Nothing beats good ol’ CHEST DAY! In the past we have experimented a lot with burn sets on many of the routines, but today we’re going to do things a bit differently. Instead of performing a burn set on the first set of each exercise, we are going to switch to performing 1 drop set on each working set. The goal here is to really blast your chest with volume while it is fatigued to maximize muscle fiber stimulation for GROWTH! I will be using my Iron Bull Strength Grips for a bit more muscle activation throughout my chest, arms and shoulders during my drop sets. Once finished you are going to perform some INTENSE abdominal exercises to help build those blocky abs and if you are up for it, you’re going to complete your workout with some advanced calisthenics training! Have at it Nation! #HTH #SHFAthlete

Damn i remember watching your videos when i started thanks a lot bro help out a lot
Good to see you're incorporating calisthenics. A lot of bodybuilders neglect these basic movements but they end up lacking balance, strength and coordination. I say this because I was there before starting calisthenics.
I admire your honesty and humbleness in these videos. Great job on the video and exercises. I've gotten a lot of results from doing your workouts! I just need to step up my game on the nutrition side
The title of this video is everything I want right now ! Thanks for the quality upload Scott, you're looking insaaane
As always Scott. Awesome video. Info is on point. Keep it up bro.
Good stuff Scott, you work out like a beast dude.
Awesome video and great content....keep up the progress and success.....
Awesome video Scott ! Just done Chest triceps and biceps today ! Killin it bro !
The best part of this video is when Scott alludes to lifters who don't finish their rep scheme, for example 7-8 reps. Lastly, I am so happy Herman pointed this out and he did get that 8th rep.
Appreciated this video, really ply hard!! Support you!!
Loving the new vlog style videos!
Loved the vid. Thanks man.
I appreciate so much how creative you are with your workouts and routines. Your videos always give me great ideas on how to vary things up. Thank you for what you do for us!
Scott your calisthenics have gotten better since that last video, it's awesome. I would love to see more in the future.

Nice video thanks
Yeah man definitely doing this next chest day.
been doing a similar chest workout for a while now and I still feel it a few days later, also some beginner calisthenics stuff would be cool - gotta start somewhere

Thank you! Although I am a beginner, I tried those deep push ups and could do 4 only each set as I was fatigued but its really hard to hold yourself when you are down and then lift yourself up having elbows backwards. I need to work on my core and abdominal muscles.
Nice Workout!! Greetings from Germany ;))
I am always sliding on incline bench, so I put a pair of heavy DBs on floor in front of the seat and press my feet against the end of the DBs to keep me in place...works most of the time.
Nice video! Would you recommend ''weight gain shakes''?
Nice, Scott trying to do calisthenics, keep up the work, I'm still trying to snatch my bw, and can't even do one pull up, lol.
I love how you have all of the diffrent kind of props in your room, like captains america shield. makes me feel that you do more then just live and eat and sleep gym :D, BTW thanks for sharing the vids, will try this out when im feeling healthy again.

Heya Scott loving your videos, keep em coming :):) . Just wondering, what do you snack on when you have had your meal quota for the day, but your stomach just needs that extra something, and you don't want to eat something calorific. Any snacks that fill up and low in calories? or secrets? Love to heat from you. Thanks mate. Drew

i always slide down on an incline too haha. im gonna try the alternating ab exercise you id in tonights workout. i usually do it, but put my leg/foot back down to the ground and my abs feel dead, so im sure keeping the foot up will make it feel like my abs were lit on fire.
Lying leg raise with a 20 sec pause is my go to ab exercise.
Love the DB bench press. ScottHermanFitness If you were designing a two month hypertrophy program would you choose DB bench press or barbell bench press?

Dude! Your F'N shredded!!! I just started working out again. First time in 8 months. Came down with a nasty sickness which put me out of commission for 2 months. I lost all my progress and just didn't ever go back. HOWEVER! I'm starting up again. Very informative videos. SUBSCRIBED! I've browsed through many of them but haven't found any in which you talk about your cardio workouts. My belly is really the only thing I wish was gone. that planche is no joke brotha! i'm tryna nail one right now myself, can't stop won't stop!!
Scott what do you prefer, dumbell or barbell bench press?
Hey Scott first time commenter here. You are resting at the top of the dumbell fly rep.All the tension get's lost couse the waight is resting on your joints. Try to stop the rep at the top a little bit outside of the shoulder width. And now im the smart ass here tellin you howe to train ;P Keep up the great work!
Heres another video on the Planche Pushups if anyone wants more ways to build up to it. I'm attempting to build at it as well, it's tough Good Luck all and Scott, def keep doing calisthenics videos. Or more prime focus ones :) How to Planche Tutorial- Training Tuck Planche Pushups Progression Workout
Scott is it better to do hanging leg raises? And are windmills goo for abb v
Do do have a video purely on calisthenic?
Nutiva EVCO is the best tasting brand I've had. Has a smooth pure coconut flavor and texture. Scott have you tried MCT oil? It is always liquid and always flavorless. And it converts to usable energy faster than coconut oil (because it has more MCTs than pure CO).
Is it not good to get the negative rep in when doing the leg raises on that first ab exercise? Or is slowing the fall at the end the negative rep?
Hey Scott, what are your maxes on bench and squat? I really wanna would like to know if u don't mind and your age?

are there any good exercises that substitute incline exercises but work the upper chest still? i don't have an incline bench and always feel something is missing from my chest workout because of this
Hey Scott! Great video as usual. Funny enough I do exactly the same workout , only with barbell instead of dumbbells. You know what? If you mix Greek yogurt with chocolate powder you can have a juicy chocolate cream to spread over those beautiful high-protein crêpes that Erica taught in another video (and that have changed my breakfast entirely) ;) Keep it up bro, you're great.
You may want to externally rotate the arms and keep a hollow body position. Thus, you're going to protract your scapula.
I think it's great that you don't keep relentlessly chasing size like so many others. p.s at 3:55 when you sit up and drop those weights i laughed so hard. you slowly shuffle forward, I was wondering how heavy they must have been to demand such a movement and then the moment they hit the floor and shook the entire room my question was instantly answered lol
keep hands closer to waist when fully locked out, and hollow your back.

just a question, in one of your previous ab videos, you say that you should train abs first but in this video you save it for last. whats the best way?
is the oblique squeeze at top or bottom of the oblique lift?
Is it ok to do high intensity cardio for 15minutes twice a week like sunday - satuday or should I do more ,I workout 4 times a week , need help please can u give me advice THANKS!
Hey, I just wanted to make sure I got those drop set instructions right. So are you essentially doing 6 sets of both the normal sets and drop sets? And also, I just wanted to make sure, its 6-8 reps then no rest then straight to 10 reps of much lighter weight and THEN 60-90 second break? Thanks in advance!
The standing oblique crunch hurts my lower back, bending side to side it while supporting added weight is not good for me,do you have other alternatives?
Nice video, the oblique exercise caused much soreness haha ;)
dam scott i wish i could work out with you you would make me a monster i am 205 and i cant do 105 per arm BEAST great video as always but i take what you use in your videos and use them in my workouts in my back yard.
Whenever i do any press movement in chest workout i feel it in my real delts and back rather than my chest what may be the cure for this ?
If I'm doing the abdominal workout from this video is it everyday or every other day
Scott, I hope you can respond. Is it okay to use the coconut oil with my protein shake on a daily basis?? I would be using 1 tsp. Is that adequate enough? I just didn't know if that would be too much on a daily basis. Thanks for any help.
Can you do a press to handstand? That's a somewhat basic skill in gymnastics, but it's something that I can only dream of doing at the moment.

nice house man
before i go to the gym i put 8 oz of whole milk, 1 banana, 1 tbs peanut butter, 1 scoop whey protein in the blender. should i take coconut oil too? or take the peanut butter out for it?
Son necesarios esos gemidos??!
I love drinking my protein everyday , does it have to much fat if i drink it with milk ?
Also, one more thing, maybe have a hollow body position and point your straight elbows more parallel to your body? If that made sense with my terrible grammar.

The human flag and doing knee raises while maintaining the position can be an intense exercise, also is calisthenics and a fun challenge
How often is a good amount to do Abs per week? I always thought 3 was a good amount, but my results have been kind of "Eh".
You drink your protein before the gym ?
Greek Yoghurt and protein powder is a staple of my daily diet!! 0% fat though ;-)
I have Pectus Excavatum and even though I'm making chest gains, I still have that depression in the middle of my chest about 5cm deep.
Have you tried your coconut oil in your coffee? even decaf if u dont want the caffeine.
I know this has nothing to do, but anyone knows the name of instrumental music which uses half the video? : c

When he does his dumbbell bench press, he does his first set of 8 reps at 105. After the drop set, would he go back to 105 for set number 2? or would you drop it down abit since you are more exhausted/tired? Kinda always a question I've had, i usually tend to drop 5-10 lbs. if anyone can help answer this question I would greatly appreciate it! thanks
@MrCrushus

I try to keep the weight the same through all my sets when I'm doing drop sets. Lets be conservative and say you were doing like 70 pounds per side. If after the first set of 70 pounds then dropping to 35 for the drop set you can only do 60 pounds in the next set. I might try doing all the sets at like 65 pounds and see if you can build up to doing all the sets at 70.

Hey Scott, I've been hitting the gym pretty hard the past month for the first time in a few years and I have gotten out of shape. I have never been an avid gym goer, but I am trying to change that. I was curious how long it usually take to see some physical results. I have already noticed that I can lift more than I could when I first started going, but I'm not seeing much size change. Any advice?

No, I haven't adjusted my diet. I'm more just getting back into the gym and wondering when I can expect to see a little more muscle growth. I am pushing my weights up as I feel comfortable though, so maybe 5-10lbs per every week, sometimes every two weeks.
