Kate Bush's first concerts in 35 years

Singer Kate Bush wows critics with her performance and she's making record sales chart history.
Kate Bush 'really moved' by 'Running Up That Hill' hitting No. 1
By Marianne Garvey
Kate Bush is "overwhelmed" by the renewed affection for her decades-old song, "Running Up That Hill."
The singer posted a statement to her website about how the 1985 track is being played everywhere after being featured on the latest season of "Stranger Things."
"The Duffer Brothers have created four extraordinary [seasons] of 'Stranger Things' in which the child actors have grown into young adults," Bush wrote about Matt and Ross Duffer, who created the Netflix series.
She continued: "In this latest series, the characters are facing many of the same challenges that exist in reality right now. I believe the Duffer Brothers have touched people's hearts in a special way, at a time that's incredibly difficult for everyone, especially younger people."
Sadie Sink's character, Max, listens to the track until her friends play it on repeat to help her find her way back.

In 1979 I went to Bristol with some friends to see Thin Lizzy at the Colston Hall. We decided to go for a beer at the Drawbridge pub before the show and as we walked past the front of the Hippodrome, a board outside said there were still tickets available to see Kate that evening. To howls of derisive laughter, I told my friends that I would go and watch Kate instead and bought a ticket there and then. Up there with one of the best decisions I ever made in my life and I count myself very lucky to have seen her amazing show all those years ago.

Thin Lizzy is one of the few of the prepunk rock bands I would've ever bothered to see, but seeing Kate...well, that's just a flat out brilliant decision. However, that was the great era in which people sometimes had to make decisions over which concert to go to as lots of awesome ones were on the same evening. Cheers to you, sir!

I never stopped loving Kate Bush and her music. she is a talented genius who has managed to stay private and not parade around in the media circus. Her music speaks for itself, unique and inspiring. She has nver compromised. I am so happy that her talent is reaching a new generation of fans. Id love to see her recognised beyond her CBE. Maybe a Dame in the New Years honours list wouldnt go amiss

Please, go on a European Tour! If ever we needed something to heal us, now is the time. I've listened to Kate Bush since late January or early February 1978, back in the Six Pistols, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Police, Slade, Sweet and ABBA days- Later came the dreadful Stock, Aitken and Waterman times, where everyone sounded more or less the same, except for Kylie perhaps. Kate Bush is STILL "the best", and it warms my heart that the younger generations can feel it.

I was very privileged to attend one of the Before The Dawn concerts she gave at The Apollo Theatre. I was fortunate to get a ticket becuase I belonged to the Kate Bush fan club and was offered preferential pre-sale tickets. All the same, I was still poised by the phone minutes before the sale opened just to ensure that the ticket sale call handler answered on the dot of opening time. Even then I still didn't get an ordinary ticket. All I could get was a Hospitality Included Ticket at £400. I didn't mind that, I think I would have been prepared to pay £4000 to see her, given that it was a one-off. It was lovely to enjoy a great Gourmet meal in the church hall before the show. I stil have the menu and photos of my food. I still use my Kate Bush concert fish key ring even now and drink from the Before The Dawn mug I got at the concert. The show was amazing. Unforgettable and a glorious memory. I feel for those who didn't manage to get a ticket and really do wish that the show had been published for sale on DVD for those unlucky enough not to see it live. Kate Bush is a genius of equal rank to other artists like David Bowie.

I do have a best of album and think she's a great artist but didn't play it to him. His favourite album of hers is "The Dreaming" which I think is an odd choice but there you are! So I suppose I would say he got into her music entirely on his own accord without any influencing at all.

I have also worked in TV but never met Kate. I would love to. My mum died about 20 years later. I used to read poetry and books and at the same time listen to Kate's music. I still do. Dan M.
