@@Latte-girly90honestly dealing with and hearing the people who think they can tell the Japanese how to make their entertainment really shows how they don’t know anything outside of their biased views of American culture and politics. A lot of them are American centric and are woefully ignorant of anything domestic or foreign to what they know. All the while hypocritically lambasting America imperialism while encroaching upon foreign media and culture with their American views. I have learned about Japanese culture history and a few jsl signs but if you ever ask someone who thinks this way who are the great unifier’s of japan? What is the jsl sign for to promise? Or any other question that concerns the country other than where is japan on a map. They would get potentially all three wrong. Even then it is dubious to assume that they know world geography to get the easiest question right. While I am a foreigner who has bothered to learn about Japanese history mythology and culture. Hell like I mentioned before I know a few Japanese signs with to promise and see you later being the main 2 i can remember. A lot of Americans especially now are completely ignorant about the fact that even though the USA is the 3rd or 4th largest country there are at least 194 other countries on the planet. With different demographics and cultures. It’s a joke at this point with foreigners saying America is not the world calling out the American centric nature a lot of Americans have.

That's sad. A bad staff can really ruin everything. A new gas station just opened up within walking distance of us, and I've never been more appreciative of pay-at-pump because the staff there is awful and rude - especially one Hispanic lady in particular - I only go there for gas. No air, no snacks, no directions, no water, just gas and get the Hell out.

I worked at a tiny mom and pop gas station/diner. It wasn't just convenience store food: we had a proper kitchen where we cooked burgers and stuff like that. They had two cooks: me and an older woman named Janelle. We also sometimes ran register but it was usually either the owner or one of the other two employees who did that. The owner decided to let us cooks go so that she could hire her crackhead son and his friend when they got out of jail, claiming they were really good cooks. I would often have people see me out doing errands and beg me to go back to work there because they wanted a good burger and the owner lied to them, telling them I quit. Within six months they closed down the kitchen/dining area and about a year after that, they were completely shut down. Turns out people were only willing to pay more for their gas if they were able to get a good burger after a hard day at work (most of our customers were blue-collar guys).

There's one black owned business in my town that I love, but that's because he's a wholesome dude who loves his family and loves people. Now I tend not to refer to it as black owned, but rather vet owned. He does a lot for the vet community, first responders, police, etc. His son is an officer, his other son passed away from substance use. He doesn't prop himself up as black owned, he just lets his personality and BBQ speak for itself. That's the baseline I have with small businesses, don't just talk about it be about, show that you have something worth paying for and returning to.

Worst part about this restaurant is that they’re calling themselves the “Real Milk & Honey.” They’re totally ripping the “house rules” thing from the Milk & Honey bar in NYC that was opened in 1999 by Sasha Petraske (one of the founding figures of modern day cocktail culture). The reason the bar had “house rules” was because the bar was technically legal/zoned correctly - the house rules were to ensure the bar stayed opened and included things like “no hooting, hollering, shouting or other loud behavior” and “Do not linger outside the front door.” Like the words and the phrase are common enough that I don’t fault them calling their brunch restaurant Milk and Honey, but don’t be calling yourself the “Real Milk and Honey” when you’re clearly ripping things from a much better known Milk and Honey.

I also never got the people that have issues with cultural appropriation. That's how every and all cultures change over time. Stuff from different cultures mixing, adapting or inspiring. I'm not Italian but I make some damn good pasta. I wouldn't claim for it to be authentic Italian food but why the fuck couldn't I make a restaurant specialising on this sort of thing? Same with sushi, why can't she make decent sushi? If her sushi is as good or better than the competitions food what's the issue? If it's bad she will have to close at some point anyway.

Do you handle your business well- if it's a restaurant is the food good, is service good, is the place clean or does it look like I'm risking my life just to walk into the place. More power to this guy not soft stepping anything and just telling what his real experience is with whatever food business he's trying good, bad or indifferent.

Isn't all those people that think like that lady blatantly engaging in positive discrimination? Isn't that imply they can't do anything without help which also imply they are good for nothing or "less then"? I am from a different corner of the world, having said that when you are cushioned from everything it speaks of your own inability to do anything and it means a point of shame, not something to search for because nobody wants to be the babied one, the burden to others, everyone knows what it means, like you are nothing but dead weight. I don't understand why the desperation to be marginalised, and incur in positive discrimination just to get what exactly? Because to me the backlash out-weights the "brownie points" I think USA people have it all but still get time to complain about everything, you are just bored out of your minds. The baby sandpit is getting even smaller for those who think the world owes them a favour because they exist, and guess what happens when the baby sandpit is not enough? they inevitably get greedy and whines for more, the same thing that comes when you have all you can possibly need but it's not enough, you want more and more never satisfying the black whole of needing something. That's a miserable way to live, you live 95% of the time pissed and whining about all you don't have instead of appreciating what you do have and what you can achieve. In my humble experience, 2 major things always happens when you cushion others, The first thing: Those cushioned from the world and experiences learn nothing and they never achieve anything without help which lead to them not being interested in learning or point blank feel entitled for whatever was given to them always and don't see that as a privilege (again because it was always given) The second thing: Others that had it really rough have negative feelings towards then and the phenomenon of "if I had it rough, you should too like everybody else" also happens, the frequency and level of this two things happening obviously vary, but they always happen. There is a sentiment about "Nobody helped me or didn't do this and that for me when I needed it, why should I do it for you? I had to manage, why can't you do the same?" which also leads to more arguments.
