The firebox especially the titanium version is the king 👑 of wood stoves 🤗

Everyone always advertises those butane and propane stoves. This is the real deal. Not always gonna have corporate distributed gas canisters around in a survival/camp scenario. Much more realistic and useful for long term. Unlimited uses

Original Firebox all day every day. Love it long time!

I’ve just found your channel . I loved watching your reviews, especially when you explained some of the drawbacks. Especially those needing a lot of fuel. Years ago in a moment of clarity, I bought the original firebox nano 1st generation ( the one without the tray) and it saved my bacon. I had no access to my bank account for 2 weeks and I was wild camping on a beach in Tenerife until my flight. I ran out of money and couldn’t buy gas for my burner. All I had was the Nano. Because I was on a beach, with other people camping nearby, there was no firewood available but the Nano ran on twigs! So I was able to cook my food and make coffee. I love that little thing. I still take it with me today. It folds up so small, you don’t even know you’re carrying it. I just wanted to big up the Nano. I also just subscribed to your channel because I like your style and your honest , proper reviews. Thanks for this.

My favorite design is the licksada like a tour of a castle.

The Firebox can use wood, pellets, propane, sterno, solid fuel or charcoal. Not only do they have that baking system, there is an option for the Billy can to be a steamer and there is also a pizza stone and they’ve just come out with a rotisserie system. There is an upgrade to a leather case. Those hooked rods can also hang the grill grates on the side like a shelf to keep things warm. I haven’t seen a compact camp stove that is as versatile. I watched a video explaining the hole pattern on the side which had to do with the physics of the design, heat direction, etc. I’ve ben looking at camp stoves and reading reviews and I haven’t seen a stove that offers me the choices the Firebox does. At this point that is my number one contender as I won’t be hiking so I don’t need something light.

Ad I saw first on this video was from Solo Stove... which make camping stoves that I have used with a carbon steel wok and the pots and tripod and so on. I can use about any dry biofuel

07:01 If you stack the wood nice and tight, standing it up vertically in the stove, you'll get a longer burn. That means you can cook up whatever you want without the constant hassle of refueling.

Awesome vid - I was fully expecting to be convinced to buy a Firebox but then you demo'd the Pico Grill ... soooooo thin and light :)

I have a Solo Titan which is perfect for me. It's like having a single burner gas stove out in the field.

Fan of Firebox Stove. Only manufacturer I know of that takes his designs out and uses them on their channel. Haven't gone wrong with any that I've purchased and I'll definitely be in this upcoming Kickstarter.

My Tomshoo titanium works great as a windscreen for my Trangia stove and a back up twig stove in case I run out of alcohol. Then I take a pint of whiskey in case I run out of food.

Great collection you got there Andy! I have the baking kit too but still use my bushbox with it with a extra pair of trivets. It is a little bit wobbly but I prefer the bigger feeding hole in the bushbox.

I have one of those gasifiers, Ouhuhu branded but looks 100% the same you can use meths, twigs, solid fuel tabs, lots of options out the box but I've drilled through the ash pan to let me feed my gas stoves line through, using the gasifier as a windbreak and pot support for those times actual fire isn't a clever optiom.

Kent, I didn’t know you before this video, but I have watched more and I have grown found of you. Anyway, I watched this one year ago, and you convinced me to try the picogrill. I actually got a really good knock-off from Amazon Japan called Huanbush, and I am overjoyed. Truly, thank you for showing me this kind of stove! I’d never have the cash for a real picogrill and got both 85 and 239 knock-offs for 30€, incl shipping AND some skewers for the bigger one. I am in love with these. Got a cheap titanium pot as well, and my wood stove cookset weighs less than some backpacker’s kits, And I do actual cooking with these! I’d buy you a pint if I could

that pico stove is interesting but I would be afraid of it breaking with how thin that metal is. Would also be pretty fun with that brew kit if you were stuck on a highway in the winter due to traffic or whatever and while everyone else is just stuck in their cars you get out set up a little wood stove and make yourself coffee.

Great video, and cheers from across the pond. I’ve bought a handful of these stoves testing options for myself and students on courses. With increasing fire regulations finding methods that are approved and safe for the majority has taken precedence here.

I have the scout . I got it through the Kickstarter program too . I have a few lixada stoves as well . They make a hinged corner ones but I haven't got one yet . Great video as always Andy!! Take care and stay safe my friend !!!

Hi Andy, greetings from suny Malaysia 🇲🇾. Great review of numerous wood burning stoves. I have a couple of them in my collection already but having bought a Firebox stove a few months back, this is now my go to as it is so flexible with wood, wood pellets, soild fuel tablets and an alcohol burner inside on the firesticks. Yes the steel one is a bit heavy with all the accessories but it's definitely my favourite 👍. ATVB and stay safe 😷

I have a folding stove with the 12 Survivors brand on it, the sides are hinged and only need to lock in one corner and comes with an ash pan for the bottom and a grill for the top which stabilizes the stove. I added a couple tent stakes to give me a few more options. I have used it as a wind screen for my homemade alcohol stove. not sure if you have heard of 12 Survivors but thought you might be interested in looking it up

Usefull information here, it has nicelly confirmed my opinion on chosing firebox as my go-to stoves, G2 is awesome, now the firebox freestyle is my favourite one, when i am all alone, as a weight reduction from the fact the G2 weights about a kilogram (I dont need the titanium ones, i thing the extra 0,5kg is nothing, I am not an UL hiker or something like that). Thank you!

That picogrill fire pit one does look very good. Might be one I'll be looking at over the popup pit once I see you review it

I'm a painter. I use two or three brushes to do a painting usually. I have dozens of paint brushes. It's what we do, isn't it?

I really like my PicoGrill. Expensive but ridiculously light and gives a great burn. I have a few other stoves, but this is a permanent fixture in my backpack now. Nice succinct, informative vid mate, atb, Andy

Thanks for the review! The PicoGrill looks like a good design. Good point about gasify stoves, that they burn through wood too fast and hard to maintain fire.

Great review Andy. I bought myself a ‘slot together’ Lixada stove to,as my first stove. Proper pita! In the end,I cut all the tabs off and hinged it all together with a length of cut up piano hinge. It’s not bad now. Regards.

I think you would love the Qiwiz Firefly. This stove is insanely light (76g) and you can shut the hole for the sticks, what I really like.

Awesome video Firebox is coming out with a new stove in early March on Kickstarter called the Freestyle many different configuration’s -4 inch box, fire trough, triangle, etc.

Thats a great selection of stoves Andy. I've been using the Folding Firebox for years and have both stainless steel and Titanium versions.

Hi great video, the cheap SS folding stove at 5.11, a simple mod is to remove the 2 centre hinge pins, make another 2 longer hinge (L shaped) pins from a metal coat hanger, drill 2 holes in the ash pan. push the pins through into the ash pan. Also cut some mesh / grill to a tight size to fit on top of the existing internal grill, the result is a very sturdy stove. EWM as you might have seen also reviewed a very cheap stove + table recently which you might want to take a look at. Cheers barneey

What an assortment of wood burners. I spied some I have but missed the top three for my use. The Titanium Firebox Nano Gen 2 , The Solo Stove lite and last but not lease the Vargo Hexagon titanium stove. The Vargo I drilled three holes ( 3/8 Th inch ) In a Diamond configuration , in ever other panels base area to increase ventilation.

And I thought I had a stove addiction! Lol. I have 5” Firebox, the nano and the Scout, great stoves, however lately I’ve been drawn to the Picogrill because is so light weight, I have the 85, but I suggest you try the other models that you can use as fire pits as well, you won’t regret it. I have the 320 and the 760. The 760 I use mainly as a fire pit, I have put fairly good size pieces of wood, including Ash and Oak and haven’t had any warping issues. Thanks for the video.👍🏻

Have the gasifier stove for a few years now. It is very efficient. Like all the stoves you mentioned, you must control the fuel input to set the cooking temperature. Cooking on coals is the best way to cook but none of these are great at producing even cooking coals (wood fuel, sticks) to cook on without some modification...ie. limiting the size of the air holes in the coal tray w/ aluminum foil...for example. Using just one or two charcoal briquettes is an easy way to control heat w/o too much flame or on the flip side having the flames go out. Hot briquettes is an easy and lightweight way to reestablish a flame with no effort. This method keeps hot coals always available. For an indestructible stove, it's light weight and cost....still around $22. usd, this is an amazing stove which can be used with a Trangia stove, too. Much more than just a "boil water stove" imho. THANKS FOR SHARING the charcoal hack. Using hardwood briquettes is the best way to control top and bottom heat on cast iron ovens as well.

I got the unigear wood stove and I got it for a bugout scenario i figured people that use a propane stove will run out and with wood burning stove you can use the elements around you. When we had that coronavirus pandemic I hurried up and bought my bugout gear items 😀 great video mate..

Great reviews. I bought the Wild Stoves Woodgas Campstove - it's brilliant. And yes, I do need to feed it about every10 mins but its sturdy, easy to put together and gives out amazing heat. cheers

Nice review. I like the gasifiers with less smoke. Handy if family members have asthma and such plus it is nice if doing any sort of "low presence" camping.

Exactly. The gasifier is perfect for a quick brew on a woodland walk. Undetectable once it's going.

I believe it's the Bushcraft Essentials bushbox LF (Large folding) , not XF. The bushbox XL (steel version) is great, very robust, both are easy to set up and fold away, but the XL a bit heavy great review though.

Andy, you DONT have enough stoves mate, you can never have enough lol. I just bought the Firebox stove and that is defo my favourite now, the most technical one to use I reckon. I actually didn't know there was so many, nice to see some I didn't know about, maybe i'll be nice to the wife today and mention I might need a new one👍Yet to get a Bushbox. Cheers.

The pico is so light and puts out some serious heat. It’s hard to argue against it being the best backpacking UL stove. And I use one all the time. But if I’m in a canoe, boat or truck, the titanium firebox, the king of stoves, is my favorite. The most versatile stove on the market.

Thank you for the review Kent. For me, the bushbox seems the best choice by far. I own the XL titanium, and the only drawback is the price. The pico might be a fallback for emergencies, or as you said, you got it in the backpack all the time because it is so lightweight. GOOD! Anyway, cooking is more than fiddling a pan on a razorblade like clashing steel sheet. No way! My 4ct.

5:08 I have one of the Chinese box stoves. Got it recently. Used it a handful of times with a kerosene jet coil burner inside (haven’t used it with wood yet). They do seem rickety. The top grate can be slid off if you aren’t careful moving the pot. Mine came completely wrapped in blue protective membrane, but the membrane was placed before they built the stove. So the membrane was under the rivets, latches, and hinges and was impossible to entirely removed before use. The stove works, but I really don’t like the top grate. It’s not fastened down in any way and just sits atop. I didn’t get any extra pins for the Trangia burner. My recommendation is to buy the stove because it’s cheap, but then modify it to suit you.

The Quesha Decathlon stove is a secondary burn gasifier type stove BTW

I got onto a stove buying kick a few years back and the one I like the most is the Emberlit FireAnt. I have one in all my kits now. Small enough to store anywhere, will use wood, solid fuel tabs, or accepts an alcohol stove. I thought I was over my stove obsession, but your video has made me want to try a couple more. Back when Emberlit just came out, I got 1 of the original Emberlit stoves. I have never gotten around to using it. Guess I need to dig it out and give it a shot. I got it because the guy who designed snd sales them was on z survival forum I was on, so I got 1 of his stoves.

Nice collection 🔥. Looking forward to some FireBox Baking videos. I’ve had my FireBox stove’s for a few years & picked up the 16 cm pot & bake set around Christmas time. Still haven’t tried it because it’s still very much winter here 🇨🇦. But I have tried the bread pans in the kitchen oven, tip bake with them at home a few times because they will stick. I did season the pans but still had trouble getting the bread out.

Try this; butter the pan - _real_ butter. Then flour it.

I've just bought a Temu stove - the "budget" one that is more "rickety" than the Firebox. You've been spoiled, you snob! Lol. Some of us have to do this on a budget, and for me, it will do what I need it to do. It's also a step up from a tiny snap open solid fuel block army stove, but a step down from the larger and heavier butane single ring camping stove, which I use when I'm with my car. I'm a disabled, so I struggle to walk far now anyway, but this wood burning one is more sustainable than a gas stove.

Love my twig stoves!!

IMO the best camp stove is a rock fire ring, with a fire inside it. nothing beats what we find on the earth. :)

Great video. I've just got the Evil Eye in titanium. Not used it yet but looking forward to doing so. It's replacing a cheap Chinese micro wood burner of similar design but to small. Giving that one to my daughter to use on summer garden camps.

Good comparison video, I have three wood burners so far, a SS angry eyes from onetigris which I really love, a SS gasification stove and my favorite is the boundless voyage gasification stove. The boundless voyage Ti folding stove is on the way and I'm guessing it will become my new favorite, addictive little stoves that are fun to use.

Great stove reviews Andy. this was a enjoyable and informative video. I prefer my Firebox i own quite a few and found them the best i have done everything from big dinners, to breakfast to a quick hot meal and tea on the side of a mountain deep in backcountry and the firebox has held up. I have baked alot from peach cobbler to a 3 layer cake. I have burned wood, pellets and even briquets and had a 14" dutch oven on it and never had any issues. Cheers.

Hey take a look at seige stoves they have a set of titanium cross bars for the top and bottom of any can. These cross bars turn any size can into a stove.
