It's so sad that he lost because most of the people who voted for Lane were girls that just thought he was cute and dont give a shit about real music and artistry. Alejandro is the true musician and will be 1000 times bigger than lane hands down. I doubt Lane even wrote 5% of his "original" he played after he won. I added up the numbers between talent recap and American idol and these were the results as of the 25th. Min Love: 600k Home: 597k Tonight: 553k jambalaya: 369k Homie homecoming: 700k Laine homecoming: 332k 10 years: 623k Laine duet: 409k Out loud: 1.23 million Bring it home: 659k. So clearly it was a landslide and so said by the time California watched the show the results were already in, how is that fair. Anyway whatever I think we all deep down did not want him tied down to Idol and I think Idol assumes it would have been a headache trying to control this genius.

I'm a firm believer in "Everything happens for a reason" and I feel that Alejandro did win! He's not an Idol. He's a gifted musician, composer, artist and channeler of Light.
