this was kellin's demo to join the band. this is his version of the song over me playing some of the song on acoustic guitar. kurt ended up joining and wrote his own version. that's why theyre different.

@@yungtraplord1077 I think Kellin Quinn's vocal color is the best part of his singing. It's not just that he sings high, but he genuinely sounds very feminine in a way that most other tenors in emo don't. It's awesome.

I feel like this is something from an alternate timeline that shouldn't exist.

I've loved dgd forever honestly and I know this is pretty old but I used to listen to sleeping with sirens all the time, and knowing that this is a thing and hearing his own creative interpretation of the song and his ability to make it his own is incredibly impressive. Contrary to most of the negative comments, he adapts his voice and the guitar riff to a creation of his own and it turned out rather beautiful in my opinion.

As a die hard DGD fan, I'm very glad this didn't happen. Although, this sounds pretty cool, he wouldn't fit any other DGD material.

I thought this was a joke at first 😂 shocked to say the least, it does sound very not of this specific timeline we're in rn.

Hearing this just feels dirty.

As much as I don't care for Sleeping With Sirens, I actually enjoy Kellin's voice. It would've been interesting to say the least.

Honestly not the biggest sws fans, but I would love for kellin to be a dgd vocalist for a while. He's got a great voice, and they'd probably do some nice rnb inspired music.

I wish he'd make a full cover of this tbh

I personally think this piece sounds amazing for just a "what if."

Overall, yeah I'm glad they didn't pick Kellin. That's not to say it wouldn't have been interesting to see what DGD would be like with him. Like, I just think it would be really interesting to hear him write vocal parts for Alex English or Me and Zoloft.

I don't think Alex English or Me and Zoloft would exist (or at least exist as they do now) had Kellin joined the band. He doesn't have the stream-of-consciousness, non sequitur, surreal writing style that's a Dance Gavin Dance signature

Tbh this isn't that bad but I would have been weird if he officially joined DGD in glad they went with Kurt because his voice went really well with the era of DGD he was in if Kellin was in it it probably wouldn't be has good like the lyrics Kelin chose for this song isn't my as catchy as how Kurt made it but it would have been interesting to hear a full studio album with Kellin in it but I probably wouldn't like it but I would have been interested in hearing it

I played literally 1 second of the song and 1.) I freak out over how beautiful it already is 2.) I start crying...I don't think i can listen to the rest of this song without freaking out >.>

Shawn Woods ik everyone keeps saying they wouldn't want Kellin to be the singer but the thing is I don't think he was ever meant to. I think this was just an audition for the second singer in uneasy hearts. Kurt was a lead but if you listen to the actual song you here there's a second person in there.

Erika Pettway that is nic newsham in uneasy hearts he was offered the lead singer position of dgd but decided not to join. he became good friends with the band and thus was featured on uneasy hearts. kellin did try out to be the lead of dgd but they declined him as he didn't have the kind of sound they were looking for

this is cool and everything, but can you imagine the mass exodus of fans leaving dgd if kellin Flippin quinn became the new singer lol

Kellin Quinn was a nobody when he recorded this and when he would have joined Dance Gavin Dance. So no, I don't think it would have purged the DGD fanbase. In fact, I think him being in Dance Gavin Dance would have been a fucking phenomenal thing, because like it or not he is an insanely talented singer who just happens to sing pretty shitty pop music these days. Sleeping With Sirens first album has some decently heavy shit on it and great vocals throughout all of it. Even their second cd still has some decent songs, after that it's been all shit tier though. But still, we got Kurt Travis who is also amazing. I don't think he's on par with Kellin as a natural talent voice-wise, but certainly far beyond in terms of lyrics and melody. And now we have Tilian, who is better than both of them. (Opinions and shit)

Not bad. Sounds like a high pitched Johnny Craig. Real r&b style. Never really listened to sleeping with sirens but this was really good.

Why are you guys talking about Tillian? The description says this was before the song was titled, meaning after Downtown Battle Mountain and before the self titled (Deathstar). They ended up going with Kurt Travis, this was long before Tillian.

do you ever listen to this and feel like your ears have been blessed? because i do, he has a beautiful soft pitched voice.

I really can't stand sleeping with sirens. But Kellin gets props from me for this. Kinda shows of the jazzy quality of his voice here than seems to be lost in Sleeping With Sirens. The dude's talented.

Kellin's vocal range is high like most hard/metalcore vocalists. Not saying anything bad about it. Jonny or even Kurt had better rangers than him, no doubt. Plus, you're attempting to say Kellin Quinn is good on a DGD video :D

as a fan of both I'm glad sleeping with sirens went on their own voyage and dgd went on another so I have both, but god damn kellin this is so good

I'll be honest, I'm glad they went with kurt but alot of folks are really dawgin on kellin here man. I think hes got the vocal prowess to really make some cool dgd songs. I think people automatically assume hes just gonna dumb their style down to something more basic or something but I doubt that would've been the case if this had panned out. Remember this was just a demo with an acoustic. He can get really raw at times with his voice.

As a long time DGD fan, been through 3 vocalists, I can say that if Kellin made it, they can write songs for his voice as good as the previous and current DGD songs. It's DGD you know.

Thanks to this demo I found out about dgd I used to be a huge sws fan. And I checked out a lot of songs that kellin was in. After I found this one I liked it a lot. Then thanks to my friend I found out about Kurt's uneasy hearts and fell in love with the band. I think the band would've done great with Kellin since he is a high pitch singer just like tilian. But kurt was the right choice and self titled & happiness are my favorite dgd albums. Zach, I'd be so happy if u kurt and will started a project together 😭❤️ If not then I'd be happy if u made a song with royal coda Or more strawberry girls x kurt Travis songs

@amnehzm it wasnt a cover, it was just a demo for our band (dgd) at the time when we were looking for a new singer back in late 07/early 08. i recorded a guitar part we had for a new song and sent it to him to see what he thought and he recorded over it.

This is so great but in a much different way from the other one. Kellins voice fits this acoustic version so well.

He also does the clean vocals, which he is why he is famous, kindof like Denis Shaforostov from Make Me Famous, or Tyler Carter. If you disagree then why do most of the comments in every song have to do with Kellin Quinn's clean vocals? He does scream, but he's not that great at screaming. If he was, he would be more recognized for that. I do know what I'm talking about.

in the description it clearly says guitar part written by Will Swan which is the guitarist for DGD and kellin just put vocals over it

You'll feel really foolish once you realize that Zachyg really was in DGD. Zachary Garren. He did guitar for the self-titled album and Happiness, both amazing albums. And his work in Strawberry Girls is great too. Maybe you should check up on your facts before accusing.

Even though obviously Kurt Travis was the right choice, this sounds pretty good. I'd love to see this actually get a full version maybe. Perhaps as some sort of special recording for a DGD B-Sides & Rarities album. That'd be the best place for it.
