Real time journalling gets my vote!

I like both ways. Your voice is more relaxed and peaceful in a voice over (which also makes us relaxed and filled with peace ❤ ), but here we can really see your authentic process, the way you think about the placement of photos and papers, maybe some struggles (that we also experience). And so both video formats are really good, you should do what feels better for you and change it from time to time, just to have a little variation. But overall, it doesn't really matter too much, because your videos are fantastic either way :) Thank you! And please, do more journal with me videos. I *adore* them! A video by you always makes my day!

I love the real time journaling! We get to hear some little things that might not be in the voiceover, such as if you make a mistake we get to see how you remedy it! Happy belated birthday Johanna! TFS! ❤

Hi Johanna, i enjoyed the real time chatty today, you seemed relaxed. Happy belated birthday. Sometimes I only end up with 1 photo too as i'm too busy enjoying the day. I use packaging now as well. The background noise is hardly noticeable.

Take your birthday card out of the envelope. You can then add some staples to the top back panel to add stability. Place card back in envelope. Now it won’t flop down.🙂Happy belated birthday!

It was really nice, as is when you do voice over! I think it's how you prefer doing that is most important, at least I was not at all bothered by outside sounds.

Both ways are great! When you build your next journal would you be able to do a step by step on fitting 12 x 12s and smaller papers into a signature for your larger journals. I looked for a tutorial on it but only found for the mini journals. Enjoying all your videos!!! 🤩

She’s not done an actual tutorial on that specifically but in one or more videos of her making journals or in flip throughs of journals she’s already made she explains that process. I can’t point u to the exact video so I can give u a few ideas I’ve learned from her. U can fold the 12x12 paper off center making one side the size of ur journal (after u cut the height) and the other side will be more narrow. If u want both sides to be the size of ur journal you can glue,tape or sew the piece u cut off of the length to the narrow side or another piece of scraps. On the length to make ur pages different you could fold the paper up and make a pocket instead of cutting. There’s a few ideas hopefully they make sense without actually seeing what I’m explaining.

I usually just write the starting month and ending month in the front of the book! I’m typically in a big journal like this for 6-8 months x

I like either format, but you seem way more comfortable doing a voice over. Plus, like you said, it eliminates other noise. Either way, I love your journal!

I enjoy watching both in real time and voice over! I’m always surprised to hear you don’t journal events chronologically! Each to their own, of course, but it would bother me. Great pages in this journal now and it’s looking amazing!

I’m split. I like the voice over because it seems to make a shorter video and seems more professional, but I like how much more personal it feels with you speaking in live time 😂 So I guess I have no preference… go back and forth with both? 😊

The real time voice. I didn’t focus on background noise so that didn’t bother me.

Either way is good but, I personally think voice over is better for these types of videos 😊

I prefer real time. I don't sense it in your videos but one of the reasons why I don't like voice overs as much is because they tend to sound rehearsed and overly edited because creators want to get their videos just right. Real time is so much more authentic.
