When I used to go to therapy, she always said how I should journal and write down my feelings. I never actually did it until I started watching your videos. I had to stop going to her because it just got too expensive. Your videos help me out a lot. I consider you my "free therapist". Much love 💕

Wonderful video. I am a therapist and have my clients use a journal for anxiety and depression for the reasons you talked about. I also ask them to bring it in so we can discuss some of their entries (some will do this, but not all). In session, we 'dissect' the entries and their thoughts about them, and many times we're able to restructure their thought patterns (over time, of course).
to be honest i never had the motivation to journal and only your videos made me to journal so thank you.
As one who suffers from anxiety, I am going to try this. Some great suggestions here. I think writing it down also helps keep you present by focusing on the now. I'm also going to write that manta down in my journal stat. Thank you Tina. I wish I could study under you. You have a lot I need to learn.
i have an anxiety disorder and ocd and this has been helpful so thank you
Do you teach yoga maybe? You have that kind of relaxed vibe! :)

I do teach yoga :) It's so funny that you guessed that!
I can't express this fully in the comment I'm leaving, however I will simply share that I truly NEEDED this. I am going to try all of your suggestions. Thank you so very much!! I would love more videos like this for anxiety please
I have an anxiety disorder... I needed this. Thank you sunshine!
Thank you for this. I'm 27 years old and struggling with depression and anxiety. I just saw someone today for the first time to get help and I was told to buy a note book and start noting my thoughts, like you've been doing. It is a bit overwhelming having not written anything yet. But I've watched your video and it brought me comfort. So I just wanted to say thanks for helping me :)

This video couldn't have come any time better. I am preparing for a big exam that's coming up very soon, and anxiety is a default emotion these days. I will definitely use some of these prompts today. and THANK YOU for those mantras! They directly spoke to my soul and gave me a sense of calmness.
Beatifully explained, as always. I'm on rocky ground right now....7 years in a relationship...living together, lives Fully intertwined....and he's saying we aren't a good match now. (*ack!!!) He shared his negative feelings ON our 7 year anniversary in fact while watching our traditional meteor shower. I've been in a fog, in a state of panic and feeling this can't be real. Knife in my gut. He's said he wants therapy now so we can both work on better communication. If that's true, I will see that he means it and I trust we can work thru this. But the anxiety is still there. Interesting topic hun. I think this will help me a lot.....xo

i want to cry i feel so loved here
When i get bad anxiety i found it so useful to not claim it as mine but just as a tough period of anxious feelings which will eventually fade as long as i try to keep my head above the metaphorical water. Writing it down helps me as well because then i can work through it.... Love your videos you are so beautiful in your words as well as your spirit!
The day you uploaded this video, I had my first really bad anxiety attack for a while. The timing is so perfect its scary.
How do you use journaling to help with anxiety? Which exercise are you most excited to try? I'm away teaching at theatre camp this week so I'll be slow to respond, but sending SO much loooove and creative fire your way!
I’m a mental heath counselor and I’m working towards a specialization in treating anxiety. I have worked with my own and know that art journaling and writing have been so beneficial for me. I share this with my clients as well! I’m glad to have discovered you through your interview with Jennifer at Chic Sparrow! Just FYI, I have a greyhound too! Just love the breed, they are good dogs ❤️
My phone is being glitchy so this may appear to be the third time I'm commenting on this video, but I just wanted to say thankyou for creating this video. The content you've been uploading lately has been coincidentally relevant and needed for me. So thankyou ♡♡♡♡
Anytime I lose motivation and feel down to journal I just watch one of your vids and it gets be back on track :)
Will definitely be doing this once the school year starts! Im in my final year of college and always bursts of anxiety every semester due to course load, assignments, or life in general. I love the mantra you said "i am still here" ❤
I use my Diary for my anxiety and it bring me peace and calm down my mind this video really did help me
Thank you so much for this video! These prompts are really helpful and I will definitely use them, love you ❤️
Thank you so much for this, I have very bad social anxiety and anxiety attacks. This has helped my anxiety so much.
Thank you so much! I'm needing this so much right now.
I suffer from anxiety disorders and writing down everything makes me feel a bit better, journaling helps me so much and makes me feel so much better. This is an amazing video giving me and everyone else great ways to deal with are anxiety, thank you so much you are awesome.
This was really great advice! Definitely using the self help form, that could help me a lot.
Distraction is the best way to cope with anxiety, not focussing on the anxiety itself. Like paying attention to pain, this will just make it feel worse. Instead visualise, and maybe write about, a comforting place, about feeling safe and secure, in short, the total opposite of how anxiety feels. Slow, deep breathing also helps. When you're NOT feeling anxious, considering what causes your anxiety may be a good thing: journal about it and try to alter your reaction to it. But when anxiety hits, go to your happy place, wherever that is for you. I think OAs is describing a type of CBT, but this is to be done in quiet times, when not in the midst of a panic attack. CBT works, if done correctly. I'm not a doctor, but have direct and indirect experience of anxiety, as can be seen from my relaxation videos (which I'm not plugging). I've just looked at the links: this is based on CBT, but is slightly misapplied.
Hi. I am a new subscriber to your wonderful channel. And I just wanted to say that you have motivated me to pick up a journal and write out my feelings, because I feel like it would help me with my depression, anxiety and such. So thank you for introducing me to journaling and I can't wait to see more of you.
Thank you so much!! Helped so much! I will try these!!😭❤️
This was exactly what I was looking for! Tysm! Great video! :)
This is so helpful! I loved it! Thank you so much for sharing 💙
I found this very helpful! I appreciate this so much. I feel so much better after watching this and trying these strategies💞
I really thank you for this videos 😭❤️ this is what I needed
This was a wonderful and simply good video! I enjoyed it! Great work!
Bless you, Tina. You are so inspiring.
your channel is amazing and I've been loving watching these videos that focus on a topic/new aspect of journaling -- psyched to see more in the near future!
but the thing is: in my head, i'm convinced that if i write down the things im scared of, they will actually happen because I let them out and gave them a space to exist
I adore this and cannot wait to use it! x
Great video! Using writing as a form to analyze the reasons for anxiety is something that hadn't crossed my mind. Giving shape to something that you cannot see is a really powerful concept to self-reflect into why we are in a particular state.
Really helpful i have so many notebooks and these helped me! Tysm
I went through an amazing period of time watching your videos toward the end of 2017. I was feeling so grounded and connected and peaceful. Then someone close to me died and I stopped journaling until basically now- I journaled here or there sure, but rewatching your videos reminds me how empowering and grounding it can be to have a somewhat consistent habit of being with yourself through journaling. Anyway, just want to say thank you, watching this was like getting hug from a good friend I haven''t seen for a while. 🌹
Thank you so much, I have just started this video and already KNOW I am going to love it. I was feeling a bit panicky today and I am so grateful your video popped up at the right time. Love you!
This was so helpful and inspiring thank you!!!
thank you for these, i have just found your channel and I have tried and tried to journal before but stopped because "I sound funny" . These anxiety tips will really help get those thoughts down and out x
thank you so much Tina.
really great and helpful information and links
Great advice, thank you!
OMG NO WAY! Just as I was feeling anxious to write in my journal, this video popped up!!! EEEEEEKKk! Ok I'm going to watch it now, already love it ❤️ you are such an amazing soul!
This is exactly what I needed right now. Honestly this video is a gift. You're an angel. Thank you. 😊💛
So, I'd been searching for specific advice here on KZread about being able to manage my anxiety and my thoughts and at the same time be able to journal and create things for myself, but I hadn't figured out until running into this specific video, must I say, it feels really nice hearing your words of good vibes, advice so simple but understandable. Thanks a bunch, had to subscribe, I could definitely see myself following some of you vids to create better stuff and overall, heal more.

Thank you! I will be using that mantra for meditation :)
Thank you 😊. I needed that at 1:51am!!!
God bless you, your guidance and experience on journaling, but most of all your positive energy and vibrations, i think if humans were more spiritual than religious, we would have a better world.....lots of love from another positive thinker........will definitely give this a try, I always journal but now i will try you tips.....
Thank you Tina and love you💗💕
THANK YOU SO MUCH GIRL!!
This is so helpful, thank you Tina! ❤️
Love your videos
thank you for this! i want to try an anxiety journal now
Thank you so much for this, Tina! You have been sharing the most amazing prompts lately (I commented on instagram in the past week about how much help it's been). Between uni and the journalling I'm doing between sessions with my psychologist, I don't think I'm ready to delve into these, but I'm starting my 4 week teaching internship in less than a fortnight and will definitely need these (especially the self help form) during this time.
I have anxiety and I'm going to try this 😊 thank you

I have a terrible habit of just going on and on list making😞 it makes my anxiety much worse. Do you happen to have more prompts on anxiety or know of somewhere online that would have them? I love you the ones you have previously stated ❤️ I added them in my journal today❤️
Thank you for this.💕 Kisses from Italy
Thank you!!!xoxoxoxo
You are so beautiful and I’m really enjoying all of your journaling videos! I can’t wait to start a new one! You remind me so much of Lauren Cohan!
Firstly, you look lovely!! Secondly, thankyou SO MUCH for a video like this. I have missed a week of highschool due to sickness, and being in year 12 and in 3 ATAR classes, that's a big risk. However, self care is still important. Anyway, I got back yesterday and on top of some friendship issues I'm experiencing that are overwhelming, I got bombarded with assessments and deadlines. I was so anxious that i could feel the fear and tears in my stomach. So I especially needed that mantra in the end. Would you be able to do a video on how to use your journal for mantras? Thankyou ♡♡
I hsve PTSD from childhood trauma. This video was very helpful. I have been trying to journal for years. But it never last long. I think the tools in this will help me a lot.
You are magic I swear how on earth did you know I needed this video?
You gaslight . Amen .
Thanks for the tips , and you are so beautiful!
More anxiety help, please!! 👍
I have anxiety all the time! Like I hear voices and they tell me that I am a horrible writer! I go through this everyday! :( I write down what the voices say and it seems to help.
thank you ❤
I draw in my journals a lot and I have trouble with ANTs. So I plan to draw an ant, write on it what the ANT is and then draw a flyswatter or can of bug spray and write on it what the 'cure' for the ANT is. Today's ANT is "There's too much to do, I can't do it all." the flyswatter says "So just do what you can."
Will there be another journal give away?
What an awesome video Tina!
Hello Tina, wondering about types of journals - you have used regular journals for like personal feelings and have also mentioned bullet journals. Do you use them to plan / track goals / life, or more as an mental / emotional dump from days filled with input? Your discussions seem to focus on using journaling for a creative or emotional outlet, but I have ADHD and rely heavily on planner types of journals... anyway, what other types of journals are there (besides Dream journals - which are really fun if you're into that sort of thing)... and what do you journal in now?
@rachelrungdit4262

Hey! I realize this was posted long ago, but I figured I would reach out if you have yet to find solutions. I would highly recommend bullet journaling (lots of videos out there on it) or even just simple planners. Some of them are cool in that they have sections on the bottom or side that give space for brain dumping, if needed, rather than the more structured planner-type. Have you been able to find anything else that helps you since then?
I just want everyone to know that Today I found out my crush likes me back. IM FREAKING OUT
