When KC sings it’s sublime. Old, new, cover, original, genre bending…doesn’t matter. It s a standard in the industry that needs to be met. KC is the “bar” for what real music should be.

It was a pleasure to be at this concert. I was not that familiar with Ms. Clarkson. Her open song, done a cappella, blew me away. I am now a devoted fan and look forward to watching her. I’m sad that it took me so long to recognize one of the greatest talents the world has to offer. I saw Cher the week before in Detroit and wondered what Kelly could do to be on par with the show Cher put on. Cher has numerous costume changes and the glitz and glam of Hollywood. I didn’t think Ms. Clarkson would have much to offer in comparison. Without glitz and glam, Ms. Clarkson’s amazing voice and adorable personality was equal to the great Cher. Kelly Clarkson is truly an American Idol.

She's simply the best vocalist of the past decade and a half. She could go toe to toe with Linda Rondstat. Clarkson can sing rock, pop, country, dance, gospel, classic standards, alt rock, Broadway, etc. Her covers of Radiohead's Creep and Mazzy Star's Fade Into You are incredible.

I love Kelly and I'm glad that she could carry her own in this song. The thing about Brandi Carlile is that she not only has this really interesting and beautiful tone but she has outrageous vocal fortitude. If most people tried to sing the way she sings on a regular basis they would just destroy their vocal cords. She is a monster and it is a testament to Kelly's skill as a vocalist that she is able to really go for those bigger notes. Good job.

Haven’t ever been a huge fan of Kelly’s singles or albums except for a few songs. But I do believe she is one of the best vocalist of our times and love her. She can sing, cover anything, and puts so much emotion into every song.

Wow, that song has so many key moments that are pure Brandi I wasn’t sure Kelly’s clean tone could pull it off, but wow! She looked like it was cathartic to sing Joke!

I can't tell you how much I love this song! Brandi Carlile, is an underrated artist is right! This was a good cover of this song. The way Brandi, pours her emotions out when singing "The Joke?" Is really something! I love all "Brandi Carlie's," songs & she's trying hard to make a change for woman!

This is the first time I have heard Kelly Clarkson singing The Joke. This is one of my all time favourite songs and Kelly crtanily does it justice.

I suspect I am going to be guilty of not paying Kelly the respect she deserves - super performance.

Singing this song has little to do with the vocals. It's all about having understanding of what we different people have been through. Kelly has been an ally of us gay folks for many years. She has heard about and seen the pain we have endured, so it comes thru in her voice. The song is a prayer. I treat it like a church when I hear it.

What an awesome song!! I think what I love most about Kelly Clarkson is that she Empowers all Female Artists And Female Artists Empower All Women❤

KC is simply a superb vocalist who is constantly taking chances and proving her chops. BC is one of those vocalists that few can even attempt to cover. I just think KC is a music lover and happily promotes other artists by covering their work and introducing them to people who may not have heard of them before. Good on ya Clarkson!

Kelly Clarkson is talent, she did a good job on this, I love her and her music and her tone. When you hear someone of her caliber struggle a little bit on this cover (and she acknowledges it) it is shocking, even to a long long time fan of Brandi Carlile’s, to hear and really understand what immense talent she has. The fact that she has done her own thing, sang from her heart and written from her soul from the beginning of her career, and has now hit the mainstream with no apologies or compromise is validation that she is a legend in her own time.
