Einfach super! Vielen Dank für diesen Upload.

My 15yo daughter just told me that Kate Bush is very popular today thanks to the Netflix series Stranger Things. She can't stop listening to her. And never forget: It all started in 1978, in the former train station of the "Köln-Frechen-Benzelrather Eisenbahn" and I remember it very well because my parents were always watching this show. Very sad that Alfred Biolek can't see this any more. He passed away in 2021.

Having heard both "Kite" and "Wuthering Heights" on her album, the vocals are definitely live. There is just enough of a pacing difference and sub-octave change to convince me. Kudoes to the band to add backing vocals to "Kite". I believe her WH backing music was on tape, because it sounded spot-on with the album.

I remember so much her first ever TV appearance. I was 14 at the time and her music influenced my whole musical experience for many years until today. TV was so much more sophisticated back then and Alfred "Bio" Biolek had the courage and the intuition to introduce us to so many artists, often still controversial, who went on to have mega careers. It is well worth looking here for other artists such as DAF, Nina Hagen, Klaus Nomi etc. who were also introduced to the German public by him. He was a great Entertainer.

@@skyboswell Here you go! I'm sorry that I didn't answer earlier! I hope everything makes sense! :) If there are any questions feel free to ask! 💖Put some stuff in brackets to explain something the moderator said, so that it makes sense to you! Intro: My loved ones, the contrasts of classic and pop. I don’t know if you love pop. The older ones of you might say that it’s a bit loud. That’s what Wilhelm Busch (German humorist, poet, illustrator and painter, died in 1908) already thought ‚music often will be experienced as disturbing because it’s related to sound‘ (that’s a saying of Wilhelm Busch, it’s pretty hard to translate). So he also wasn’t a pop fan. But if he would’ve known his great, great, great, great, great granddaughter he wouldn’t have said that. Our artist that I will now introduce is named Kate Bush. I have no idea if she is actually related to him. Very unlikely. There is a c missing, her name is written B U S H. That one c she might have switched for a high c that she sings, but that doesn’t matter. I don’t know that. What I know is that she’s the first time in Germany, she flew for the first time, she saw a Shrove Monday Procession for the first time, in these days she’s recording her first album and this is her first TV appearance and if grandpa Busch would have heard this he would have said ‚music won’t be experienced as disturbing, as long it’s related to Kate Bush.‘. Here she is: Kate Bush! After her performance: Kate you are great. That actually rhymes! (to a woman in the audience) My dear lady you helped me so much just now. Would you help me again? I don’t have flowers. Maybe you can give me…. yes this is fabulous. You’re not just a fabulous music stand but also an excellent rose woman. My ladies and gentlemen, is that a talent and in 10 years, maybe in 5, maybe already in 2 she will perform in New York in the Carnegie Hall, maybe at the Madison Square Garden. 15000 people will go wild. She will say „psssttt“ everyone gets quiet and she will say „Don’t forget my beginning I made in the Depot Köln-Frechen-Benzelrather Eisenbahn (place of the event she just performed at) in Cologne. The poor one didn’t understand a word. (He starts to sum up what he just said). (After she was asked if she knows any word in German she answers „Nein“ which means „No“ and then he says to her to say „Yes“ in German.)
