Judge Snaps at Lawyers, Threatens to ‘Simply Declare a Mistrial’ in Ice Cream Man Murder Trial
Ойын-сауық
Judge Christopher Sabella snapped after prosecutors and defense attorneys wouldn’t stop arguing while a key witness was testifying in the ice cream man’s murder trial. “Sniping each other and talking over each other, which is just going to end,” Judge Sabella said. “If it continues, I’ll simply declare a mistrial.”

That is the sorry state we are in right now. When we see someone just doing their job and they are fair its kinda amazing. So much political crap going on in this country you don't know who to believe anymore. .Including the stacked Supreme court. I still can't believe how they aren't following president and they have no rules and they are there for life with no way to remove them. That is way too much power. So when we see a judge being fair its a nice feeling. We need more of this in other courts and in politics.

This judge is awesome. Friendly and fair.
This dude is just getting all the wild cases.
I'm shocked this judge has always been super jolly. They must have really pist him off for him to get this mad. This is the judge that let Trevor Summers re-tourture his victim on the stand. I know , I know!... khe "had the right to question the person accusing him" but this judge said he had the right to deny it bc before he gave Trever an answer he said "he had to think about it" prior to allowing Trever to cross examine her. He should have said no then!!!
@10054760
Жыл бұрын
The trial would probably have been reversed on appeal if the judge didn’t allow it; however the judge took Trevor doing that into account when he sentenced him. He said the timing of the request was suspect and he thought Trevor wanted to cause pain to his family again which he was taking into account. Not the best thing for the victim, but Trevor was penalized for doing it.

You say “you know” but then complain. It’s obvious that the defendant wanted a mistrial. Judge said he had to think about it to consider the legal implications.,. To consider what the law allows and denies

I like this he enforces rules and creates them without being a tyrant. Good guy.
I'm surprised this case is tried again. Last time it was a mistrial, and before that it was a mistrial, too. The witness's memories are not getting better over time and last time was an absolute mess. The witnesses couldn't identify him, they said he wore something that he didn't. They couldn't identify the firearm, they couldn't even identify the car. And on top of it all the witnesses were shown to have a bias against the defendant because of the rumor publicized that he was the shooter. I hope the state have better evidence this time.

I started watching yesterday and it was boring sounds like I missed some fireworks today. Love this judge !
When his chair starts shaking 😂😂😂
sounds like the defence is splitting hairs He’s Guilty and shouldn’t see the light of day!
He has got a point the “refreshing of recollection”, can get in the weeds because they can say yes and then it opens the door for the lawyer to bring up past testimony and almost always impeach them.
Respect for this judge, no bull, just get to the facts!! love him!!
Bro I’ve seen SOOO many trials where witnesses forget or change testimony and then have to look at their transcripts to be like “oh ya ok” shouldn’t the lawyer have listened and made sure the transcript matched the video 🙄
Defense obviously is worried about their client and the evidence so they argue process and hope for a mistrial.
I really hate lawyers who split hairs and take so long to do it. Jeez.

Good judge. He handed out a death sentence a couple of days ago (also on this channel, Steven Lorenzo) and he still sounded friendly.
Needing to put everyone on the straight and narrow in court shouldn’t even happen with licensed lawyers. A court is not a courtyard.

I call him my Judge Boyfriend. He's great! He's got the sweetest face but FAFO with him :)
Good judge!
This judge is a beast
They won't rob anyone else.
It's not unusual, in fact it's pretty much standard practice, that a witness will be asked "do you recall giving an interview to police on or about..." If yes, then present the transcript, point out the relevant passage, and then ask do you recall being asked that? Yes or no. If yes, do you recall making that statement to that question? Yes. And if so, were you telling the truth at that time? Yes or no. If no, why not, what's changed. This is a silly defense argument.
