Been listening and playing blues all my life. My son is named after SRV. In my opinion Josh is one of the greatest blues guitarists of all time. For me alongside Derek Trucks probably the best living blues guitarist. So humble. So delicate. Such a beautiful touch. Sophisticated phrasing. And that tone is just other worldly. He has it all.

@@kvnboudreauxI deeply appreciate kingfish (-!: I’m a proper old school blue sky. SRV, Albert King, BB, Freddy, Albert Collins, etc.), but king Fish has far fewer dimensions to his style Josh. Kingfish has all the raw emotion. Josh had so much it’s unreal
I love blues players who know how to phrase and don't just mindlessly play fast. Such great Emotion and technique!

Josh plays to express, not to impress.
Josh's lines are like an endless river. His playing is creative and sophisticated, yet soulful.
That might be the best blues lead playing I've ever heard in my life

Josh excels in so many areas, but what really grabs my ear, is his dynamics.
What a pleasure it is to listen to this man play the blues.

This is probably the best track i ever listened to regarding the blues. I had the opportunity to have a full consert in a small place in Norway a couple of years ago with you, and i was sold. I was afraid no one could carry the torch of beeing a great artist in this music genre among the "next" generation. But dont worry... Josh Smith, you fill those shoes. Ps: a couple of spelling errors, but you are amazing.
