Canadian comedy has a very distinct flavour to American comedy and takes a lot from our close ties to British culture. I live in a small Prairie town in central Canada and almost all of my friends discovered the joys of shows like Big Fat Quiz and Cats Countdown independently (thanks Google algorithm, lol)

Some artists need people to play off of to really shine. I think stand-up brings in more money though. (That's a guess - I just know touring is a big source of revenue for a lot of celebrities.)

Yeah she's best when she's bouncing off people, because she kind of has this way of trolling the other panelists that works - it's both self depricating and show-offy , and with out other comics to riff with it's not as endearing for some reason.

I always thought stand up is more like a skill sharpener - continuously doing stand up is what keeps them funny and good on their toes, but I have to imagine that in the aggregate the panel show appearances bring in more money. At least relative to the work load. They can just show up and tape, minimal preparation, amd they can pump them out all the time, but still a huge audience and I'm sure very lucrative pay. Whereas a stand up special takes hundreds or thousands of hours of preparation.

No because Amy Schumer is trying to be a raunchy version of Seinfeld. She wants a sitcom, and money, and fame but doesn't have the talent to write funny jokes. And the writers on her shows are to blame as well. She said they wrote the jokes that people say are stolen.
