Kawasaki Versys X 300 - Full Review
Stunning small capacity adventure bike by Kawasaki that is a pure joy to ride, commute with and play off the beaten track. But what makes this different from all the other smaller capacity bikes I have tested recently, is that this is a little parallel twin motor with the benefits that come with that.

This bike is incredibly unique. The parallel twin just screams all the time. Hilariously fun. I have it as apart of my collection. I’ve also owned the crf250l rally and ktm 390 Adventure in the smaller adventure bike market. But this thing is the one I’ve kept. You simply can’t get anything like it. Better seat is my only compliant, which I fixed with a concept seat. After many years of ownership it just feels so solidly put together. It’s a tight confidence inspiring feeling bike if you know what I mean. That light clutch is amazing for my commutes when compared to my other, current and previously owned, bikes. For me, and I know I’m different from others, for a proper adventure I really enjoy a smaller engaging light weight bike that is cheap on initial purchase, fuel, wear and tear, and insurance costs. Long service intervals with unbelievable reliability. I feel a sense of achievement and pride when I get to my destination on my little x300.

"Unbelievable reliability" !!!! You forgot "First ninety days ZERO interest!"
Nice video. I bought one earlier this year. My opinion is its a great bike. Ive added all LEDs, T-rex skid, crash bars, and center stand. I added a Seat Concept seat and a taller windscreen. I also swapped out my shifter to an IMS and added IMS pegs. I keep saying I want to get something larger but there is no point in doing so. It does everything I ask of it. It takes a bit to get used to the high revs and ultra low first gear, but it works very well for crawling up rugged off road trails. I am not a beginner, I've had 2 other bikes. Also I am 6'1" and the bike still fits well. I really like it, favorite bike so far. I forgot to mention I added a Kawasaki Brad O2 delete, this adds a constant 3% more fuel.

It's a great first bike, I've owned over 30 motorcycles and had the 2022 for 2 years. Great choice for a starter bike.@benjaminlenehan8317
Was thinking about selling my wee versys, but this confirms my own decision to keep it .... Great little bike for running around OZ too... A 15 tooth front sprocket gives you a less busy feel if you're not doing too much dirt stuff, although watching your vid I'm tempted to go back to factory for that acceleration off the mark. Nice review, cheers 👍🏼
I’ve been interested in the 300 since 2017. Could go for another “big” bike but I really enjoyed test riding one of these for a couple hours. I think it’s finally time to get one. They’re so cheap that it’s a no brainer.
Great video!! I just bought this bike. Gonna be a great summer in Colorado!

How funny,, Im going to pick up a great used one! Also in SW colorado!
I've had mine for over a year/ South Texas, using it for commuting / fun moto
Versys 650 , also hits neutral or even hunts a gear coming to a stop. The let out clutch trick works .
I like the colour. Well played your boys, I hope that the World Cup victory will provide the energy to power your traffic lights ! And good luck to your cricketers also 🇬🇧

Thank you 🥳🥳👍🏻
I've owned a 2022 for two years, great little bike. Gas mileage is excellent, ride it hard and it averages 65-70 mpg. My only complaints are the front forks are not so great, and maybe 5th and 6th gear could be spaced up a little to drop the highway revs.
I will buy this bike one day!!!
Nice review sir👍
Exelent review Bud❤

Thank you so much 🙏
Looks like a ton of fun for the money.
Thank you!!
You think the ABS is good? I would pull the fuse. Also, definitely doing river crossing on this. Great review though! Thanks for doing it. I like a quiet exhaust and I don't think loud pipes save lives
Any differences with the new 2024? Thanks for the very good review.
Video molto ben fatto...bravo👏👏👏
Had one of these bikes , it was so fun . You were really short shifting that bike . It will rev a heck of a lot more. A 300 NInja is to small for me physically and l owned a 400 ninja for a year and it was to small physically as well that's why l got rid of it. The 400 engine was great but l got tired of the frame size so l got rid of it . I am 5'10" and this 300x fit like a glove. Sold it to move , couldn't take it with me , now l am looking for another one. If you don't like to shift and can't stand high revs this is not the bike for you.
Great video with down to earth perspective. As a Brit, I'm looking in to finding out if I can purchase a motorcycle in SA for visits. Visited your beautiful country in 2019, cancelled trip (Covid) 2020, hopefully visiting in two months. Could you be so kind as to inform me of the new current price of the X 300. Have seen a dealer selling 6 year old model for 65,000 ZAR. As an avid fan of The Bike Show, their test in 2017 had a new price of 75,000 ZAR. Best wishes from the UK. P.S. Some of us cherish fond memories of biking in the 70's.

Awesome and thank you 🙏 Yes SA is still one of the most beautiful countries in the world if you take away the clowns running it. Roads are also perfect for biking. A good dealer to get pricing from is Biker Warehouse, but I’ll follow up for you this weekend….. Cheers
A great safety option for this bike is a Smart Brake Module since compression braking is usually enough to slow this bike down. So the brake light will illuminate (or flash) when it senses compression braking. I have 35K kms on mine - as reliable as a stove. 👍
Im very interested in this bike and the G310GS. What concerns me about this bike is getting a flat in the middle of nowhere with tubed tires. Thats the main reason im considering the BMW instead. Can a more experienced rider give me some advice?

In the middle of nowhere you will likely crack a cast wheel than just bending a spoke wheel fitted with tubes which you won't even notice until a few days later, maybe even months. There is a good reason why true adventure bikes are fitted with tubes. been riding Adventure bikes for 43 years. In the middle of nowhere, you just fix it like a normal mountain bike.
"Spirited" That's key....
This bike is available in India....?
Great review. Highly unfortunate (and common) that you didn't show a shot of you on the bike so we could get a sense of ergonomics, leg comfort, etc. Man, just this little thing is always overlooked in these vids.
Is the top speed really 128kmph? I get my ninja 300 up to 190kmph. I’m 6’1, 160lbs. Should be faster than that I would think?

Specs say top speed is 121kph but I ran a consistent 128kph which was very respectable, got there quickly and easily and could keep it uphill and downhill

I hit 80 to 90 mph without trying with revs to spare. It'll break 100 mph (165 kmh) pretty easy. It has more than enough hp to get you for felony speeding in the US. It'll get smoked off the line by a dedicated 600+ CC bike, as it's pretty much an off road bike for the first 4 gears.
where was the video made?

Me too. That is a normal intersection, except of course everybody is on the wrong side of the road.
Maybe God wants me to get this bike
The only option I would request would be cruise-control!
