I remember when usman was champ and he was being asked about Khamzat and he kept saying the time will come and he needs to get a couple wins first, everyone kept saying he was scared of khamzat and was ducking him. Clearly if that was the case, he wouldn’t have taken this fight on 10 days notice. Big respect for Usman.

Sure but he was already training for Khamzat when they lined them up to fight, and was also training for Belal since he was next for him. He is not really out of training.

It’s crazy to think that if he didn’t get headshot dead in the last minute of a 5 round dominant performance, he could have already defended again against Belal and still be #1 P4P. Instead, if he loses this fight, he’ll be on a 3 fight losing streak and be on the way to retirement. AT THE SAME TIME, if he wins this fight he can be fighting Strickland, a guy he already beat, and become a 2 division champion. I love this sport.

Same here man I really want him to go out in a good way. I hate seeing great fighters drop off a cliff even if I wasn't the biggest fan. Also Khamzat needs to be humbled, I woulda thought after squeaking by a LW who moved up he woulda learned. I hope Kamaru teaches him tomorrow.

Honestly, on of the better pre-fight DC interviews. Good building into subjects and follow up. Lots of funny. More importantly, great listening and providing space to speak while remaining interested.
