Plant corn and pole beans together the bean will wrap around the corn
Hi Barbara, I really enjoyed the tour in your garden, it is really looking great in spite of the heat! I loved the watermelon tour so much. Thanks and do keep up the great work. Love all the space you have and I do think that the place where you harvested your onions would be a great location for the corn to be planted. Can't wait to see it!

Don't forget corn are very heavy feeders
Plant your peppers closer together so they can each shade the other’s peppers. Peppers can grow side by side and lean on each other, so no staking is needed as they get taller.

Barbara we only planted three watermelons and they are the sugar babies. We have 9 good sized ones so far. We grew them on a fence and have been trellising them. We have one that grew through the fence. I guess we will have to slice it to get it out just to harvest it. Your garden is doing awesome and yes these purple hull peas are loving this Tennessee heat. Mine are doing great. We have been harvesting purple Cherokee and Belgium giant tomatoes for about 2weeks now they have been so much better than those grocery store ones. I am loving them

It is joy here in New York Lovin the garden tour thank you so much 💖😊
Hey girlfriend! Tomatoes ripen off the vine so take a few in the house and sit them in your sunroom/windowsill/table stem side down. If you have a banana sit it by them until you see real blushing 😊

Ok good to know. Wishing you the best on your corn.
Hand pick the squash bugs and put them in soapy water. If you spray the plants at the base, they will climb up the plant and you can pick them off. And, most importantly, you need to look under the leaves for the eggs and destroy them before they can hatch and you end up with hundreds of squash bugs. If you look for the bug and destroy the eggs, you will be able to extend the life of your plants and be able to put in a second round with less threat to those plants. If you let the eggs hatch, there will be hundreds of squash bugs in your garden. I keep small yellow bowls with soapy water all over my garden. Beatles and bugs love yellow and some voluntarily dive in and having them all over the garden makes it convenient for when you pick off squash bugs, cucumber beetles and other bugs. Good luck!

Even though it's costly.I would do the beds.I suffer with a herniated disc and bursitis, and it's no joke. You get a flare-up, and the pain is awful. I like having a plan A, B C, and beyond, lol . I leave my folding chair the garden to help me get up.I don't suffer every day with this pain, but the weather can play its part or lifting something simple. Always think you will get older and can't do what you can today.I would do the beds, but my garden is small, and I can't afford that much soil to fill the beds, lol I use the sectional grow bags and large grow bags. That will do me and succession planting.oh , Jacksonville Florida in the house 😅

Shade cloth or old dark colored sheets will do. You can stake it in with sticks or something. Or you can tie it to the top of the trellises. And create shade for your garden.

Also make sure you don’t over fertilize corn with nitrogen, it will grow a hassle too soon. And the plant will be short.

If you do raised beds make sure you some kind of water irrigation. Those metal beds dry out quickly in full sun. The struggle is real with that. I no longer use mine. Planting corn in the holes. I did that this year. It turned out good one plant per hole. You still will have weeds. You need to at least plant them in 4 rows to have great germination when tassels come out. I also planted onions with my corn. That didn’t go so well. lol. Plant okra in the holes too, if you like that. Planting bush beans would be good there too.

Seedtime is great and will do!
I learned from last year to plant your peppers next or around something that gets tall to provide some shade to your peppers to prevent sun scold. I planted mine next to bush beans. They are protected on one side for half the day. I have found it to work great. Also I was soooo disappointed with my Kentucky wonders, so I decided to do blue lake bush because I can my green beans and the KW ain't cutting it for me. If you're trying to preserve beans, bush beans are the way to go. It just gets too hot too fast in SC for pole beans. We are just eating our pole beans fresh and I will be canning my bush beans when they come in.

My squash did great last year but this year, NO. The bugs are destroying them. They don't stand a chance. I've succession sowed in different areas way away from each other, and they still find them as soon as they start producing. I'm mad. Just summer squash and cucumbers. My winter squash are doing great. I don't know what's happening.

Yes I had the same thing last year and this year they are great. It is like that some time. What zone are you in?If you are in my zone-plant again in early August and the pest pressure will be lower as things start to cool down towards September
