Jude & Glenn's 2022 Bibbulmun Track Odyssey Episode 12 - Gardner to Mt Chance
Episode 12 - Gardner to Mt Chance
After a year of planning, in September 2022, we embarked on a north-to-south end-to-end on the 1000-plus kilometre Bibbulmun Track. It was a journey that presented its challenges, both physical and mental. This series showcases the beauty of the south-west of Western Australia and what it’s like to undertake a long distance through-hike through such spectacularly varied terrain.
In the episode Jude & Glenn wade their way through the Pingerup Plains and Glenn has a close encounter with a tiger snake.

Thanks Richard, glad you’re enjoying them 🙏
Loving the journey so far! Interesting story about the snake and very lucky. I remember hearing somewhere, never step directly over logs in case there is a snake on the other side, step on and then out and down so you have a bit of distance. Always stuck with me

Very sound advice and I am normally careful to do that Lynda. I think it was the fact it was so early in the morning that made me complacent on that occasion.

The fang marks on your boot, never seen anything like that. Glad you were okay. The vegetation and scenery is beautiful.

We were lucky that the water levels had subsided a bit from what they had been a short time earlier. A challenging but enjoyable few days nonetheless.
I just watched episode 12. OMG! That snake bite! I have been wondering, since episode one, why neither of you seemed to be worried about snakes? And the terrain you hiked through in that episode is just perfect snake territory. I was nervous watching it on my screen!! Hats off to you both :)

Even more nervous here as I saw this comment before watching the video.
Seems like you guys had been pretty lucky with the weather up until just now. Hope you managed to keep your feet dry!

We were incredibly lucky with rain Zara .. would not have had much more than 10-15mm fall on us the entire way … quite often heavy falls at night but little during the day.
Most enjoyable! So, judging by the comments below Glenn, you had an encounter with a snake? I haven't seen that yet, maybe it's in Ep12? Sure glad you were ok though. I feel the same as one of the other viewers, I'll be a bit sad when all the episodes are done. They have been wonderful.

Thanks Jeanette, it has been heartwarming to have such nice feedback for the series, It has been wonderful fun putting it together. My too close encounter with a tiger snake was indeed in episode 12 just outside of Maringup.
