Nope. It is because she takes breaks to live her normal life. But yes, she also takes regular time to finish albums. They are masterpieces, yes. But I have heard masterpieces albums from other artists and they did not take them so long. It is just the time of the artist. At least, she respects her own time to do a good work.

I was a fan from day one. As a teenager in the 80's I was buyung her vinyls in Woolworths whilst everyone else was buying Madonna and Kylie Minogue. I remember getting funny quizzical looks and comments like "Kate Bush? She's a wierdo". When my kids were teenagers it was "Kate who?" Now, because of Stranger Things" she has become a goddess. The funny thing is some kids thought she was a new rising star and were flabbergasted to find out that she is now nearly 64 years of age. She has always been a goddess in my eyes.

I thought the same, but was lucky enough through a friend in her Fan Club to get tickets in the 2nd row, at one of her Hammersmith Apollo Gigs, a few years back. One of the most amazing nights ever. She was sensational, there was just a tinge of worry as to whether she would be as good as she was back in the day, but she exceeded all expectations. There was a buzz, like I've never heard, of anticipation before the show and standing ovations for every number!

Growing in the 70's and 80's and cringing every time one of her squawky songs came on (Hearing loss blurring the words didn't help.) I never learnt to appreciate the incredible story telling, vocal talent, and the quiet, intelligent woman she is. It's amazing to hear the clarity of her spoken voice, and how quietly confident she is in these later interviews. Now, the songs I used to hate, get the volume turned up when they come on the radio.

I was a teenager in the 70s & absolutely loved Kate Bush & all her material and now in my 60s still play & appreciate her unique talent. However I remember those in the 70s who didn’t ‘get her’ & ridiculed either/or Kate Bush or her fans - I hope more have recognised what they may have missed back then. I think Victoria Wood in this interview is quite spiteful & ridiculing of her, taking advantage of Kate’s youth, notwithstanding VW’s so called dry wit. I think Kate Bush may have agreed too, watching some of her reactions here.

Wuthering Heights never hit in the US, but at the time I was an avid reader of Billboard Magazine's "Hits of the World" column. Usually if something hit big in Europe it would hit in the States about six months later. I bought "The Kick Inside" with this in mind. Of course the first song I played was Wuthering Heights. I put the needle on, turned to do something else and heard the first line of lyrics and thought, "Oh, I've got it on 45 (rpm)!" and turned around to switch to 33 only to find out that's where it was. I thought I'd made a mistake on this one, but after listening to it I had to hear it again...and again...and again! Nearly 45 years later I'm still a huge fan! Oh, and at one time or another during those days, every song on "The Kick Inside" became my favorite song, at least for a few days!

It took me many years to appreciate the work of Kate Bush although I did love Wuthering Heights at the time. Her music was so much deeper than just the commercial pop (which I also loved) nowadays I can see just how much ahead of her time she really was.

Slight shame that Mike Aspel is a bit of a turnip. But rather neat the way she tells him to take a hike on the male fantasy question. However, I wonder if that rather creepy question helped put her off TV appearances.

My favorite is from Jennie Abrahamson & Gothenburg Symphony which pretty much nails it, closest to Kate herself as you can get without it being Kate. Why is everyone so down on Michael Aspel. Aspel was a bloody good tv host. I was disappointed when his Saturday night show was cancelled. At least with Aspel you get an INTELLIGENT interview unlike other other TV hosts you could mention. Aspel asked good concise questions and wasn't a notice box like Norton or Ross or any of those other idiots. Aspel was one of the best TV hosts going. Wish he was still on in TV.

I read recently that something like 85% of all artists signed to record labels were privately educated, but I really miss this type of artist. She reminds me a bit of Sade. They're from ordinary places in suburbia, but they have imagination and talent, and that's all they're interested in - no bullshit. They're there because they are good at what they do, not because they have the connections or speak the right way. The music industry has really suffered because of the way it is structured now.
