Such a unique style you're creating, its a pleasure to watch. Many people make gorgeous journals and don't use them much. I like that you show us how to really dive into journalling and using all our beautiful supplies and items.

Hey Johanna, loved your combination of paint, pencils and ephemera to create a wonderfully colourful page layout. When you said to trust the process with your painting it’s very true, I end up scrapping work because I feel it’s going nowhere, & I should really just keep going. I just love watching you incorporate your artistic skills in your journal. I think I've said this before but it's fascinating to me to watch you paint and draw because, while my parents were both good artists, that gene skipped a generation and I can't draw a thing! This is video is a reminder that I need to update my junk journal. I have so many memories to add to it. Love how you’re making an effort to add colored pencils and paint. For me, I’ve discovered stencils and stamping and I’d love to incorporate that into my journal too. Thanks for sharing.

I really like how this spread turned out. Your artwork is fabulous! Thank you for inspiring me to break out of my comfort zone with my drawing/painting. I too, have children’s dictionaries and picture books that I enjoy using in my journals. I will try adding my own artwork to enhance them MORE than I do now. I’m inspired!😊

I always love watching how you decide to do your journal pages. I really like the idea of using art supplies to help decorate them more and think I will do this more in my own journal as I find I don't use them as often as I would like lately and this is a good way to do that. your page turned out great!!! it looks fun!🤗if you don't want the receipts to fade you can always put a clear tape over them too. I sometimes do that and they do last a long time. that's if you don't mind the texture.

I’ve tried that before and they faded really quickly! I suppose it depends on the tape you use. I really should scan, but i’m just too lazy 🤣

1:18 If you want to preserve the book but see something you like, have you considered scanning it and using the scanned color copy to Journal with? that way you can keep the book intact…

I had to giggle a little when you were talking about how hot and humid it was that day. We measure temp in Fahrenheit where I live so I had to actually google what 30 c was and when 86f came up I thought oh lord you would die if you came to visit Oklahoma in the United States!! 86 is a fairly cool nice day here. In our hottest month being July we usually have many days that are 100-110 (37-43c) and our average humidity is 60-70%. Love everything you. Loved your spread as always!! ❤

That sounds absolutely awful! Haha in aus our summer days are usually high 20s, anything over 29 is especially hot, i live in a coastal town so we usually get a beautiful sea breeze. This day there was not a breath of wind and I think that it was between 32-34 by memory, too hot for me!! ♥️

Love it! Does the paint bleed through to the other side? I know you said gouach paint and are you using it with a little water? Really like what you are doing. You made it come alive on paper.

Nope it doesnt bleed through at all! The paper i’ve used is really nice for that! The gouche paints are mixed with water but you don’t want them to be too wet! It takes a bit of practice to get the right consistency every time haha

I just use a bostik gluestick, but for photos I use double sided tape and staples, for anything really heavy I use pva glue!
