It only becomes an offence when a senior police officer at the scene issues a section 12. If anyone refuses to get off the road after that they may then be arrested.

When I had my baby, my labour was very very short and unusual. I had literally an hour between my water breaking and baby popping out. On the way the road was blocked for some roadworks and the hospital which was 45 min away. My husband had to get out out of the car and plead them to move their vans and clear the road. It was at 2:30am at night. I had no contractions or anything so I couldn’t leave any earlier and was absolutely fine the whole day. As soon as I somehow managed to drag myself to the hospital lifts and ward I fell and the midwife said she can see the baby’s head. I had no time. If I was in this traffic I don’t know what would have happened. There could be people like me or with other emergencies here

Wow, look at all the speed bumps the drivers have to deal with.

If there is a law prohibiting blocking traffic, the head of police must come forward and explain why the force isn't performing its duty. If he doesn't say anything, the mayor and that woman in Home Secretary office must be held accountable for this mess.

I was against changing the protest laws, but after multiple just stop oil protests from people who can afford not to work messing up ordinary peoples lives who need to work. I now support a change in the law that will allow the police to arrest these smug, selfish fools.

If that's our standard for law enforcement... then no wonder this country's screwed.

Making absolutely no favours for themselves. Completely counter productive.

More people need to take the law into their own hands i would and it wouldn't be pretty

@@scribblezgfx no need to wait. They went onto the pavement to avoid having to wait for the police to attend to remove the obstruction. They were impatient and chose to commit an offence. Nobody made them do it. That answer your question?

@@scribblezgfx Yes, because the drivers were impatient and chose to break the law rather than wait. They chose to break the law, nobody made them do it. I am not remotely in support of anything JSO (and all these other left wing protest groups) do, and I might well have gone onto that extremely wide and completely empty bit of pavement myself. Wouldn’t have made it right though, and I would have been risking the prospect of prosecution, just like the drivers in this clip.

I see the mobile speedhumps are back again.

Had a few of these idiots protesting in my country police dealt with them in under 10 minutes

if you want to stop oil, just protest in front of the companies producing them

Looking at that elderly woman with the protestors makes this all the more pathetic.

Yes I noticed that too. The assumption of power and authority over the situation is without foundation; other than an underlying narcissism and an overwhelming sense of entitlement.

They complain about new oil and gas licences that could raise temperatures by 2 degrees. Temperatures were 2 degrees higher than now during Roman times 2000 years ago. Pollution has been acting as a sunblock keeping sea temperatures lower

They are mental midgets. The Earth goes through Ice Ages and Global warming periods same as it goes through summer and winter. It's impossible to attribute any of this to human activity.
