I loved her songs, her video's, her shows because it was something so refreshing, so new, so really different and then, when I heard her voice on TV when she was interviewed I couldn't help but think: "There's not a dang thing wrong with her, she's honest, doesn't hide anything, doesn't have some hidden agenda, etc. how refreshing!"

Then the record companies decided that a small subset of bands that were considered "alternative" were suddenly a new genre called "alternative".
