So you need to do works in order to be right before God? Read James 2:23, also read Romans chapters 3-5, Gal chapters 2-4.

@@holzmann- We are justified or declared righteous before God by faith alone, works come as fruit as a result of salvation (Eph 2:10), NOT for it.

@@reformedcatholic457; Paul was speaking of the religious works of Moses, not the works of the Spirit. He said FAITH IS A WORK in the book of Galatians, "a faith that WORKETH by love"...He used the term "works of the law" 5 times in the epistle to the Galatians, in rearguards to the washings, sabbath days, circumcision, tithes, feast days, diatary laws, etc .Also; these are the ordinances which were all nailed to the cross in the book of Col. >these were once glorious but waxed away in favor of a new and better way, known as the Law of the Spirit...Paul said 3 times in the text that we are WORKERS together with God. Meaning both parties working together to obtain a covenant relationship of love, which is no wise can be obtained by any other means. aka "synergy", man working together with God. This covenant formula can be seen in Philipians 2-12,13; in that both man and God doing their own part to fulfill a covenant relationship...we workout our own salvation with fear and trembling, and God works in us ("energio" in the Greek). Meaning, HE, via the Holy Spirit, energies our faith, and gives us power to overcome the world, Satan, and the lusts of the flesh, while living godly in the present age, as it says in Titus 2-11,12, ..... be blessed in the truth, Willie & Bonnie

Protestant beliefs are contradictory and self refuting which means it cannot be of God. Belief 1) Good works is only a fruit or sign of salvation Belief 2) Man will always produce bad fruit (sin) Conclusion: No Protestant is saved because they will always produce bad fruit

@@heb597 Exactly. We all fall short of the glory of God. We're all sinners, we all deserve damnation. Our sin must be punished. But thanks be to Jesus Christ for living the perfect life, dying , was buried and rose again from the dead. We must repent, turn from our sins and put our full trust and obedience towards our Lord.
