This was a great, relaxing guided meditation. You gave the instructions and then let me do it. So many guided meditations have too much talk. The guide keeps babbling on and on and I feel rushed and distracted. So irritating, I just turn them off. But I was able to finish yours as it was actually very calming. Good job!

You’ll learn to dissociate from your negative thoughts (Almost like you’re looking at them from a third perspective. Seeing the forrest through the trees) and focus entirely on how your body is feeling, and what the sensations of your breath, emotions and heartbeat feel like. This was such an amazing meditation. I love that there was no music distractions. Left me space to think and really connect with my thoughts and feelings, while also giving gentle guidance. I was feeling like I was in a very dark space before beginning this meditation and now I literally feel lighter. Thank you so much.

My mental health has been quite weird honestly… Anxiety. Emetophobia. Nostalgic depression. I get anxiety in the morning, noon, and the deep nostalgic depression at night. Sometimes both of them hit at the same time and it ruins my day/appetite. Been like this for about a year and a half. I’m 17. I feel stuck because I feel like I can’t tell anyone about this. I’m not close enough with my friends to talk to them about this. I don’t feel comfortable sharing my issues with the school councillor/teachers/police/strangers, etc. I know if I tell my mum she’ll use it against me in arguments (verbally abusive) and just put me down when she’s in a bad mood (she has very unstable mood patterns). If I tell my dad, well, he doesn’t believe in mental health issues. Once I tried to reach him little about my anxiety and he told me he has it too, but how he dealt with it was to suck it up, study hard, and it’s very obvious that he thinks he’s helping. And when he thinks he’s right, he becomes stubborn and there’s no way I can help him help me on this mental illness situation. What bothers me the most currently is the nostalgic depression. Literally everything makes me nostalgic. Looking out the window, etc. it’s absurd. I think I miss my childhood before Covid, because that’s when quarantine began and relationships failed. Now it’s so bad because I have school and going into uni. I wish I could just be a careless child again. I wish there were no responsibilities and just friends. No loneliness. Loneliness is what I face on a day to day basis at school because I am swept up in nostalgic depression or social anxiety. I am starting to see no point in anything. My mental health is getting worse by the day but I’m keeping my mouth shut. I just hope everything would resolve in my head. I am so desperate to tell someone in person about my struggles but no person is available to me, at least one I feel comfortable bawling my feelings out to. However there’s no one out there. What should I do next?

Hey, I have a pretty similar background and family situation to you and while I still battle depression from time to time, binaural beats, reiki healing, and exercise have been extremely helpful. Don’t give up trying new methods. Everyone’s brain is wired differently and will take to certain solutions more than others. Also, keep in mind that your brain and hormone system isn’t done developing until your early twenties. A lot can change between where your emotional life is now versus the future.

Hi lovely, you posted this a few years ago but I pray you asked for help? You remind me of myself. I developed depression at a similar time and it is hard to speak to someone parents who aren't emotionally available. You sound v emotionally intelligent for your age, sometimes taking that first step to ask school/work/doctor etc for help is the hardest

@@emmercoco You can do this. The fact that you’re asking for help means you’re ready for change and you should be really proud of that. I have a whole playlist on my channel called “very helpful!” that you can check out, know that you’re not alone and you have the power to change how you view reality. It’s not gonna be easy or immediate but once you do it’s so worth it. Start with changing how you think, whenever you catch yourself saying hateful things about yourself try to rephrase it. for ex: “I’m such a failure” to “I’m not living up to my fullest potential.” It took me 9 months of practicing this until I could finally laugh again and see change :) Everyone does things on their own time, so it might be quicker or longer for you, remember to be patient with yourself. Two steps forward, one step back.❤️ And turn off social media notifications, that really helped me to try n get away from that. You are loved, you are worthy, and you deserve to feel happiness. You got this.❤️

How can this be controlled or better said "enhanced." inhales and exhales tend to get much shorter and shorter and inconvenient. I broke the process several times and probably did not get the kind of benefit one is expected to receive.. Is this okay! Does anybody else undergo similar difficulties!

It's often the prompt most people find the most useful. Think of it like reverse-psychology or a mischievous puppy. When you tell it to NOT do something, it rebels. So give it the freedom and see what it does... sometimes it begins to finally be mindful. The earlier prompts such as "notice the breath" may have the mind rebelling up until the prompt to "let go". Also, if your mind goes back to the anxiety when it has freedom, it's still something you can notice and understand about the mind. We can't control what thoughts or feelings surface, but we can try to control our responses to them.
