@@trahall05 Khorinis is a small town, but it is correctly depicted. in most games capital cities are as small as khorinis and the ratio of working population, military and special titles is always wayyyyy off. in Khorinis they are very close to the ratio in actual medieval towns.

But the light was a torment for Beliar. All that Innos created, was destroyed by Beliar. Adanos saw that this way, nothing could exist at all, no light and no darkness. And so, he set himself between his brothers in order to reconcile their dispute. Then he did not succed. But there, where Adanos stood was a place in which Innos and Beliar had no power. And in this place, order and chaos were equal, and so the sea was created. And the sea released the land. And there arose all creatures, trees aswell as animals, wolves aswell as sheep. And last of all, arose the human. And Adanos was pleased with what had arrisen, he delighted in all the beings equally. But so great was the wrath of Beliar that he came across the land and chose the beast and Beliar spoke to it and the beast became his subject. Then Beliar gave unto it a portion of his divine power so that it might destroy the land. But Innos beheld what Beliar had done and he also bestrode the land and chose the human. And Innos spoke to him, and the human became his subject. Then Innos gave unto him a portion of his divine power, so that he might undo the work of Beliar. And Beliar spoke to another creature, but Adanos brought forth the tide and the creature was washed from the face of the Earth. But with it, the trees and animals were also washed away and a deep sadness overcame Adanos. And thus spoke Adanos to his brothers: "Never again shall you walk upon my land, for it is sacred and so shall it be!" But the human and the beast waged war upon the land of Adanos and the wrath of the gods was with them. And the human slew the beast, and it entered into Beliar's realm. But Adanos saw that order and chaos were now unequal, and he bade Innos to take his divine power from the human. And Innos, in his wisdom, did so. But Adanos feared for the day in which the beast would return to the land. And so he bade Innos to leave a part of his power in his realm, so that he might restore it to the human, if the beast should return. And Innos, in his wisdom, did so.

Gothic 2 was such an fantastically amazing game in every way. The setting, the ambience, the music, the world, the people, the protagonist, the choices available. I absolutely love it in every way. It's one of the best games ever made. Not necessarily because it does everything right, but because the game culminates into a game that has so much value in total. I've played through the game as every faction, naturally. As every "apprentice". As a thief. Every playthrough brought something new. Maybe a spot in the map that never saw usage in other playthroughs was a major plot spot in others. Caverns that I had missed exploring because they were hidden behind bushes. And then Night of the Raven came along and just gave us so much more to explore.. entwined into the main story so well rather than acting as another "last chapter". I love this game so much. It's easily up there with The Witcher 3. The Witcher 3 is naturally a better game technologically speaking, but relative to their time of release, they are equals to me. Just so much love and attention to detail.

i couldn't put it better myself! i think the same way, but couldn't put it into words. i played the witcher 3 for over 800 hours played on and off from 2015 to 2018 (with upgraded pc on 4k, ultra) but gothic 1 i play since 2002... hahaha... gothic 1 is gotta be my most favorite game of all time. skyrim there... dishonored there... assassin's creed 2 there...

I wanted to write a long comment here praising Gothic to the skies. But everything has already been written. Every comment I read here are words that also describe my childhood experiences. Thank you Gothic for great adventures! 🤩

I am a gamer since my childhood. Like most of us, I also have beloved games that I replay once in a while, however Gothic 2 + NOTR is the absolute favourite. I remember playing it for the first time in my life at the age of 10 or so without understanding English or German, just wandering in the wilderness of the island, visiting the city for supplies and sleep to recover the health of the character. At some point me and my brother (we used to play the game simultaneously from 1 save file, 20 minutes me, 20 minutes him) butchered the villagers at Alrik's farm

Én is tesómmal játszottam még az első résszel kezdtük, ő játszott én néztem jóformán és szóltam akció előtt hogy mentsen :) ez nagyon megmaradt. A 2-t most is játszom így 10+ év elteltével.

Haha that story actually made me smile :D And I have the same urge to play Gothic 2 NotR every winter each year. As a child I was always sick during winters and thus I spent countless ours playing video games, mainly in Gothic. Probably I will replay this title in January :)

Summer of 2003 was amazing thanks to Gothic 2. No other game came close to this game even up to this date. Still the BEST rpg out there.

What I love about the first 2 games is how the music actually sounds like it was made using instruments from that time frame. The 3rd game while having really good music, it's over all just generic fantasy music that seems over imposed.

Man its really sad that you are not uploading videos anymore. I feel like your mixes hit the perfect middlepoint between ambience. And your taste in Music/ Games is incredible.

I love the ingame ambient sounds such as the hammer hitting the anvil or the birds mixed in as if we were listening to the actual game

the hammer hitting the sword in background is just next level, best atmosphere I have ever experienced ever, i couldnt find a replacement for this game :(

Sound of this game is wonderful. No doubt, Kai Rozenkrans is a master. Definitely, his sound themes made my memories and this game unforgotten. I played this game with my old fashion computer in summer of 2007.

what an absolutely masterpiece of an rpg game, the best in the world, after 2003 it was not possible for me to play another rpg anymore like skyrim or anything, i just canceled it delete it, deinstall and replay gothic. now its the year 2023 and still i play this wonderful game once a year and last year, i could not believe it, i find a cave which i never saw before, with permanent things, i really could not believe it. after 20 years and 1000s of hours inside this game you still can find a cave which you never discovered yet. that is the best game ever has been created, i remember i think it was 2006 around when gothic 3 came out, i was the first in the store to get this game and i remember how bugged it was, after 1 day playing, deinstall, deleted, gothic 2 restart. i also remember when gothic 4 came out, i was careful and remember part 3, i played it for half hour, deleted, deinstall, reopen gothic 2. guyz theres a returning mod for this game, that makes the story more than double size, also the map gets double size, its really a fan made project started a decade ago and programmed in perfection. this game is my childhood memory, this game was with me in all chapter of life since highschool, and now listening to the khorinis music let me think about another restart of this game. but with this new mod its a project to do, that takes up until new year, but im going for it!!!!!

i even remember the first time i played this game, it was winter 2003, i had a broken leg, i could not sit properly, i remember at my old pc how lag it was inside this khorinis city and for proper walking i had to look to the floor, what a times it was and how fast the time past by, im getting married next year, but still a part of mine will always be stuck in these kind of games, these games who follow you up until i really dont remember the face of my mother anymore. its games like also age of empires, gta san andreas, and for me also counter strike source, i spend 1000s of hours in these games and gothic is the number one all time. no game created in this world will reach to this athmosphere which gets created. thank you

Perfect timing!!! I'm a huge fan of the saga and i nade a tabletop role playing game based on gothic 1. My friends loved it and your channel helped me a lot building the ambience. In fact they loved it so much that they asked me to make another based on the world of Gothic 2. And just when i'm starting to prepare everything for it you uploaded this. Seriously man, perfect timing. Keep un with the good work, this channel is awesome

Well, basically almost no one knows the saga in my country so i made the game adapting the story of the Nameless Hero in the events of G1 so that , instead of having one protagonist, more people could fill the role. I created a few lists of the weapons, armors, and other items in the game, adapting the numbers and values of their damages, streng/dexterity requirements etc so they would be easier to calculate and made more sense in a game that's using dices. For example a weapon that has 60 damge would simpli add a +6 damage to the character in combat. I also adapted the abilities, the "one handed" skill for example, was an ability that would allow you to have +1 (in a 10-dice, basically +10%) to your hit chance. I made the game in a way that you first need to roll the dice to see if u land the hit, then u roll it again to see how much damage are you dealing. To the hit chance you add the weapon skill (one handed, two handed, bow, crossbow), and you can land a critical hit (10/10 in the dice basically) for some extra damage. To the damage you add the result of the dice, your weapon damage, and your strength/dexterity (wich you'll improve little by little using skill points that i give when you complete certain milestones, these skill points also serve to unlock other skills such as sneak, open locks... etc). As for the magic, i made pretty much the same, and toi give it a little touch, i made the spells more custom, so u can improve certain aspects of some spells (you can improve your sleep rune for example to be more powerfull). I also add some habilities to certain weapons (Innos Wrath has some extra fire damage if he person who's holding it believes in Innos, for example). So yeah, that was it, i added some quests and storylines and they enjoyed it, they ended up defeating the sleeper (although some of them died in the final battle, dammed orcs) and now they are waiting for me to have the gothic 2 role-playing game ready to start it as soon as possible. Sorry for the big text and my horrible english btw

I love that Mix, i was/am writing my bachelor thesis and listing nonstop to thes songs. thank you it realy helps me to fokus and be calm. remembering back to a time when everything was simpler and my only problem was how to get a sheep to the monestary.

The immersion is insane in this game. One of only few games that actually took great care in doing ambience as it is: people talking, birds chirping, sounds of work, everything is here.

This is simply incredible like all of your uploads! Pure nostalgia! Only one thing which bothers me is the atmospheric reverb missing on all the tracks directly taken from the game files, due to such only being applied as a sound effect ingame (damn it, that DirectMusic shit :D). Something which bugs me at the majority of the Gothic OSTs uploaded on YT :( You're quite excellent when it comes to mixing, so maybe you could do it yourself and apply a reverb effect on the soundtrack itself? This would make it perfect! Unglaublich gut, wie alle deine Uploads! Nostalgie pur! Nur eine Sache, die mich hier stört: du scheinst die Musikstücke direkt aus dem Spiel verwendet zu haben, bei denen fehlt der atmosphärische Hall, welcher leider nur ingame als Effekt auf den Soundtrack gelegt wird (DirectMusic sei verdammt :D). Das hört man vor allem bei Trommelschlägen und ähnlichem. Hat mich schon immer gestört an dem Großteil der auf YT hochgeladenen Gothic OSTs :( Du hast ja gut was auf dem Kasten was das Mixing angeht, vielleicht kannst du noch einen Halleffekt auf die Stücke packen? Dann wäre das Ganze einfach nur perfekt!
