Thanks for the nice video review! I love the background, having grown up on a farm, it makes me home-sick a little but sure does add a lot to the "feel" of your video. I wanted a Kelly Kettle system for over 25 years but it was never a priority. Not long ago, I found the Ultimate Base Camp kit on sale for not much more than it was years ago, so, I ordered it and am actually glad I waited all these years because it came with much more than I would have received years ago, for not much more than back then. Thank you for a really nice video and honest demonstration, I appreciate your opinions and candor.

I just took delivery of the base camp with extras and I gave it a trial run boiling water and Im stunned how quick it is, once u position the hole in the wind , it roars, super excited to use this on my next wild camp.

Great review I have the base camp as well for 3 plus years now, I like it a lot the extra water comes in handy for cleanup compared to smaller Kelly kettles. But just from my experience my buddy got the aluminum Kelly kettle and melted the side out of it, his fault never had enough water in it. So that is a concern with aluminum but still a great. Got a full boil in 6 minutes at -15 Celsius and like you said no fuel to carry. Take care and enjoy the out doors

I would much rather watch reviews of equipment that have been used for awhile instead of these "unboxing reviews! Yours is old and used, I can tell by the cork bung. I have the Scout and the Trekker. Would like the BaseCamp, but can wait. @ cloudraker100... Unless you are a UL hiker, the bulk is not that bad atall. You can ditch a water bottle and use this as a canteen for your dayhike if you want. win/win... function over fashion :)

Here in orkney islands in uk most farmers have one these in the back of the landrover, was a bit shocked how much you guys pay for them over there as here they are about 25 pounds.

Looks good, only things I can see is the amount of water you would need to carry, and fresh food.

Its a system I am on the fence about. I really like the concept but the bulk of even their small model gives me a pass...for now.

It's unique. I just got the trekker as well. It is a lot smaller. Watch for more Kelly Kettle videos in the future.
