We don't get more total representatives with reapportionment. The total number of Senators and Representatives is capped at 535 by Federal Law. Reapportionment is just that. If there is a growth of illegal immigrants living in certain areas (such as large metropolitan areas), relative to other areas of the country (such as rural areas), then those areas will receive relatively more Representatives while the other areas will have fewer Representatives. That is the Democrats' plan! Once again, Raskin claims this particular bill is all about NOT counting non-citizens. Do not be fooled -- as many of the speakers in the video are. It is NOT. This is about getting a handle on how many immigrants have actually illegally entered our country. It is also about basing reapportionment of Representatives only on those who are citizens.

This is forking returded. Citizens get representation. Noncitizens do not. Asking the question of citizenship should not be a problem. If you're afraid of the question of citizenship on the census, you are probably not where you are supposed to be and should leave.

The constitution is for American Citizens. Not for people here illegally.

Green card holders on path to citizenship should. But it's not about them voting it's about the size of the districts so they have a certain amount of elected officials based on population. So they can get in more democrats to have more representation in the Congress. Not that they are saying the illegal is voting. But they are putting them in to blue areas to for the voting citizens to get more Democrats into the house so they can have majority very easily.

As someone who has worked in the construction industry for over 15 years. ( Home remodels 2yrs plumbing 4yrs, asphalt and concrete 9-10 yrs) we fill out a W9 FORM that doesn't take taxes out by your company but it's up to you as an independent contractor to do your taxes and pay every year. Needless to say not all but most companies I've worked with had illegals working with us. Now I grew up in a predominately Hispanic small town outside the south west of Houston Texas and I do speak Spanglish fluently. I got no issues with anyone but most of all I have lived around grew up dated and even married Hispanic ppl lleh growing up and still to this day im known as white boy in certain places and take ABSOLUTELY no issue because I know the ppl who call me this are only the ppl close to me. This city folk claim illegals pay into taxes just like everyone else when that's 99% false. And unless your in the Hispanic community you'd know that the LEGAL imagrant who waited years n years or are 1st gen citizens ABSOLUTELY HATE these ILLEGAL immigrants coming over taking their jobs and unfortunately maketing the actual legal Hispanic look bad and get jumped together with the law breakers. Census bureau needs to absolutely count every resident and indicate citizenship. The total count should be used for resource allocations for infrastructure and schools. But the noncitizens should not be used in assigning congressional representation nor should non citizens vote.

Wake up America

Lets fund an independent investigation on how much money is paid in taxes by non citizens and specify the total dollar value of all benefits like schooling costs, medical benefits, food stamps, etc.. In some states they receive priority for federal jobs over citizens.

I think Republicans have a good chance of flipping the Senate but I think Democrats will flip the house. The presidency is a toss-up. This bill has no shot of becoming a law.

I think the many lawyers who will be overseeing the elections have some tricks up their sleeves. If I were one of them, and the person in front of me presented an ID that was issued two months ago or very recently, I don't think it would be wrong to ask for additional ID like a utility bill to show the person was simply not living in a *_common address_* such as a 5-star hotel. There are ways you can prove someone is an actual citizen and someone who simply was issued an ID.

You need two counts one for US CITIZENS and one for illegal immigrants!!!

Seems like this country went to war about no taxation without representation!
