Episode 7 - Yabberup to Blackwood
After a year of planning, in September 2022, we embarked on a north-to-south end-to-end on the 1000-plus kilometre Bibbulmun Track. It was a journey that presented its challenges, both physical and mental. This series showcases the beauty of the south-west of Western Australia and what it’s like to undertake a long distance through-hike through such spectacularly varied terrain & flora.
In this episode Jude & Glenn reach Balingup; have a dugite visit their Blackwood campsite; and Jude talks about ‘Rabbit’ and how she acquired her hiking mascot which adorns her backpack.

I must admit it was very close but I put everything inside the tent with the zips closed at all times 🤣🤣
Enjoyed again, thank you. Where did you stay in Balingup? Recommended? And gear - Glenn what is the mat I spotted by your tent door? Have you posted your gear lists anywhere? Sorry, lots of questions!

I haven’t posted a gear list anywhere. The orange mat is an Exped Sit Pad Flex which is also great as a kneel mat to get in and out of your tent. We stayed in a studio cottage on a farm … not sure of the name but the lady who runs it can be reached on 0419 472 240 … can highly recommend it .. a short distance out of town - they will pick you up - and it is very quaint and immaculate.
I love Jude’s “stealth tent” what brand is it? Looks super light weight

Hi, it's a 3L UL Lanshan 2 which weights just over 1.1kg. I got off from AliExpress. It's a cheaper end of the tent market but quite good quality and waterproof 😊
