Juki RS-1R Unpacking and Commissioning
Ғылым және технология
My Juki RS-1R is finally here and being installed... come along on the journey as the machine is unpacked and commissioned - maybe I'll even get a first panel built?!
Big thanks to the team at SUBA for making this all happen!
Heinz, Craig, Edwin & Andrew!

When your new toys need a forklift, you're no longer a kid. Congratulations my good man.

Thanks Craig ! I wasn't sure the forklift would lift it... looked very wobbly to me ;)
What a massive upgrade! I lost track of your progress this last year but thankfully this video was prompted to me by KZread again

Not surprising that the Juki moves pretty fast, but it is impressive considering all that hardware mounted on the head assembly. Serious servos required!
@UnexpectedMaker
Жыл бұрын
Serious serious chunky servos - and that speed was about 40% slower than it's running now. Def gotta keep my hands out of this while it's going ;)

@@UnexpectedMaker Your welcome you had enough hardship with the other two its time for Seon to boldly go where Seon has never gone before.
This is awesome. Always a bit nerve-wracking seeing anything as big as that on a wooden pallet, but I was glad to see they were commisioning it as well. And no Charmhigh in sight. lol
@UnexpectedMaker
Жыл бұрын
Mate, this wooden pallet took 4 of us to lift out of the way and lean it against the wall. Everything about this was huge!
I know you prefer long-form discussion videos, but I simply don't have the time to watch them - that's why I like videos like this (although a bit of info about what the kit is, what it's replacing and why you're installing it would be helpful!). Thank you.
@UnexpectedMaker
Жыл бұрын
I've gone over most of that in my streams a few times, sorry. I know they are long, and it's not that I prefer them, but it's way easier to do a stream than to put together a concise video. A 3 hour stream takes me 3 hours to make. A 20min video takes me about 4 days to make. I just don't have the time with what I'm juggling, but I'll try to make more shorter videos about the Juki over the next few months.
Awesome toy.

I went from a Qihe QM61 to a Hanwha SM482+. On paper they look very similar but in practice they are in different worlds. Even though the Hanwha is a lot more expensive, the price/performance ratio is a lot better on it. I considered Juki as well but the price for a new one was out of my budget.
@UnexpectedMaker
Жыл бұрын
I was originally going to order a new SM482+ but SUBA offered me a deal on the Juki that I just couldn't walk away from. The SM482+ is a great machine, and I'm sure I would have been happy with that as well, but the RS-1R is my dream machine... and now its mine!
Very nice smt machine I like too much
Not looked to see if mentioned in other vids, but what did this cost ?
@UnexpectedMaker
Жыл бұрын
I've not stated the price, but it was a lot. More than what I've spent in total on all manufacturing equipment to date.
Congratulations on your new toy. It confirms the rule that as men get older, they get bigger and more expensive toys. And we poorer folks shed a tear. :-)

Awesome machine, congratulations! Any plans for an inline AOI?
@UnexpectedMaker
Ай бұрын
I don’t have enough length to extend the line anymore, but to be honest, inline AOI is really not needed for me. My issue/rework % is tiny. Much less than 1%.
Congratulations and thanks for posting videos like this. I don't have time to follow your streams. That is a nice machine after looking at the product specs. Who was that person helping you?
@UnexpectedMaker

Thanks :) They were the crew from Suba Engineering - the Juki distributors here in Australia and NZ. they deliver and install it as part of the sale.
Damn Seon, you've come a long way since the terrible PnP that use to drop 50% of the parts on the floor.
