Thank you so much for showing how to pry the dash panel out. I had no idea on how to get it out. Mine had too much corrosion so cleaning it didn’t help so I had to toss it and buy a new one. I went to the dealer where a I bought the tractor 10 years ago (BX 1870) and they wanted $645.00 for the part. (Kitsap Tractor & Equipment in Silverdale WA) He tried to make it sound like they weren’t making them any more and he found one of the last ones in a warehouse in Kansas. After more research a local mechanic directed me to Scholten’s Equipment in Lynden WA and their price was about $480 with shipping and it arrived in 4 days. Thanks again for taking the time to make this video. It was an easy project thanks to you.

Cool I’m glad I could help. Yeah, I kind of figured them things would be a little bit of money. They should really fix that problem because I’ve seen a lot of people had the same problem with moisture getting in there. Oh well have a good day my friend.

Thanks for this. I have a BX23S. For anyone else viewing this and thinking it might be the same, it it is not. For it, there are screws that hold the instrument panel in place. Take off the front cover as much as you can to get to them.

Thanks so much for this video. I got my cluster off and water definitely got in there and rusted a bunch. Trying to clean it now, but I don't have a lot of hope at the moment. Either way, this is exactly what I was looking for. Good news is that the tractor will run without it.

I just had the same problem, I did not see what you used to seal the glass back up but I used permatex gasket sealant and it seem to work pretty well. I was just telling my boy… let someone else destroy their stuff and find the best end results on KZread… not that you busted anything but in the case of no fatherly advise watch the trial and errors of others first. Thanks my friend your video really helped.

I’ve has exactly the same problem. Brought tractor to dealer to do other work and I put a tarp on it while it sat outside in the dealer field waiting to be worked on. Dealer brought it in, did the work and THEN parked it back outside without putting the tarp on it and it rained like crazy. Instrument cluster glass had droplets on the inside and 3 days later, the entire instrument cluster stopped working.

Thanks for the video....My glass broke on my bx25d and moisture got in even though it is always garaged. Kubota does not sell a replacement glass....you need to but the instrument cluster and tub to get the glass ($300) Bought a piece of plexiglass for $14, traced out the tub, cut inside the lines and siliconed it up. I did clean the connections as you suggested and all is fine Thanks

I took it apart as you described, brought it inside and dried it off for a few hours and plugged back in to test it. The right side worked, but the left side (tac) did not. I am going to dry it and try it in the morning. Thanks for making the video!!! In the long run it will save me some $$!! @@EdiblePlants

I've got a secondhand 2670 that had a little visible moisture in the instrument panel. The lights worked, but no tachometer. I'll try this in the morning, see if letting the binnacle dry out helps. Thanks for the tip on removing it!

It's a shame that a tractor can't weather a lite rain. I would have thought Kubota was made of sterner stuff. Thanks for your video. What are those little yellow patches there for, to let moisture in???? I suspect at $300.00 to replace that instrument panel, Kubota knows all about this problem!!!! I did what you suggested and mine was really wet inside. I dried it off, and let it sit inside for a couple of days, and now it works. I wonder how do I keep it from happening again??

Left mine broke about 2 years. Went out and took it out after seeing this video and it was corroded beyond repair. I believe there’s a replacement part with a upgraded version since it has a new part number. Might have to bite the bullet and get it. Unfortunately I don’t think the new panel will show the correct hours for the tractor. If anyone has replaced one of this, please confirm if this is correct about the hours.

Alas - I have a similar tale. The tacho didn’t work when I got mine 2nd hand. The lights went out earlier this year, and I got a bit determined about getting the display out. Corroded movement for the tacho was the least of it. Off to Watson Tractors on Monday I guess.
