After riding a ZX10R for over 10 years, I needed something more comfortable. I almost bought a Ninja 1000, but there were a few things it was missing. Glad I waited because the 2020, now named Ninja 1000SX, has everything I want. Cruise control and a display showing everything you could want.

I have a ‘12 ZX-10R that I bought new in ‘14 as a leftover inventory bike. I’ve loved it and it hasn’t given me any issues. However, I’m about to turn 40 and while I still live riding it, it’s not as comfortable as it used to be…plus there’s just so much unused potential with the bike. You can never really fully get out of it what the bike is capable of. I rode the Ninja 1000 many years ago, and loved it, but preferred the ZX-10R. Now I’m looking into trading in the ZX-10R for a new 1000SX. Glad to hear you’re really enjoying it. How has it been treating you? Do you regret getting rid of your other bike? Has it been good and reliable?

@@dknollRX7 I still haven't gotten a Ninja 1000SX yet. Back in 2018 I bought a 2011 GSX1250FA to take trips on while I was hoping to find a bike that has everything I wanted. It was a quarter of the price of a new Ninja 1000, so I kept my ZX10R to ride in the city to work and such. Now ... I am not ready to sell both bikes yet for something like a Ninja 1000SX. First off all, every time I ride my ZX10R, I have a huge smile on my face. Still! Plus, like yours, mine never gives me issues. I have also gotten quite fond of the GSX1250FA. Though not as good performance as the Ninja 1000SX, it has good torque. Being de-tuned like this, the engine is said to last easily over 100k without issues. It also runs on regular gas, not premium like these performance bikes, so it is cheaper on trips. Plus, not all gas stations out in the mountains where I go on trips have premium. Finally, and this is kind of a big one, it has a large top case in addition to the hard panniers. The Ninja 1000SX can only have one or the other. I could use a seat bag behind me (tank bags are in the way for me), but I love that hard, lockable top case. I'm pretty happy having both bikes over just one. I got a fun sport bike for short rides and a sport tourer with good luggage for trips. Both bikes are worth so little that something bad happening to either will hurt less than to a brand new bike (I'll still be heart-broken though). My recommendation is to do the same, but that is assuming you have the space, still enjoy the ZX10R, can do without the new features or find a cheap used bike with them ... Sorry for the long reply. Do with this info as you will.

I've had a zx10r and several other zx6rs and I don't miss any of them now. The quick shift up and down is amazing as well as the cruse controls and traction control setup you can choose from. Interesting to find this video. I owned a 2017 N1K red in color just like that one and it was the first sport bike style bike I ever owned. I loved learning about how to ride these bikes and enjoyed that bike very much. However when I retired a year later I traded it in on the new at the time Honda Africa Twin which was also red and was too close to keep both I thought. Later after seeing pictures on my screen saver of that bike and remembering the growl of the engine I started to miss it. So when I ran across an unsold Kawasaki ZH2 at my local dealer I realized it was an opertunity to correct my mistake and even go beyond the capabilities of that bike. And OMG what a great decision. I added a nice windscreen and a top case and I now love the ZH2 more than anything! It is like riding a rocket ship. And while I wouldn’t call it a sport tourer it has all the qualities I’m looking for for shorter but exhilarating rides!!!!

Truly one of the most under-rated, under-appreciated bikes ever. I loved my '11, modded it for comfort and practicality. Of all the bikes I've owned over the last 40+ years (closing in on 60), my former N1K ranks right near the top. I was sad to sell her and worse, the first gen N1K, from '11-16, had poor resale value. I took a beating when selling but the next owner got a great bike for a steal. I hope he rides/loves her a long time.

I ended up buying a Suzuki GSX1250FA. Yes, it's the bargain sport tourer, but it has been an excellent steed which I have put 70,000 trouble free miles on and still have to this day. This bike has literally never broken down. Having said all that, had I seen this seen this bike - I probably would have chosen this one. Love the tour pack and the paint. Great find! I love bikes especially ones like this, I think they're cool AF, but for whatever reason I just can't seem to get past the fear of moving as quickly as this thing could potentially propel you forward. It's both exciting and terrifying to me, the latter being the stronger emotion. The thought of being in control of a bike, any bike makes me nervous. Having a slight tremor in both hand's doesn't help my confidence either but that's life some times you just have to work with what you have . I will always be a fan of them and the dude's and dudets that ride. Great Chanel and a very nice guy presenting it.

But what I did to start was bought a Kawasaki 900 vulcan custom cruiser. Simple and easy to ride. Not crazy fast. Had a great 800 +km round trip in the mountains last summer. Maybe if you start by taking a motorcycle safety course and go from there. By being in a safe a controlled environment, you may find your tremors and fears are manageable. It's a great feeling to ride. Good luck. Cheers

Funny thing, Kawasaki orig racing bike color was red! "MOLLY"(CALI PAINTER) MIXED UP THE Kaw racing green. Mopars and Ford "grabber green"+(maverics) were copy cat'n it! MOLLY had the body painted models, w the MOLLY inspired asemetricle design helmet scheme, in adds in 70s bike rags!... remember? At 62, I still do!😁

He rides his MT09 and I borrow that bike too from once in a while. I am 56 yo and praying for my own to be able to ride with my son and his friends. 👋 I really like and admire you posting Scripture Verses in your video buddy. Blessings God bless

Have you ever rode a Yamaha FJR1300? Super nice bike. It’s comfortable, very nimble when you’re already at speed, super smooth, and it’s faster than hell. The powerband starts at 2500 rpm’s and it goes all the way til it red lines at 8500 rpm’s. Only 140 hp but it’s got 100lbs of tq and feels great, weighing at 582 lbs. I’d recommend this bike.

Test rode on in 2011. Thought it would replace my Ninja 650 which was set up for sport touring. There were annoying vibes at a few RPM levels. I chose the Versys 650 instead and enjoyed it for 30,000 miles of sporty touring. I also test rode the Concours 1400 that year and knew one would be in my future.
