Great shave Ken. Can't go wrong with these blades or Proraso white which is made specifically for sensitive skin. These Personna Reds are great in a slant too. I also enjoy these blades in the Rockwell 6C white chrome razor with the #4 base plate.

Excellent shave Ken! I'm a fan of the Proraso line. I have had no problems with the Personna reds. I do get a good shave with them. I also switch things up with other blades as well. Thanks for the great videos.

Good shave, Ken. I've been getting favorable results with Proraso Green lately. All of Captains Choice soaps and splashes are first rate imo. Fwiw, the Personna Red has always given me a crisp shave.

I haven't tried the US ones yet. Germany makes them for the general market now. 😉 AccuTec does the US Personna blades.

You’ve got good taste in watches Ken. I’ve also got a Seamaster. I bought it over 40 years ago so it’s now vintage like me. Hope your 2nd booster went well. I’ve had 2 boosters with no problems. Haven’t tried Personnas yet. Still got plenty of Feathers and Nacets to use

I bought your new brush Ken. I have 4 of your brushes. And yes I am a movie guy. Jurassic World: Dominion is a great film. I have not tried these blades yet. My favorite blades are GILLETTE SWEDES or GILLETTE PLATINUM BLUE BOX. Great shave as always. Stay safe!

Personna Red's are nice, but I noticed that blades in that category of sharpness ( say 4/5... personna reds, perma sharps, etc.) leave my skin more raw/sensitive. I prefer Astra green's or voskhods (more medium sharpness) with a more aggressive razor (setting 7 on Slim Adjustable for me) makes a perfect shave. I also noticed that for me, the Personna Red's lasted one or two shaves at most but I can easily get 3 or 4, maybe 5 shaves out of a single Astra Green depending on how much hair is cut off on those shaves.

I'm speechless. Made my day Ken! Looks like some awesome products. (I agree with the other comment) Like the look of that brush! EDITED: ----‐‐----------------------------- LOL! Now that I watched the video through, that's exactly what seems to be most people's experience. Hit or miss with Red Personna blades. But when you get a good one, it's very smooth. And for those out there asking, I personally think Personna Blue is on the shaper side and lasts for several shaves. 😉 Thanks again Ken! P.S. If anyone has used Personna X-Series DE blades, I'm curious how those compare. (Apparently used in the barbershops for shaping sideburns and beards.)

I don't understand the trolls, Ken. Does it really matter how much beard growth there is?? You're shaving! I shave my neck every day. More for feel than looks. I hate it when my stubble grabs on my collar. Can't wait to see that konsul!

Hey Michael try Derby USTA blades.they are smooth and mild. I use them mostly in my aggressive razors.hope it helps.

Great shave Ken. I look forward to your use and opinion on the Rex Konsul. I've been waiting to get one since March here in the UK. They seem to be in very short supply and also very limited stockist too (we only have two stockists in the UK). I would get it from Razor Emporium, but the customs fees etc in the UK are ridiculous for items from the US.

Great shave. I’ve tried the Personna Platinum blades before and I actually dig them for their medium sharpness and excellent smoothness. It’s been a while since I last used them, so I hope to get back to them at some point. The Personna Blue is also like that, but it was also very efficient in the KCG razor that I often use. There’s other blades that I also like that I would love to recommend to Michael to give a try such as the Kai, Gilllette 7 O’Clock Super Platinum, Crown Stainless, Derby Premium, among many others I can name other than the more popular and underrated ones on the market. As for Netflix, you should watch The Departed, which is one of my favorites and it’s currently available to watch on Netflix. Have a good one!

Hey Thanks! Funny, I had seen a comment of yours before on Ken's Channel, I think about Personna. Gillette 7 O'clock seemed to tug in the green box. (I'll have to try them again.) Astra Green seems amazing for me. (Lasts 3 or 4 shaves.) Voskhod is good. Gillette Platinum works wonders for me. One of the longest lasting, sharp though! Gillette Nacet (very similar) a bit sharper.(Maybe?) I find PermaSharp very smooth and sharp (3 shaves maybe.) I mostly use Merkur 34C, Edwin Jagger DE89, and Merkur Progress Adjustable. I've also tried Derby Green, Feather (sharp of course, but rougher than most for me), Gillette Silver Blue (dull, tugged), and the Merkur that came with one of the razors. (It was awful.) Maybe a dud, because my razors are great by the same company. Thank you again GoldenSteelTV. ~Michael~ P.S. I love my Personna blades MADE IN GERMANY now, and I tried an old Personna Red and it was just what Ken experienced. Seemed good (smooth and sharp) this particular time. German Personna seems a bit sharper than before. AccuTec still makes the "Lab Blues" if still with that branding or slightly different.

Ken 💈🪒nice shave. I've had the REX "Konsul" slant razor for some time already, fantastic shaver and one of my top choices. I may have been in the first release IDK, it was at least a month after they announced availability when I purchased. Personna(Israeli)Red blades are a go to for me, either package Red or UK as they're the same blade and I liked them so much I bought 500 of them😊 Eucalyptus will be my next soap/splash when both are available. Nice video and results of this shave, gotta love the burn man. Enjoy!

500? Good. The factory over there stopped producing them it seems, but they make a blue pack with gold strip around it Made In Germany now, which seems to work great for me.

the green proraso has eucalyptus scent , regards robert , for me the personna red are not so good as i expected , in my humble blade den I have around 5500 blades , the best ones are for me , treet , lord , nacet, wilkinson sword , astra , voskhod and the smoothest one is tiger platinum , regards robert

I guess that Proraso white is supposed to be for sensitive skin from what I've read. The head design of that Edwin Jagger 89 reminds me so much of the one on my "King C. Gillette" razor. Glad to hear you got the "Shingles" vaccine... With all the Covid vaccines and one booster I put my "Shingles" vaccine off until mid May. I came down with Shingles on May 2nd. I don't know how bad the shot would have been, but I would bet a great deal that the illness (having had it for 6 weeks now) is worse. I've read that for some reason having Covid is making people 15% to 20% in the 50 to 70 age group more likely to come down with Shingles. Aren't we lucky. Anyway, enjoyed the video as normal, take care, see you in the next one. William C. central Indiana.

@@kensurfs Thank you very much. Yeah, the rash and pain is one thing, but what truly has surprised me with the illness is the fatigue and the time it takes for it to go back into remission. I'll be getting the vaccine as soon as it is safe to do so. And a Covid booster too I guess. LOL...

OPINION ON PERSONNA BLADES: Each person is often different from other persons, but I did not like any personna double edge blades which I tried. Always more irritation than I want.

I've never tried the Personna Reds, but I bought a box of the Personna Blues several years ago. It was a box of 100, and I still have at least 80 left because they're absolute trash. I know so many shavers swear by them, and I don't know if I just got a bad batch, but I can't even get through a single 3-pass shave without them going dull and tugging like crazy. I keep them tucked away in the back of my blade drawer for emergencies, but it'd have to be a pretty desperate emergency for me to dig them put. Just awful.

Same opinion of blues. Start dull and rapidly become duller still. Never tried red or med prep but am prejudiced against doing so by my experience with blues.
