The fine covers a four-year period where breaches were committed between 2019 and 2022.». As if the other top teams have clean hands. I think they’ll have to nail Man City to the the post with these charges. They don’t have a choice. It will signal to wealthy owners you can’t just pump money into some small club and make it big. But also think of how the entire football world will react if they don’t manage to successfully charge city over this. FFP can’t afford to lose this case.

@chrisking8579 good question. Had to look up the timeframe for the charges, which was 09-18. For one, I'd say it depends on which charges we are found guilty of, and how severe those are. If they are extreme financial breaches and such, well I definitely would question the legitimacy of the trophies won during those years. As for everything after, there would be a stain on them yes, but I would recognize those as more fairly won, if that makes sense?

Why is Richard Masters telling MPs that a date has been set for an independent commission to hear the charges against Man City, is it true then that City's owners in Abu Dhabi have been in contact with the British government, they want the 115 charges dropped as a political favour, we will scratch your back if you scratch ours. They are probably just gonna get found guilty of not cooperating again. The difference is that most of city’s charges are much harder to actually prove. 35 of the charges are for not cooperating so I would reckon those are what they will get found guilty for and not the actual breaches

It’s all stuff that’s FAR worse than Everton and forest simply going a bit over budget. It’s not a good thing that City’s breaches are the same thing over and over, from these sketchy things to even basic things (to do with their pitch) - shows a total ongoing disregard for the rules, the league, other clubs, and fair play.

@@tomwebster5348 the stuff there is just hard to prove though. For example some of the charges is for paying Mancini more money through other channels. The channel in question being the team Al Jazira paying him as a “consultant”. It would be hard for the premier league to prove that it is anything more than a second job. There are loopholes for everything which makes it very difficult to convict on

If Everton and Forest get punished then surely it’s inevitable that City will eventually get their due punishment. If they don’t then without doubt Everton’s and Forests financial board will take the Premier League to court and wipe the floor with them. It’s not like both these clubs don’t have the money for the very best lawyers.

If Man City get away with it then Newcastle who are currently restricted through FFP after making big losses will switch on the money taps.

The way the Premiere League are handling Manchester City's charges are like the way the government are handling the Post office scandal !

My money is on Man City getting a light punishments with their owner willing to settle whatever the FIFA and Premier League wanted behind the scene.

The Premier League have said that there's a date for when the hearing will take place but didn't actually give any hint to when that'll be. It could be in 2025 for all we know so while clubs like Everton, Forest & God knows who else are getting punished now, City are still getting away with their charges. This reeks of corruption to me. You'd think after so many years spanning over a 9 year period the Premier League will have all the rules that City have broken ready to take them to the cleaners but now it's just being dragged out continuously

city charges are not just ffp/psr. they have been charged with cheating. much more complex. many more charges. they have a legal right to pursue legal avenues, which they have done, and this has delayed things alot. they are completley different cases. why cant people get this?

Relegate the cheats to the national league and enforce a transfer ban on incomings for 8 years, (1 for every year theyre facing charges for). Let all the clubs that have lost out over those 8 years rip them apart in the courts, remove their titles and then let them claw their way up fairly from then on.

This just means - 3 points reduction for ManCity - case closed.

They shouldn’t even be in the championship after all this. If they only got relegated to the championship, they would be back up the very next year then it’ll be business as usual. Then looking at all the years of success they’ve had since they’ve started cheating, the 1 year penalty will be worth it. They have made a complete mockery of the Premier League.

Masters said epl will review the process and no points deduction will be in effect from fsr charges.....the script being written....Everton Forest to deter government involvement....then changes rules to let big citeh chelski off with fines...

The real frustration is them being allowed to continue to win. It's like an athlete that's taking steroids being allowed to continue collect medals then 18 years later someone else gets a medal in the post and nobody remembers. They're stealing other teams' wins.

Correct because of a lack of evidence. Everton admitted to their breach because there is financial records that prove the charges. With city their financial records do not match the emails.
