I went to Florida earlier this year for the first time. I knew SpaceX's cadence is insane so I just planned to be in Titusville for 5 days and assumed there would be at least 1 launch. I got lucky and saw two. I saw a night time Starlink launch from the 401 space force viewing area, and then I also saw Axiom 2 from Playalinda beach which had a RTLS and was crewed. It really is awesome that if you stay a few days, you're pretty much guaranteed to see a SpaceX launch. Was an amazing experience to see a rocket launch for the first time, and not just any rocket launch, but a crewed one.

In 1995 we tried to catch a shuttle launch while camping at Disney for 10 days. The launch kept getting delayed due weather. We finally had to leave Disney. We went to our next campsite at Cocoa Beach. We got there a half hour before the shuttle launched. Great view and wonderful time.

The 401 Space Force viewing area was my favorite for RTLS. For some reason someone suddenly decided the site was a security concern. Got to find a new place now☹. Since most space x launches happen a night now, my other favorite, PlayaLinda is mostly out of the question. so I watch NSF on a big screen and run to my back yard at T -0😁BTW, there are a buchn of small area and a few restaurants on US1 south of Titusville with good view. I watched SLS from Shiloh steak and grill.

OR you could watch from my front yard 11 miles from 39A. 😁 You may have to wait a few seconds for it to clear the trees but you have NSF coverage for that 😉 No parking fees. No traffic. No people being peopley. A really really short commute!

I live in Clermont, 20 miles west of Orlando, and all I need to do is find an unobstructed view of the horizon to see a launch. If you want to restrict yourself to night launches, you can see them anywhere in the state. I watched a night shuttle launch from Miami.

Space view park is great if it is a week day or a non-noteworthy launch. For a crewed launch you will need to either very early or look for another place.

SpaceX with its insane launch cadence is making it much easier to catch a launch out at the cape. I’m on the West coast and have only seen 2 launches from Vandenberg, little more difficult to catch one from there. One day I will visit the cape and I will make sure to watch this video again

Jetty park is ok but the near ground view is very obstructed. YOU can access the beaches all along Cape Canaveral, all with good parking, just south of there for perfectly good views that are equal to and often better than Jetty park and with no admission cost. ONce New Glenn starts launching, that will be even better since the entire coastal area has clear, nearly unobstructed, views to Pad 36. THe Falcon 9 launches are great from these same beaches even though view is obstructed at near ground level. i rent a condo in this area every Christmas and often just walk out onto the beach for launches. and FYI, this is a great area to visit, with excellent beach, great views of the cruise ships, lots of restaurants and other family friendly attractions and services. The Banana RIver viewing area at KSC generally involves special admission tickets that are sometimes pricey but good for pad 39A Falcon launches. I saw first Falcon Heavy from here via a package marketed by the operator of the Visitor Center. They did a great job and it was well worth the 150 dollar price I paid for that special launch.

when did the Route 401 area close to public? I have watched Atlas 5 launches from there just outside the gate and it is a good site with lots of parking, bleachers and lighting. Nearly ideal depending on which pad is in use.
