Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It wasn't long ago that adventure bikes were only found at the premium end of the market. Things have changed today, and we now have three sub-5 Rs lakh compact ADVs in the BMW G 310 GS, Kawasaki Versys-X 300 and the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Versys 300 owner here I swapped the front sprocket from a 14t to a 15 tooth, the gears are longer, the bike makes less perceivable torque, still, even in the steepest hills, i rarely use 1st gear, keep in mind, if you use smooth tyres, they won't grab the dirt very well, giving you less sensation of torque, still, if you twist the throttle hard, the rear wheel will spin because the bike does make enough power in low revs, using 1st gear even with the longer gears is something to be careful of, the bike sends a little too much power to the rear tyre, it can be fun unless you're in a very uncomfortable situation, like loose fine dust on a corner on an uphill, that's where you don't want your rear wheel to spin, i use 2nd gear at most if i want to control the torque on my bike, maybe i use 1st gear in less than 1% of the roads I've ever ridden. I'm not saying it's as strong as a CRF, but the commentary is misleading because it makes you believe it's a weak bike that needs to use 1st gear a lot.

I went through this process on my own and ended up with a '19 Himalayan Non-ABS. The Versys is as you described. The 310 felt like a BMW poser. Like buying a Mustang with a 4 cylinder engine. The Royal Enfield just felt right from the first 10 feet. I rode it first, and then rode it last and that made up my mind. Closing in on 1000 miles in 1 month and enjoying it more and more. If you desire to ride US interstates or many single track trails it is not the bike for that. If you stay within its limitations you will have a lot of fun with this bike.

I appreciate that you lot aren't just tarting up the Himalayan; As simplistic as this sounds, the bike is what it is. Not many frills, fairly simple, not hugely refined but for the price it is easily the most capable bike in this segment. At the end of the day, it's about getting you there and back in relative comfort, and as a new Himalayan owner myself I can say that the 1100km I've ridden since my purchase 12 days ago have all been comfortable and satisfying. Even the 2019 US spec model has it's quirks (nothing that isn't easily mended), but the bike is ultimately worth every bit of money I paid for it, and quite a bit more. The saddle is very accomodating, and at 186cm tall I flat foot the bike with my knees slightly bent. Calling the bike stable is a huge understatement. Due to the weight all being so low, it's also easy to right if you accidentally tip the bike on it's side on a trail, and with the extra torque vs. it's competition being delivered at low revs, the bike is ideal for carrying gear. I couldn't be happier with the purchase and am looking forward to getting it fully broken in so I can start throwing power modifications at it ;)

After owning a cl 350 for a long period of time i have recently exchanged it for RE HIMALAYAN ABS, and for the past 3 weeks i have been testing its potential, and to my suprise ,its doing great. And i dont kno why complaining about speed in tours, we dont need that. The best part is its simplicity and the second part is its super easy to wash. If you have done offroading you will understand what i m saying. All around performance, i d say go for himalayan.

A 650 is going to weight more requiring stronger frame, upgraded suspension, bigger/better brakes, etc. If they can keep the weight down low and manage the extra heat well it should be a big seller in the US. I am glad I got a '19 non-ABS version. It is the 3rd bike in my stable and low cost to buy and own. I don't try to pretend it is something it isn't and when used within its limitations it is a fantastic motorcycle.

The Himalayan center stand sure needs a stronger spring or retention strap to ride off pavement...at least this videos shows that.

My brother bought a Himalayan back in 2018, and one thing we've both noticed is that thing will take a beating like no other bike. My DR650 was my gold standard for a motorcycle that won't die, but it's quickly becoming unseated by the Himalayan.

For true adventure riding you should always carry a patch kit and spare tube. If you have never done it practice changing the tube first.

  • @akshayrajaram123

Himalayan sure had a bad start.. The BS 3 version had a lot of issues.. Everyone agrees.. But the BS 4 version is a real gem of a bike.. Simple looks, purposefully built.. And best bike in India to tackle any kind of trails.. And not to mention the affordability factor. Plus with a 4 years of extended warranty, every part that could go kaput is taken care by RE including the labour charges.. So don't you think its a well put out bike and a real offroader from RE.
