Using the pool water for cooling which in turn warms the pool water is genius, love this DIY CIP keg cleaning. Cheers!

Thanks Gary. It’s been super helpful and conserves water. Double benefit when you want the pool warmed up and the beer cooled down lol. Sláinte

Well done video, thanks for taking the time to put it together. I'm impressed on your engineering for the keg cleaning. I'm doing all manuel cleaning and while I don't need to spend ages scrubbing I do spend a lot of time breaking everything down completely. I'm not sure it's necessary, but I pull off the rings and poppets to soak separately. I just went back to a cutoff dip tube in my fermentation keg for a stout. I've had a few issues with the Torpedo and Fermentaurus floating dip tubes. The main issue being is that they will start to send air or presumably C02 bubbles while transferring. I have to tip the keg to keg to get a solid stream going again. The bubbles aren't a huge deal, but I ferment around 6.5 gallons to try to transfer a complete 5 and the bubbles in the line will start sending foam out the pressure release if it happens much towards the end before I'm able to get a complete 5 gallons even when going slow with the pressure. Tipping the keg stirs up the yeast too. The other problem I've had on occasions is the ring attaching the the floating ball to the tube has folded back on itself making it not soaking liquid leaving me no choice except the open the top and fix it. It's also a risk if I'm using dry hoppers that can and in 1 occasion did pop the floating ball up. I think I'll save my floating for something like a Pilsner where clarity is a premium. I'm not sure to the validity of it, but a couple brewers have told me that actually transfering a little yeast over is good for aging and preventing off flavors. I'm really curious on your proposed split batch with leaving one on the cake. It sure would be convenient to not have to transfer. Whether or not autolysis would be a problem is a mystery to me. Personally for the way I dry hop Ales leaving it in the keg would not work. I get major hop burn from leaving a bunch of dry hops in for over a day and I don't like to open the top to pull out a bag or what have you to prevent oxidation. I'm thinking something like an Irish Stout that I'm brewing now could totally work though. I love watching informative videos. Thanks again and Cheers!

Great video Dennis! I have switched all my kegs over to the floating dip tubes as well. The only thing left is convincing the wife to let me ket the keg washer. Hands off cleaning will do wonders for my back (and I guess more time for other things).

Excellent and I viewed and liked on both of my YT accounts. What is the humming in the background? Can you kill that during the videos? It seems to drown you voice out a bit. Also feel free to add some tags.

Ever run your experiment to figure out if you needed to transfer to a serving keg vs keep it sitting on top of the yeast cake and serving out of the floating dip?

Thanks for sharing your information on this subject. Question when you use PBW how many times can you use it in one batch of cleaning. I thought you could only use it on one item. Thanks again for sharing. Cheers!

Yea I typically will swap the solution on each keg. Maybe 2 kegs if I’m running low. Sláinte
