I've been looking forward to this one! You must go on a launch day, it is spectacular. This was an emotional video for me because I was at the launch of the Columbia - the one that didn't come back. I teared up when I saw the cockpit windshield on display. I just recently posted the video I took on my channel because I wasn't able to watch it for years. If you want to check it out, it's called "The Final Launch of Space Shuttle Columbia (STS-107)". It was THE highlight of my trip, but left a deep emotional scar with how the mission ended. It's hard for me to watch my footage, but I felt it was time to upload it to preserve the memories of the astronauts who gave their lives for science. I hope you return in the future on a launch day!

The pieces off the challenger and Colombia was the recovered piece after one blow up on take off and the other exploded on entry. The fallen friends are the crew from both missions that exploded, that part made me cry. Just seeing all the personal belongs. Just such an amazing place and doesn't get the same recognition it deserves, in my opinion much better than Disney or universal.

14:20 - Had no ideas the space station travelled that far in a day. Especially impressive given the analogy of driving in a straight line at top speed in your car (120mph) to the moon and still not getting there after a year of continuous driving.

Great video! Well done for giving a great review of all of the different areas ! I have t been for a few years and it has changed so much - this is a great update and some great tips. If you go on your own, check if they still do bus tours of the Cape Canaveral Air Force station. It covers the pre Apollo history and you see some great historic places and go deep into the old Kennedy Space Centre. Not sure if it’s running again yet but definitely check - you still end up at the Saturn V centre and so you don’t miss anything. Maybe worth thinking of having a 2 day visit if you do this though as there is so much more to see!

I totally agree with what you said about the Shuttle Atlantis ❤️ so magical seeing it up close 😀. Vacationed in nearby Cocoa Beach, Florida with my family in October 2017 when we went there. Simply to see Atlantis and the bus tour seeing the Vehicle Assembly Building both were worth the trip & money on their own, however, everything else made the trip even more spectacular! I also agree with planning 2 days to see everything. We arrived 1 hour after opening and stayed until closing and still missed quite a bit. I also wish we would have done what you did by starting with the Atlantis, then bus tour, then everything else. We caught the last bus tour of the day and they make everybody leave the Saturn V building 30 minutes before closing time 🙁 we missed a lot there and that was extremely disappointing 🙁 but was happy to see what we did see and to simply be at KSC 😀. I would definitely also recommend going to the Universe Theater & meeting an astronaut 😀 we met Bruce Melnick that day & it was so fascinating to hear his stories and getting to ask questions and we got a picture taken with him afterwards ❤️😀 my only regret is that we missed the opportunity to go to the main gift shop when he was giving away signed photographs however it was definitely an experience we didn’t expect to have however so happy we did! I also agree with IMAX. The movie was cool, we watched the 41 minute movie, however I wish we had done something else instead and watched that only if we had time. There was so many cooler things to do that we missed because of that. I hope that we get the chance to return someday and do not only all that we missed but also to see Space Shuttle Atlantis and the VAB up close again. I am happy you got the chance to go experience KSC & that you had such a great time awesome video that brought back a lot of amazing memories ❤️!

Years ago I was doing a 3 month consulting job in the Orlando area and actually stayed at a Marriott condo village on the I drive. One day I had a meeting in Fort Lauderdale and suddenly was trapped in stopped traffic. All of a sudden I saw this huge plume of white smoke heading upwards and it dawned on me that there was a shuttle launch that morning I completely forgot about. There is always something going on in central Florida! Alway keep an eye out for the lizards and flying cockroaches, they try to be cute and call them palmetto bugs ... but they are roaches! 😝

I would love to go and see Atlantis up close as I saw Atlantis launch in July 1992 Mission STS-46 and about a week later heard from Orlando the double sonic boom.Been to the centre twice before.1999 our BA flight its path into Orlando came in over the Centre over the assembly building and the launch pads that were there for the shuttles.

i've been around 200M from the launchpad, with a shuttle on it! this was 30 years ago and when you was in a wheelchair, you had a member of staff drive your car instead of going on the bus. we went up this dirt road, then we saw blue flashing lights in the mirrors, so i can say i've been closer to the launch-pad than most!
