Beautiful! Last summer I took a picture of it with my 6'' Smith-Cassigrain telescope and my daily dslr behind it. It's just a blueish dot surrounded by stars and I only know it's there because my go-to-mount guided me there. It's nothing - and I still love it because I did it myself out of my backyard, always gives me better feel for these images taken by the large guns. Thanks for another great video!

Able? Sure. Just a matter of priorities. Personally while i find uranus fascinating, with limited resources i would like to see other stuff more. Europa, Enceladus, Titan... an atmospheric probe to venus, a probe able to dig deep on mars... Triton and therefore neptune would be higher on my priorities too.

A review of It Came From Uranus in 3D... The movie was trying to cash in on the 1950s' 3D popularity like as in It Came From Outer Space, which by the way, had a really nifty landslide scene where it seems like boulders are literally coming out of the screen and right into the audience. It Came From Uranus had a scene where it looked like a monster from Uranus was coming right out of the screen into the audience. The audience, of course, would scream like crazy. One of the scariest scenes ever in sci-fi.

I remember seeing that movie late night TV when I was in high school. There was a monster like a big brain in a cave on Uranus (didn’t matter that it’s a gas giant). Monster was ... terrorizing Earth somehow. Monster kills spaceman Jim. Captain Hero Guy kills monster. The planet starts breaking apart for no logical reason. Heroes rush back to the ship. Pilot: Where’s Jim? Capt Hero: He’s dead, let’s go. A minute later cue the credits and theme music: JourNEEEEY to the Seventh Pla-nehhht!

Chris, I just thought about something… surely the light from the sun could hit the moon’s surface and reflect onto the planet- and vice versa? Meaning a special instrument from a telescope could detect a change in the brightness? I hope you know what I mean. And if it’s possible for Uranus and it’s moons- it’s possible on another planet far away?
