Kohinoor makes the best 5.6mm leads inmho. Their 2B for writing and their 4B for sketching, are pefect! YOu can use a common pencil sharpener to sharpen the leads. Just tont make them needle sharp, to avoid breaking it easy. The Secret for proper sharpening, is to stop and check more times than we usually do,as also do quarter turns instead of half or full turns,

I own the Kohinoor 5340 that looks like a longer version of this Kaweco. I use it almost everyday for 2 years now, because I sketch a lot and it immedeately became my alltime favorite sketching pencil. I use with the Kohinoor Russet Sepia (Red Chalk AKA Sanguine as most know it) and Dark Sepia 5.6mm leads. The Kohinoor build quality for the 15 euro it costs, is ungeard of. Inside it's all brass with a high quality thick spring. The outer part is aluminum with a coating (love the Greebn-grey and the Golden one, I own both). This Kaweco is always in my radar, I just ccan't justify the price for a short version of my favorite pencil! If it was the standard size, like the Kohinoors, I might have gotten one. If anybody owns both, please share the differences (other than size, please)
