The problem when it has too much insulation the "gentle fire" tend to smolder and produce a dirty smoke flavor. Has been tested and documented a bunch of times.. ceramics hold the heat by thermal mass which tends to be less efficient tha say a broil king keg with oven insulation in the walls but burns a much cleaner fire

While I slightly prefer the style of the Kalamazoo, if I was looking for a really high end kamado I’d buy a 32” Komado Kamado. And with the price difference, I could hire the crane I’d need to move its 1000 lb weight where I would want it.

I have to agree. The 32” Komodo has a lot more grill area and rolls on very nice wheels as well. AND has a rotisserie.

Nice fan girling, Trevor but I would never buy based on the wood trim exterior. That's going to be looking sad after a couple of seasons. Especially if you grill and smoke all year long in the rain and snow like I do.

I don’t know what it costs but if it’s more than a Komodo Kamado it sure shouldn’t be. Where’s the rotisserie? Where’s the ability to do pizza? If your food is limited to just the top rack, it’s a very limited space. No sear marks with those grates and they need to come out easier for cleaning. I’m sure there’s a way to load lump on both sides for even heat, but that wasn’t demonstrated. Where would you put a water pan? Are there grommets for temp probes? But it sure looks good from the outside. It seems like the cybertruck of grills. Looks cool, trying to be innovative, eye catching, but is it really a better grill in the end?

@@embersliving I’m really surprised this grill is so positively reviewed. No question the build quality is there. But if you want to move this grill, even 3 inches, you’ll need 2 strong people. Why? Because this grill has NO wheels!!! People move their grills all the time, while not using, to clean around them, adjust for strong winds or whatever. Why no wheels or level adjustments? Also if I have to run the wires of my temperature probes under the gasket, how is that a premium setup? This grill will do pizza but pictures I’ve seen have the pizza stone directly on the grates. This is definitely the cybertruck of grills. You pay a big premium for the stainless steel and skilled US labor, which is very hard to keep clean, it looks cool, but like the cybertruck, it doesn’t do anything better than the competition. Even the claimed thermal properties are jeopardized if probe wires are required to run under the gasket.

It’s $11k so pushing twice the 32” KK and more even than the 42” unless you really trick it out.

Great review but too many parts for a grill or smoker. Looks like it wants to be a transformer. Kamado transform! The build quality of the shell looks awesome but it looks like they added too many gimmicky features.
