Sainsburys are installing thousands of their own chargers starting now. Other supermarkets will follow and drive the charging cost down.

I will not be interested in any EV model in the UK until the infrastructure , time of charging and price have been sorted out , even then the added cost of a garage will probably put me off

Too many bells and whistles . What ever happened to the practical SIMPLE car? That’s the way to lower pricing and more sales. As an adult you don’t need toys on the road. The attention deficit that gadget monitoring provokes is lethal. Make it simple!😮

Kia… affordable EV. Definitely not in Australia. The EV6 BASE model on road price is more expensive than the Tesla model Y RWD! The EV9 starts at around $107,000 AUD! Makes me wonder if Australians are paying a premium so KIA can sell it cheaper everywhere else.

Still not convinced the U.S. has the infrastructure to support widespread adoption of EVs. I waited 4 months to get a new "regular" hybrid Niro. Maybe in a decade, when the Niro's powertrain warranty expires, things will have changed, but in the meantime, I'm very happy with the Niro while I wait for various pieces of the auto market to come together. I do applaud Kia's stated goal of keeping the price under $25K. Don't know if they can do it, but the EV segment will collapse if all the new models are $75K. Most of us can't afford that.

If it still contains the lithium-ion (NCM) batteries, I would still reject it due to the potential danger of battery fire and the potential need to replace the battery after a minor damage to the battery protection shield at a cost higher than the new car itself.

There are nice EVs out there but a perfect EV? The perfect for me would be the EV that equals to my car. Iam a man who prefers a large, full size luxury automobile which isn't available in to many cars, gas or electric. My car is a large full size luxury automobile. I fuel up once a month, (once a month) and takes me 3 to 5 minutes and not 20 minutes or 20 hours. Now this EV2 has a range of 400 miles? Hey! Getting better but, come out with a range of atleast 500 miles. My car has a range of 570 miles. At 41K it's paid off. The list is long but still, love my jaguar XJl. You can make the EV better. If china can produce an EV with a range of 640 miles, so can the United States. An even better EV yet, if china can develop bullet train technology which is also, (fully electric), the mighty United States of America should of can do it better. You know, the country that can put a man on the moon? Yeah that country. Come out with these long range EVs, now we're talkin!!! Now it's worth it. Till then, Nooope! I'll stay with what i have and leave well enough alone.....

When the EV9 sales reach zero at the end of the year, Kia will go back to making only real cars. The world has now got wise to the greenwashing of EVs and know just how bad for the environment they are. The EV fad is over long live ICE.
